Their breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches are great and it's very cute inside! Outdoor seating when it's warm is also great.

My daughter and I were visiting Columbus today for the first time and spent almost five hours at…read morethe huge antique mall (awesome)! We wanted to grab a quick, but non-fast food, lunch before heading back out of town and stopped in at Julie's Java House at 12:40 pm--we checked their website as we were leaving the mall, and debated about just skipping lunch, knowing the staff were going to be closing up at 1 pm. We figured they might be cranky or annoyed with us, being anxious to clean up and close up--BUT, we were very cheerfully welcomed as soon as we walked in to place our order for grilled cheese sandwiches. The sandwiches were served fresh and hot off the grill/panini press, were generously filled with cheese and tomato slices, and the sides of chips and pickle slices were the perfect way to round out our meals! Not only were the food and service great, the cafe was super cute and very clean! Their location is right next to the Columbus Amtrak Station, so if you happen to be there when a train goes past, the place to sit is right inside the front door at the little "bar" with the stools. We were too late for the morning trains and too early for the ~2:00 one...maybe next time. :-) The owners clearly take pride in their establishment and seem to really want to give back to the people and causes that matter most to them, as evidenced by the various photos of family and friends, and certificates of recognition, displayed throughout. They also offer plenty of seating, a large parking lot, and items for sale in small-ish quantities, like homemade honeys, teas, ornaments, wooden trains, jewelry, stickers, and coasters. We feel like we discovered a gem of a restaurant to cap off our truly fun and enjoyable first (but not last!) visit to Columbus!

I sat in the front room where it was definitely chilly. And since the wifi was rather slow, I opted to move on. [Review 20679 overall - 249 in Wisconsin - 1660 of 2023.]

The menu is quite extensive it is two laminated pages stapled together both front and back and there's an additional dry erase board with additional offerings up by the counter. They offer fresh bakery items that are quite expensive as well and they have a nice selection of gluten-free products for anyone who is interested in maintaining that type of diet, they even had gluten-free sodas and beverages. The staff was very friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time we had a chicken salad wrap called the Ella Fitzgerald and a BLT. I'm going to give it another shot because I was just a slight bit disappointed in my wrap there was an awful lot of tortilla and not a whole lot inside and I'd like to try a different item. The bathrooms were impressively roomy and very tastefully decorated and very clean.

My brother and I were enjoying our food when a nice worker happily brought us waters. Unexpected and delightful service like this make this cafe a definite gem. The front patio table with an umbrella was a lovely spot. We enjoyed our time here. It's also kid friendly with a playground in the back.

As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by the variety of art displayed all over the store. I really liked the skateboards painted by a local artist, and the person working the tea counter was happy to talk to me about the artists and the upcoming art fair in town. I took some time to peruse the tea accouterments available in the store, including mugs and infusers, ready-packaged loose tea, and more. This is a great place to shop for a tea lover in your life! Then I meandered over to the walls of tea. There are many varieties available and again the employee was very happy to talk through any questions. There were four teas at the counter that were available to sample. I sometimes appreciate having more limited options instead of having too big of a selection to be indecisive about, so I tried a couple samples and chose from there. I got the Precious Eyebrows tea (that's a translation of the original name!), and it was a really good classic green tea. The treats behind the counter, like the chocolate chunk cookies and different types of pie, were very tempting. I didn't get any food this time, but I do hope to return! The store is also linked to an art and jewelry gallery that I was able to check out while my tea was steeping. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating and a couple of other shops right nearby to check out. Great place to check out.

I, as usual, had to take half my meal out. They accommodated me with plastic utensils and napkins for my road trip. I had the ribeye steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns with onion and cheese and sour dough toast. The steak looked a little odd probably Ky because it was thin but it tasted good and was tender. I had enough steak for a sandwich with the sourdough toast, adding some steak sauce, and a third of the steak to eat on its own. One thing I really appreciate is that they don't add salt to their food. Whenever I can add a touch of my own salt to a meal vs the first bite being too salty is a win in my eyes. My husband had the meat skillet with a pancake and eggs over easy. He had me taste his pancake, which was delicious. Sometimes pancakes can be too sweet before adding syrup but this one was just right, nice and fluffy too. He enjoyed his skilled but had asked for habanero how sauce and squirted a bit too much on his skillet. Not enough to burn his mouth but enough to make his nose run. Service was friendly and the food came out fast. I recall having takeout of broasted chicken and have eaten dinners of fish and burgers and had the same experience with great, fast and friendly service and delicious food.
