we did the evening speakeasy, two nights in a row. was a little warm in there, needs more ac. the build up of intro into the speakeasy was great, hosts were great. Very good experience. Will we go back? Yes. And dont order the japanese drink unless you want to experience Japan. This did not sit well with other drinks, as it was handed to me to finish. Gross. But I am a US guy, and willing to try anything new; this was gross. know what you are getting into with this one. all other drinks and not going to give it away, but the presentations were great. Stopped in on a Saturday for a latte after a hike and was surprised by the number of delicious sounding drinks on the menu! They have a few sweets in a dessert case. The shop is on the smaller side with only a few small tables. The workers were friendly and prepared my drinks quickly. I was in and out in 5 minutes. My latte tasted fine though the milk was definitely too hot and burned my tongue when I took my first sip. I got my husband the Spumoni and he enjoyed it-especially the cherry whip cream! read more

Solid coffee on the Gatlinburg strip. I had an iced latte, it was decent. People were flocking there for surgery, foam covered desserts masquerading as coffee. Is it amazing coffee? No, but you're not going to Gatlinburg for Michelin star restaurants. It's probably the best you'll find in the area. Cute shop, they have parking and a few tables outside. This is a very cute place with great service. I got a pistachio cappuccino, I asked for light syrup and the flavor was overpowering not a fan. We also ordered the Bella violi and that was pretty good very sweet as expected. I had high expectations of the pastries, they weren't bad but nothing about them stood out (we ordered a glazed donut and a beignet) I won't discard it yet as I do think there is a lot of potential to this location. They'll were nice about letting us going inside to order with our dog and waiting for the drink. Staff was decent but could have been more personable. The drinks were good but a bit over priced. I paid $19 for two coffees. I enjoyed my coffee and the cold foam on top but I was not expecting that price range for them. read more

My goal when I go out of town is to stay away from large coffee chains. So I was relieved when I found The Coffee Syndicate. It was super cute and tucked away in a shopping plaza. I loved the aesthetic and it wasn't busy at all. They have a lot of creative drinks on the menu. I probably didn't need an extra shot of espresso in my drink, but when in Gatlinburg... The only drawback to these creative coffees is that it priced pretty high. My drink with the extra shot was $12 and some change. read more

I walked in and ordered a Cortado, but from the very beginning the barista had a sour, unwelcoming attitude. When I jokingly asked if she'd get mad if I didn't like it, she gave off a negative aura instead of any hospitality. What I was served was not a Cortado--it was simply a double espresso drowned in steamed milk. Bitter, unbalanced, and nothing close to the traditional drink. When I pointed this out, another barista excused it by saying, "Well, the way our machine works, that's the way it comes out." Then she told the original barista, "Should we go get Brooke to explain to him how it works?" As if I need a lecture on what I already know. If a shop can't prepare a basic coffee drink properly, at least be upfront so a customer can order something else. Instead, I was met with condescension and poor service. If you actually value a true Cortado, skip this place. What you'll get here is a bad imitation served with an even worse attitude. For clarity, here's how a traditional Cortado is properly made: * Double espresso (2 oz) * Equal part steamed milk (2 oz) -- lightly textured, never frothy * Served in a small glass (around 4 oz total) Balanced. Smooth. Simple. Not debatable. Maybe print this recipe out and tape it behind the counter for whoever Brooke is and all of the barista staff. read more

I really enjoyed this coffee shop, they have a lot of flavor options! Their menu also gives lots of suggestions for flavor pairings which helps give you some new coffee types to try! I went back multiple times while on vacation so I could try the different combinations. I really annoyed their espresso as well and picked up some beans to take home. It has a super cute design on the inside, and a few seating options outside. The parking is very scarce, so that is a downside. But there are plenty of shops to explore in the area if you are walking around. read more

Ordered a vanilla iced latte with cold foam - i come from south florida so im aware we can be coffee snobs but i reeeally dislike when a coffee shop labels AND PRICES themselves as speciality when they use Monin syrups and sweet cream cold from a whip cream can found at the store. This is a front for the speakeasy in Gatlinburg. The speakeasy was a big disappointment! We had to wait outside before we could be seated. After being seated it took 20 minutes to get our drinks! I ordered a scotch that they offered but then found out that they did not have that scotch! So I waited even longer to get my alternative offer! Very disappointed in this experience overall.......... Ambiance was great, very cool and upscale establishment. Unfortunately, the coffee and pastries were not up to spec with the atmosphere. The coffee seemed specialty, but was not. coffee was amazing, and i had gotten what seemed like a plain chocolate frosted donut and ended up being the best donut i've ever had. it was so soft and tasty, and it had a very good filling but i don't know what it was. it's also a super cute looking cafe, it's hidden away from most of the general foot traffic into this tiny shopping center but i definitely recommend it! the employees were also very sweet. read more
