Staying in the Palms Resort and Casino where there are some fine dining restaurants, expensive drinks, and slots and tables for distractions, it is a relief to be able to get some everyday Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf drinks and snacks at regular prices. At least it didn't feel like they had increased their regular prices by much if at all. A few days ago, I was staying at the Palms for a work meeting, and one of my colleagues and I were both craving a simple snack without wanting to pay and arm and a leg. This was a quick stop at the CB&TL after having a sandwich on the food court. I needed something to keep me going. I had 4 shots of espresso over ice. I had to get some caffeine in my ssytem for thew video poker I was going to play. The drink was made quickly and the clerk was pleasant. One of the worst Coffee Beans I've ever been to. It took 55 mins to get my chai latte. Everyone was waiting around forever .... Lots of customers and no action behind the counter. I just blew an hour & half trying to get a matcha or chai or whatever for this AM. Not a good start. Being on vacation though I thought it would be nice to go downstairs and grab some coffee for myself and my boyfriend's mom. I walked up and ordered a black coffee and an iced hazelnut latte. The girl working this morning took down my name for the order and promptly said "Why'd you take my man?" I laughed and she apologized for the joke. (My name is a Dolly Parton song about taking someone's man). We had a good laugh about it when I got back upstairs. After the movie, I'm wanting a good hot drink and thought maybe I'll get one at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. They do have Matcha Latte. However, I somewhat hesitate about ordering upon gaining information that their Matcha powder is premixed with sweetener. I asked if they can make the drink with less sweetener and add almond milk. The person who took my order was nice to accommodate my request. Once the Matcha Latte was ready, I open the lid and felt dismayed that my drink is not even full. For a 20 oz Matcha Latte, it cost $6.09 and my cup is not even filled to the brim. What's worse is that my drink taste totally processed and there's not a slight of Matcha flavor. The second order is a 32 oz Hazelnut Ice Blended drink ($8.09). I took a little sip from their cup and cringe how overbearingly sweet the drink is. It's sad and disappointing and I even regret placing that order. It's a real bummer this place gets one star. read more

Their iced vanilla latte is balanced and not too sweet, and the ice they use makes it so that your latte doesn't get watered down- something that many coffee shops overlook. But BY FAR the best part of this shop was the service. Adia (I hope that's how it's spelled!) kindly guided my partner and I through the menu options and provided impeccable service despite it being her very first day on the register. The following day, we returned and she remembered us! Within one day she seemed to have mastered the use of the register perfectly. I meant to come here more often during my stay at the Palms since I'm a big fan of CBTL but most mornings we had plans for breakfast. I was able to grab a soy iced white mocha here Sunday morning before heading to church (Yes, yelpers after a night of partying I needed to repent! I NEED JESUS!) Everything was fine till now when we ordered cappuccino as always but it was so little. We payed $5.08 for coffee cup that was almost empty. This place is hit or miss. We were able to each score a $6 for $10 Groupon, so that was good. However, this place is WAY overpriced. I mean like REALLY overpriced, a few dollars over any Starbucks Manhattan price expensive. The first time here, I asked for an iced pumpkin chai. And I got stared at like I had ten heads. I was told that, they don't put ice in their iced drinks. What? Then what makes it iced? The girl told me though that if I wanted ice in my iced chai, she'd give me ice, though no one ever asks for it. Okay....and $7, (yes $7) for this drink that was disgusting. It was undrinkable. I had to throw it away, I felt awkward going back up and asking for something else. I also got the YaYa's yogurt parfait, and that was very tasty, but it was $5 so it was still expensive. For breakfast for two and two drinks (boy got an unsweetened iced tea and a plain bagel) it was like $23. Gimmie a break! Sorry, but that's just way too expensive, even for a food court in a casino. The second time around, I tried one of their famous blended drinks, the small mocha with soy, and the boy got an iced earl grey tea. Tip - if you like iced tea, they can make any of their regular teas iced so you will have plenty of flavor choices. The large iced tea is $5, FYI. And no, they won't question you on your wanting ice in your iced tea drink, just if you want iced chais. :) I guess if you are able to get the Groupon, give it a try, but honestly - right next door is Earl, and you get unlimited free refills and for half the price. read more

I came to the Palms with my girlfriend to watch a movie and thought to myself, "Awesome! They have a Coffee Bean inside!" I walked in, checked-in, and saw there wasn't any real good photos of their display, food, and staff so I take my phone and start snapping away but then a man, rude in his tone, and loud enough for the rest of the customers and his staff waiting in line could hear, starts snapping at me about their policy of no photos of the food case. I was so upset that I had to walk away, then came back to ask this person's name. His name was Sam and he was the manager of this Coffee Bean! And what a coincidence, Sam is also the duke of this Coffee Bean! You would think the manager wouldn't be so rude and by the way he displayed his power as a manager shows how high of regard he shows to patrons and customers to the Coffee Bean. I understand some stores do have policies of no photography and those stores do post signs to alert the customer of such policies. Hey Sam! Lighten up and be a little nicer to your customers. Not everyone is aware of your policies since they're not posted up here. There is no need to be rude! 1 star for horrible service BEFORE I even got to order! And won't be coming back here again. But because of this whack experience here, it turned me onto Blizzberry! The baristas at the Palms location has practically memorized my usual drink: The Iced Tea Latte English or Scottish Breakfast in 32oz! CBTL is the only coffee shop I know that makes this beverage which is why I keep coming back, the awesome and friendly folks working there is what makes it even better! PS. My girlfriend and I went to see a show at The Palms, and I was a little tired, so I thought I'd get a iced coffee really quickly, especially since there was no one in line. The girl was nice, but never gave me my change. She took the money, slammed the drawer shut, and went on to make my coffee. It was only twenty two cents, but still, who does that? I was in a bit of a shock, and since I work in the service industry myself, I still dropped a dollar in the tip cup, thinking "I guess she really needed that change." I would have said something, but there was a line forming, so I just took my coffee and left. We went to go see the show and I forgot all about it, until the next day when I passed by a Starbucks.
