I kept it to myself but thought it was rude to then tell me I had to order 3 drinks. Service wasn't terribly friendly but ok. Not coming back to this location. Had to ask to separate hot food from my cold drinks which they did. They do have great selection of other drinks and the food options are very good and reasonably priced. I live around the area and have never thought to try this place, I'm dying to come back already. I ordered the strawberry matcha cream and drank it before I even got home. Instantly regretted not ordering the large size! My melon green tea was tasty too, i love the taste of fresh iced tea. Their menu was extensive and offered many delicious flavors. The part I loved the most was the menu guide to the add-ons you can have in the drinks. It gives you a description of the toppings and what can go with them. Tiny parking but every time I've been here I'm able to get a parking spot. Currently they have the Pokémon collab! They come in a special cup with a collectible straw topper! Not my favorite tea spot but still good! Got the karage which was kinda extra for the smallest 5 pieces I've seen...but omg the chicken was juicy and moist and so good! First time around. I ordered Oolong Milk Tea HOT. Came out perfect. Second time around. I ordered the same drink, but was denied and told "... stove warmers are being used for something else." I then opt for the iced Oolong Mill Tea. It was good. Third time around. I ordered the same drink (Oolong Milk Tea- Hot). Worst service I've experienced. I've ordered from Kung Fu Tea many times, and this was the first time I ran into an issue like this. At 8:52 PM today, I placed an order through the app and my girlfriend went to pick it up. When she gave my name, the employee at the front responded with an attitude and insisted on seeing an order confirmation or screenshot. That is not standard practice at other Kung Fu Tea locations. We have never been asked for that before when providing a name for pickup. It felt unnecessary and unprofessional. On top of that, the drinks did not taste like what you would expect from a Kung Fu Tea franchise, and not in a good way. We also requested 30 percent sugar, but it seemed like that was completely ignored and the drinks were made at full sweetness. Overall, this experience was disappointing. It was lonely when we arrived, we stumbled here because we saw a BOBA sign. I was unsure what to try so I went with a mango green tea. It was decent 4/5. I asked about the matcha (what I initially wanted) but they were not very knowledgeable about their own items. KFT is a go to and the best spot considering the area. I would choose Kung Fu Tea over any boba shop here because it does seem to remain the most consistent. I've come to enjoy their Lychee Thai Milk Tea lately and Honey Oolong Milk Tea. They have the best Winter Melon Green Milk Tea in my opinion and this applies to all of the stores I've been to. Service is friendly and they work fast to make everything, but I also order ahead on the mobile app to pick up immediately to achieve no wait. Overall, this location is much smaller than the ones I've been to, however, there is enough seating. This parking lot scares me a little with how awkward the slopes are, so just be aware of that. read more

I would have to say KFT has the best boba drinks in this area. My go to is the Wintermelon Milk Tea. It is consistent with other locations and have a great selection of toppings. I never had a problem with their service. Also greets us and acknowledge if they need a moment. I never have to wait long for any of the drinks. It is a smaller location then others so don't expect to hang out here with a big crowd. Not their fault but the parking lot is oddly built on a slope. I love Kung Fu tea. But I am pretty disappointed since I was very much looking forward to my drink since I haven't gotten boba from them in a while. It was probably my third sip into the drink (as you can tell in the picture, I didn't get that far) and I felt a different texture in my mouth other than the boba and the drink itself. I pulled out a piece of long, black hair. A very unpleasant surprise. And I definitely know it wasn't mine because my hair is bleached. To prevent this in the future, it would probably be best to have workers with long hair to wear a hair net. I've been to this Kung Fu tea many times but got something different today. I tried the mango slush with 30% sweetness and mango jelly. It wasn't too sweet but the ice wasn't as blended as I wanted it to be. The drink also took awhile because there were several orders and only 1 bobarista making drinks. Although we had to wait a bit for drinks I would still come back for the convenience of living nearby and the variety of flavors offered. I think I'll go with a milk tea or fruited tea next time I visit. read more

Don't come for me! Hands down Kung Fu Tea is my favorite boba spot in all of SD! My go-to drink is the wintermelon milk green tea and I get boba as my topping. I can't even put into words the mouth watering goodness flavor that is wintermelon milk green tea. The boba is always perfect, never too hard but never to squishy either. Kung fu tea has free Wi-Fi and they have tabletop board games so it's the perfect spot to hangout and work or play games with friends. Kung Fu Tea has a mobile app where you can earn "bubbles" for each purchase which can be redeemed for a free drink. Mondays-Thursday's in the app they offer special promos. Every Monday is free toppings. Tuesdays is the mango series BOGO. Wednesdays you can get a free size upgrade. Thursdays earn double bubbles if you order the cocoa cream wow drink. Any Kung Fu Tea location I have visited, I have always had a good customer service experience. They can get busy but you can call ahead and order over the phone so that your order is ready for pick up when you arrive. Each store location is always very clean and presentable. Beware if you are ordering through app as they won't help you if there's any problems with your order. We've been a Kung Fu Tea customer for years and we love it. We've been to many different locations without any problems but this location is an exception. Our first time ordering from this location and it was a bad experience. We ordered through the app because of the 4th of July deal and since the Kung Fu Tea near our place is closed, we ordered to pick up at this location. Unfortunately when we placed the order we didn't get the buy 2 get 1 free deal so we called right away and asked if they could cancel the order so we can fix the order. They said that they can't cancel the order and it has to be on the app or we have to call our bank. So we went to the location and talk to the staff and they called their manager and we waited awhile to be told that they can't do anything about it since it's an order from the app. All we wanted was cancel the order so we can reorder to get the 4th of July deal. The reason we got Boba is because of the deal and we drove far and waited awhile to be denied of any help. It was a really bad experience and inconvenience so I'm rating this location 1 star. read more

The milk tea that I ordered today at Kung Fu Tea in National City was over sweetened, as a result the taste was sappy and syrupy. It was so inappropriate when the sales person has responded negatively to my suggestion indicating that it was my responsibility to ask the amount of sweetener. But it must be properly measured to taste better, but not sappy and over sweetened milk tea which was obviously unpleasant taste, not normal, which could turned to be unhealthy to be consumed by children and senior citizen. Tucked away in a tiny strip mall in National City, this place can easily be missed. I was aware of this chain from a cousin of mine who had worked in the Kung Fu Tea in Kearny Mesa. I've always loved the boba teas and the unique flavors that they are known for. I happened to be in the area, so my daughter and I decided to stop by for a refreshing drink. While perusing the digital menu, I was intrigued with the Sesame Matcha. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if the flavor combo would work together, but I decided to be adventurous this day. It did take awhile for the drinks to come out, with mine being last. I tentatively take a first sip and was blown away with how delicious it was! I loved the roasted sesame taste coupled with the creamy matcha. I'm a regular at this KFT location and had never experienced any issues with service or drink quality but my most recent trip was enough to turn me off from ever spending a single dime here again. I ordered two large drinks, in person, not over the app, so the cashier/barista working both rang up my order and prepared my drinks. There weren't many customers inside, which likely reduced the wait time a bit but I did notice my drinks were done a bit faster than usual. While driving away with my drinks, no more than a block away from the store, I had to hit the brakes pretty hard to avoid a collision and both drinks toppled out of my cupholder. If you're a frequent boba connoisseur, you know most places use a neat little machine that seals the lid of your drink shut with a piece of plastic so it stays closed and secure so you can avoid spillage. Ironically, one drink ended up all over the floor and the (properly sealed) one remained intact and unharmed. Regardless, accidents happen, right? No biggie, I'll call the store, let them know what happened and ask to see if they can replace the drink *they* didn't properly seal just 10 minutes ago. Nope. After spending almost $15, I was told I had to purchase a new drink if I wanted it replaced but I could have 20% off (one whole dollar, wow!) because quote; "We don't want to lose money." Additionally, despite being in the store less than 10 minutes before I came back, my word was taken as dishonest and I was asked to show the now trashed, tea soaked receipt or to bring in the cup as "proof of my purchase." This was all negotiated via text messages between the barista and the manager because the manager wasn't even physically present in the store... I tried to call back and leave my name and number so I can speak to this nameless manager directly, and the barista had the gall to ignore my calls since she recognized my number. Funny how the phone suddenly wasn't busy and she picked up after I called using a different phone number. Sounds like a severe lack of accountability to me. I'm shocked and appalled at the utterly poor customer service at this location- especially toward a regular and loyal customer. Judging by the other recent reviews, I'm not the only one noticing how despicable the service is. I'd imagine a business would end up losing more money in the long run when customers stop coming after you treat them like crap, than it costs to replace one $5.00 beverage. Do better. read more

Tucked in a little business plaza, hence plaza Blvd. This is my second stop at a Boba spot in SD. This spot wasn't located on TripAdvisor. When and got a Thai milk tea. Usually it's orange in color, even in Thailand it was orange. It basically looked like a regular milk tea. So, nothing special and to actually see milk powder be used was a bit weird.
