Chopped cheese sandwiches seem to be one of the current trendy foods, and many different versions have started infiltrating the Syracuse area. A new deli/convenience store in Baldwinsville decided to just adopt the dishes name as their store name and run with it. Chopped cheese offers a variety of sandwiches, wraps, halal platters and desserts, along with also serving as a bodega style convenience store. The space has been completely renovated and everything is brand new, bright and clean. They are mostly aimed at take out, with only a couple small tables with chairs for dining in. We tried Chopped Cheese when it first opened. Now, about 6 months later, we have been there several times and have tried several things on the menu. The good: when the food is made well, everything is usually pretty decent. The very first time we went, they had JUST opened and didn't have some ingredients on their menu yet, but we were able to substitute and everything was good. We were even given some free desserts, which were also tasty. The bad: Now that we've been there a couple times, there are definitely some issues. They have a lengthy menu, and even 6 months in, it seems employees are still not sure of all ingredients that go into their offerings, often questioning several times what you ordered off the menu, or physically having to check the menu to see what the ingredients for a dish are. While the service at the register is usually friendly, the service behind the food counter tends to be indifferent to customers and slow. We have, more than once, had our order either made incorrectly or missing items. We have learned to simply check our order before we leave, and they are always fine to remake whatever is wrong, but items being wrong/missing is a common occurrence. Overall, it's a decent spot when you need/want something fresh made, but don't want to sit down, but they definitely have some things they still need to work on. read more

Came here for a bacon egg and cheese at 9 in the morning on a Friday. I waited over 30 minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting who only got 1 sandwich as well. Extremely slow!Sandwhich was decent for a BEC but not worth a plus 30 minute wait. read more

I went in basically to browse and came out with two dessert items. One is in the shape of an orange and orange flavored. The other one I thought was a coconut, but it didn't taste like coconut. It was like a thick custard with what looked like mango filling, sitting on a piece of a cookie, part of the cookie was missing. These are casino style, desserts, and beautiful to look at. I was blown away at the price, however as they were $13 each. YOLO I've brought a menu home and was able to take a good look at it. They have sandwiches, protein shakes, Panini's, salads, gyros, and a number of different kinds of specialty items and platters, including some with steak and salmon or falafel. I noticed that they don't have pork instead they have beef ham or beef bacon. It doesn't say it's Halal, which I was wondering about. The menu prices seem reasonable, so I'm not sure why the desserts were so expensive Service was good, and there was a girl behind the counter who was very friend and knowledgeable. A bit disappointed in what we got for the cost. The restaurant is small and seems like more of a takeout spot. Only a couple of sit-down tables and there were some teenagers there taking over most of the tables. We stopped in to try a few things on a Friday during lent, so I was looking for a fish option. Their menu seems a bit confusing as far as the cuisine goes. I went with the salmon platter, which came with rice, salad and French fries. The portion was large, which was good, but it lacked in flavor. I ended up eating the salmon since I paid for it, but threw away the rice. The salad also didn't seem dressed and I added dressing when I got home. My husband got a chicken caprese pesto sandwich, which he said was good but nothing special. I also had to go home with one of their desserts! I went with a Dubai milk cake. While it was good, I wouldn't say it was worth the price. I definitely want to give them another try and maybe go for breakfast sometime, but a bit disappointed with my first experience. read more

Very strange combination of what is sold in this store, however, the menu items sounded delicious and the dessert items looked delicious! I ended up getting a couple desserts because that is what drew me to try the shop in the first place. Both the lady next to me and myself were not really sure what some of the items were. I stepped up and asked the gentleman behind the counter and he was very accommodating. He told us what the items were made up with that we asked about and also gave us the prices upon our request. I ordered two items to try and they were delicious!! There were a couple I would have liked to have tried, but I felt the price point on those items (the ones that looked like the fruits that their flavors represented) were too high and out of my budget for a single small dessert. I definitely want to go back and try almost everything in their deli area! I'd like to go sometime with a friend and order a sandwich from their menu and have a seat in the shop. There are a few tables there. They were getting a steady line of customers the entire time I was in there and had a number of workers to accommodate everyone. I'm sure this little shop will be a great addition to downtown Baldwinsville!! The only downfall I'd say is the parking and traffic. I could absolutely not get out of there and take a left. I waited and waited and ended up having to turn right and could not get into the left turn lane from there either. I had to go to the right and go down the road in order to turn around do I could go in the direction I wished to go. Maybe next time I'll have to park across the street and walk over just so I can possibly get out into the main street and be headed in the direction that I need to go. I'm not sure if it was because of the time of day, but I've noticed that it is extremely difficult to navigate traffic on this stretch in Baldwinsville. I wish this business good luck in their future. As a new place in town I believe they will do fabulously and I can't wait to go back! read more

For starters, when you walk inside, the building is cold and the door slams loudly behind you with nothing to slow it down to make it silent, adding to the unwelcoming ambiance where nobody looked at you and welcomed you in. Talk about a tough crowd. I could count with my friend atleast three times the flooring looked like it was copy and pasted from some cheap design from an AI prompt on "marble flooring" and put down. Speaking of which, their laziness shows in the zero effort they decided to showcase along with their food for the use of AI in their sign and menu layout Instead of reaching out to try and hire a local artist or give someone a job, because resorting to sloppy, wonky, out of order, wrongly lit food instead of jesus, I dunno, atleast taking jpegs of real food from google and slapping it on the logo would've been better. The chocolate labubu bars are printed out AI images, the food is sold for ridiculous prices and things like a smoothie I could make at home for 5 instead of 12 bucks. Which also by the way, takes forever for someone to make even when it's just one person in the store. Overall, it's a glorified, boogey snack shop that e don't need considering we already have a snack shop, this establishment is lazy, and honestly I would've rather seen another smoke shop put in that vacant spot next to dunkin instead of...that.
