I was frustrated because due to the nature of the drink, requesting a non-dairy alternative seems impossible, according to staff on duty. On top of that, the drink is bland, lackluster and lacking in depth and complexity of any sort. I could try asking for more flavoring next time, but the base of the drink makes me hesitant. Just now leaving the coffee shop I must've showed up 10 minutes before they closed and the coworkers were in a terrible mood and treated me and my mom badly when I asked for water (it was a man and a woman). Went to this coffee shop 2 times in the past month of October, once by myself and then a separate time with friends. I was served by the same woman (October 27 at 7:20pm) and she made my drink wrong and gave me bad attitude BOTH times, while I ordered she had no friendly customer service skills, and then after when she handed me the drink with attitude. Coffee bean always has great tasting coffee and I've never had any complaints. I tried the iced matcha tea latte today and got about 4 sips in before my drink was completely gone. It's clear the barista was in a rush when making my drink and having a small drink completely full of ice is unacceptable. I paid $4.65 for this drink and I truly don't feel I got my money's worth. When i went up to the counter to order the guy was rude and made me feel like i was an inconvenience. Even though their were 5 employees standing around just gossiping. wanted to buy another item after my order and i had to say hey several times to get his attention. No one else was in the store and no one else showed up within the 10 minutes I was there. To top it off they got my order wrong. I needed a pick-me-up while shopping and this place was conveniently located. Lots of seating and not as much foot traffic as its competing coffee place. I got a cold brew on nitro which was pretty good, but could've been colder in temperature so the ice wouldn't melt as fast and water it down. I go to Baja California several times throughout the year, as I have friends that live there and I'm involved in philanthropy. Getting into Mexico is not a hassle, as I know my way around the parking situation at the border. However, I've been in need of a good coffee spot for a pick-me-up as I go to or come from Tijuana. This Coffee Bean location fills that need. It is a new location, build just north of the border in San Ysidro. There is a shopping center here, but I've never actually shopped here. The coffee here is a good as their other locations. Patrons are locals and people who cross the border regularly. I've seen families, students posting to do homework, and transients come through here. No disagreeable characters, just people doing their thing. Their restrooms are around the corner within the plaza. Both the store and the restrooms are well maintained. The customer service is on point, and I will be back here often as I conduct business on the other side of the border. read more

I walked in this place before crossing over to Mexico just to have a ice coffee to see if it ok to have my Airbnb and Booking.com Guest stop in before crossing. Definitely not. If you do decide to come in, definitely bring your ear plugs. It Friday the 5th of July close to closing and I don't know if the guy behind the counter is on drugs or just thinks he's in the club. The music is quite loud and very disturbing. I definitely will not go back. My advice is to take an extra walk and go to Starbucks.
