Unfortunately it was awful. We were sat on the enclosed porch. We had Christmas music blaring so loud that you had to shout. (Someone later unplugged the speaker.) The temp on the porch reached 79, which was quite uncomfortable. We waited about 45 minutes for our food. And, boy was it awful. Frozen pancakes, frozen biscuits, ok gravy, ok casserole and really good sausage links. No serving utensils for anything - had to use my fork to get gravy. No butter. I will say, the place is decorated really well. Top marks for that. As far as food service - this place has no idea what they're doing. All in all - you'd be better off getting a room at the Hampton Inn. It would be cheaper and the breakfast is better. Guess you have to determine how much you're willing to pay for a photo of your kids with the Grinch. (Which we didn't get because we were so hot and uncomfortable.)

You can tell the owners put a lot of love, care and Christmas cheer into making this place special and memorable. The entrance even has a photo station so you can get adorable group photos easily. This is one of the few Christmas bars that also offers family-friendly brunch in the mornings. I heard the Grinch brunch is amazingly silly and fun for Grinch lovers. Highly recommend requesting Ali as your server as she is an absolute delight and such a happy Elf! Be sure to try the Dubai Chocolate or Peppermint Patty drinks.

We looked over the menu and we ended up ordering fried catfish, fried Green tomatoes, and fried pork chops. I also got a side order of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. The fried green tomatoes came out and I felt like they were overcooked very mushy inside. The outer banner was very crunchy and cooked well the inside didn't really have much taste. The menu said they would serve it with a ranch dressing but it ended up being some other type of reddish sweet and sour type creamy dressing. It was ok. The pork chops we're dry and the meat tasted old. I think they need to change their meat supplier. The mashed potatoes taste it like I had a ton of garlic powder. In my opinion a restaurant should never use garlic powder but instead use fresh garlic in their dishes. It's really easy just to throw cloves of garlic in the potatoes as you're boiling them. Or roast them. I was burping up garlic for several hours after I left. You can often judge a soul food restaurant by their mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was baked but the cheese sauce tasted like nacho cheese sauce. Or some type of ready-made cheese sauce. And they just mixed up the cheese sauce with some elbow pasta, threw some American cheese on top and threw it in the oven. It was not the worst mac and cheese I ever had but it was definitely not good. The restaurant was very clean and I like their decor. Ray came out talking to customers and checking on their satisfaction. He was nice and I didn't have the heart to give him bad news. But I really believe unless they fix their recipes and show more imagination that they're not going to make it. Lighten up on the salt. The food was too salty. I wanted to try their sweet potato pie but after me and disappointed by all the other dishes I changed my mind. I probably won't be going back. 65 bucks for dinner for two.

Although the wait was quite long (25 minutes), the wait was worth it! The chicken was cooked perfectly (not dry at all) and the sauce seasoned and sweetened (but not too much!) the chicken to perfection! The Java rice was also absolutely heavenly, and the cabbage atchara/seasoned cucumbers added a freshness that accentuated every bite. Service was super friendly, and there was also a cute and homey set up with sofas, fun chairs, and a coffee table (dining tables were further inside of the restaurant). Would be a great spot to spend time/study!

The owners are very approachable and could immediately recognize us as Filipinos when we were sitting and eating there. The restaurant reminds me of a "fancier" Filipino style like you see in big tourist spots in Boracay. I do admit, the wait is a bit long as we were waiting for almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. However, I feel like the complaints about it from other reviews are ridiculous since this place isn't considered fast food, but cooked with love. I mean- when I was living in The Philippines, everyone has patience of a saint, especially when it comes to food so I do not see the wait time as an issue. It's not served immediately like karinderya style. I ordered the Filipino-style chicken BBQ and I'd like to say that it's so delicious and flavorful. However, it doesn't remind me of home. I do want to point out to definitely ask for tuyo kalamansi with chili for the dip if you're not a fan of vinegar. I was told it was homemade by the owner and it did not disappoint. The pork BBQ that my father ordered was a bit too hard for his liking, as Filipino meat tends to be on the softer side. The ube banana pudding is also yummy, however, it is way too sweet for our liking. I'd like to point out that Java rice is so good that I think that it isn't enough for a Filipino like me and I personally don't want to pay for another cup of Java rice. There were more sides than rice tbh. I was also a bit bummed that halo-halo isn't in the menu at all, With that being said, I feel like the food and desserts here are mostly catering the American palette, but it would be good for people who has never tried Filipino food.

The staff were very friendly for our first time. Our server dropped off waters for us right away. It was a seat yourself concept where you order via the QR code, which made ordering easily. We started with caviar deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, both of which we devoured. The green tomatoes are thicker and had a good bite to them! The gator po'boy was good, though on the dryer side. I would have loved more of the sauce on mine. The chips were perfectly crispy crunchy! My partner got the lobster roll and scarfed it down in a few bites. A bit on the pricier side since it's based on the market value, but still delicious. Stacie offers a bunch of pop ups throughout the Saint Louis and surrounding areas and I was lucky enough to find her in Eureka at a cute little boutique. I was able to schedule an appointment through her online appointment system which was super easy and when I arrived, she was ready for me. Stacie has so many difference color tinsel to add, but since it was November when I added mine, I wanted to go with rose gold and copper just because those would look good for the holiday season and with my hair color. She attached the tinsel to the root and assured me that they would last for a few months and she was right! Some have probably fallen out by now, but ultimately, I still get so many compliments when people notice the tinsel in my hair. I can style my hair with my usual products and I can use my blowdryer and straightener as needed and they do not impact the shine of the tinsel at all. These tinsel are attached so well and clearly are made to stay in for a while. I can't wait to schedule another time to get more in for Mardi Gras which is coming up soon. I love how she has so many colors to offer so you can easily find a color (or colors) that work for you! Stacie mostly offers her services at a pop up event, but sometimes she does schedule at her home, so you can reach out to her to see what would work best for your schedule.
