Not super impressed, to be honest. I was excited to check this place out after reading the rave reviews, but it fell flat for me. Service was friendly enough, but my iced americano with coconut milk was not very cold and tasted just okay. My husband got a hot lavender latte and was unimpressed as well. Maybe it was an off day, but I'd try somewhere else for coffee next time.

2nd Visit we are very sad to say The Coffee Box has "Slipped" Not just with one item but multiple. Breakfast sandwich not nearly as good but the *multiple baked items we purchased including danishes/muffins among other things were 1/3 the size of those previously pictured, served cold/less fresh/kept in a freezer and as if someone else made them. Make no mistake we will return to The Coffee box and just hope that this less than stellar visit was a one off as ANY establishment can have a "miss" from time to time!

i have no new photos but ever since i moved to MO, i usually only get the coffee box every 6 months (my dentist is nearby) but i just wanted to update a previous review i have given because every time i've went back it's been amazing every time. you can say the service is "slower" but it's usually due to only 1-2 people working & making things with love. they're always friendly & i've been given great recommendations as well! as for the ambiance, it's a drive thru ‍ but they do have outdoor seating & a walk up window which i think is really cool. my go to's are an iced dirty chai latte &/or an iced vanilla latte :) ps: their fall menu is amazing.

This is GREAT! Was looking for a place that offered breakfast all day, and came across The Coffee Box. Didn't realize that it was a drive thru place, but should'a with the NAME. Duh! Anyway, tried their Orange Cream Latte, which was TO DIE FOR. Oh so good, AND not your normal, everyday latte! Was there for breakfast and ordered the sausage burrito. Was pleasantly surprised at both the size and the flavor of it! Some places, you need to order TWO because they're so tiny. Not so HERE. Wonderful flavor too! And the prices aren't crazy either, which is ALWAYS nice! Quick and friendly service. Won't be my last visit, for sure...

These biscuits are huge and soft on the inside even the next day.

Update: four days later and I still had one of their giant biscuits left. It was absolutely still very fresh and moist and heat it up perfectly! Next time you walk or drive by the coffee shop, do yourself a favor and pull in to order yourself a coffee, pastry, or sandwich. So far everything I've had is so good and appears to be great quality ingredients. Also Friday Saturday Sunday they have biscuits and gravy that are worth the wait and name weekends even better! Even if they were out of gravy order I would order one of their biscuits! They are huge and their gravy is delicious with good quality crumbled sausage, pepper and savory ingredients. It's a perfect ratio of gravy/sausage. I've had their normal chocolate brownie and it is very good and flavorful. The croissants are good but not the best I've had. However I am super happy to have this option to buy a croissant in Maryville! My favorite drink is a white mocha chocolate caramel latte with one sweet n low. I've had it hot and cold and both are simply delicious. It's a cliché but I actually do think there is something that indicates the quality of their coffee is better than Starbucks. I am a fan of both but will work to support the small business more. Maryville is lucky to have these wonderful ex military owners in our town. The only downside is I think it can be a little slow to get through the line, but it's so worth the wait. I removed one star for this and I feel really bad about it, but I think it's good to be honest.

This is such a great addition to Maryville! They have an extensive coffee and dessert menu. I had the Cafe Borgia, which had a nice hint of orange and chocolate. I also got a blondie, brownie, and chocolate croissant. Each of the desserts were good, but the chocolate croissant was me and my son's favorite! I plan to go back to get the biscuits and gravy pockets soon. They sound really great! The person working the drive-through was very friendly. This is a great place to stop and get coffee before work. I will be visiting often!

Excellent coffee place in Maryville, it is worth the drive. Cold Brew is amazing as was the bakery items. They also sell speciality coffee whole beans and the flavors are like none I have ever had! Highly recommended if you are a coffee person, way better than Starbucks!

However, the people of Edwardsville still love Teaspoons, because it was packed. Things that disappointed me on my last visit that made me decide to take a star away: They are now serving Kaldi's Coffee a STL roaster. I think it is a shame that they are not supporting one of the many local roasters on the Illinois side of the river. Was disappointed that their iced coffee lids were not sip lids. I prefer them, because I am not a fan of straws. I know some people need or prefer straws, but I like the option of not using one. Save the Turtles. Biggest disappointment was my food. I ordered the Breakfast Platter. My scrambled eggs were fluffy and hot and made fresh. They were very good. The English Muffin was also good. It was obvious it was freshly toasted, because the whipped butter spread and melted easily. The disappointments were the bacon and potatoes. Both were cold and tough. It was obvious that both sides were prepared ahead of time. The bacon did have good flavor, but it was chewy and rubbery. My potatoes were on the burnt side of preparation and cold and chewy like the bacon. Damn, when I've ordered this before it was good, not this time. I will at least say, the service and customer service is still good and consistent with what I've had before. Which actually saved them from getting two stars.

Pro tip: definitely check their hours before you go--and honestly, just plan your day around it because it's that good. I was expecting your typical little coffee-and-sandwich spot, but it completely exceeded my expectations. They have a couple of parking spaces behind the building, and if those are full, there's a free lot about 500 feet down the road. It was pretty busy at lunchtime. You order at the counter, and they bring everything to your table. There's a mix of indoor and outdoor seating in various sizes, and the decor is adorable. I especially loved the maps--they make great conversation starters. I noticed several tables pointing out places they'd visited and swapping travel stories. The menu has a nice variety. I ordered the chicken salad on ciabatta with a side salad. The chicken salad had a strong dill flavor that I really enjoyed, and the ciabatta was perfectly fresh--not too tough. Next time, I'll probably pick a different side since the salad was basically just lettuce. If there was any dressing, it was super light, so I ended up adding some of the lettuce into my sandwich. The surprise standout, though, was the lavender lemonade--a total sleeper hit. It was scorching hot that day, and I wanted something refreshing, so I ordered it on a whim. Honestly, it was the best lemonade I've ever had. I don't usually find myself making a special trip to a café just for lemonade, but here I am. I'm not sure if it's seasonal, but I really hope it sticks around.
