There is only 1 person that works here that is friendly and everyone else is just rude! It's weird, they're nice for a min or two then go back to rude especially if you're specific about what kind of coffee you want. They also seem to use too much syrup in their drinks but for the most part the coffee is good! The shop is adorable and usually has a pretty inviting atmosphere. But the customer service needs a pick me up big time. Just because you're busy at certain times of the day doesn't mean the customer service needs to go down the drain. read more

Yup, good coffee. The espresso shots were nice and dark, the mocha was chocolaty, and the barista was happy to make a custom mocha with caramel syrup for my wife. The atmosphere was comfortable as was the furniture. I can't think of more to ask, but we'll go back tomorrow morning to check on the breakfast items as well. wink, wink ;-) We'll let you know... Follow up; here for breakfast and had to get the cinnamon roll to go with the sausage, egg, and cheese croissants. The rolls were fresh out of the oven and gave this place a really pleasant smell to wake up to. Still impressed and will take the opportunity to come here again. read more

The one veggie breakfast burrito I had was relatively disappointing: lacking substance and overly salty for me, but they get a full 5 stars for having non-dairy powdered creamer and fake sugar. I love powdered creamer in my coffee, and it's always slightly a letdown when I have to use half and half or something like that in my coffee and really obnoxious when my fake sugar of choice isn't available cause the coffee shops are trying to be...IDK fancy or something. read more

I am NOT a 'coffee's coffee' kind of guy - I know a 30 second shot when I smell one. These guys have always done a very good job at treating people right and making some of the best drinks in town. As part of treating people right, they keep their prices fair. I can't say that the place is the cleanest, but the place is almost always humming. It's tough to keep house when the house is full. They have great outdoor seating areas, both on the front porch and under the shade of ancient trees. Come by on sultry summer Thursday nights for local live music and cold drinks. We visit this coffee house anytime we are in the area and have never been disappointed! It's a cute little yellow house with a couple of rooms of seating. It has a very cozy atmosphere and plenty of windows to look out if it's raining or snowing. So nice! Any coffee drink we have ever gotten has been spot on. Whether it's a cafe mocha, a latte, or cappuccino they have been perfect. This time they even had eggnog for a delicious holiday treat! They are always made the perfect temperature and the coffee they use is bold, but not bitter. Just great flavor! The barista has alway been so pleasant and enjoyable. I absolutely love this place and have ever since my first visit several years ago. The atmosphere is wonderful! It's a coffee shop inside of an older, two story house. It has a very cozy feel, and the baristas are always friendly. There's also a garden and porch if you'd rather sit outside. The different drinks are also delicious with a fairly large variety. I brought my boyfriend here as part of a tour of where I grew up, despite the fact that he's not a coffee drinker. The other options on the menu allowed us to each get something we would enjoy, and he actually asked to come by a second time because he liked it so much. We also tried two of their muffins and enjoyed those as well. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Definitely my favorite coffee shop in town! Dee and Phuong have got a great thing going here. It is a great location right on Main street, the coffee is served in the kitchen of an old Sears bought house, and the rooms downstairs and upstairs are very relaxing. There is internet flowing throughout the house so its easy to find a strong signal. In the mornings, it's quite busy and you can hear Phuong's insane laughter throughout the place...its the kind of laughter that makes you want to laugh with him. The coffee is some of the best I've ever had around, and always made just the way I want it (STRONG!) In one of the rooms upstairs, there are several books to choose from if you're just passing the time...and the garden outside is so beautiful and well maintained. This is definitely the place to check out if you ever drive through this mountain town. read more

Ok, so granted I did not sleep very well and I don't have more then four sips of a latte in me, but I don't even want this freaking latte. Was nervous right away by the lay out of the place. Quickly had the fear of, "oh no, this might be one of those religious based coffee shops. Then I see the two young, unhip "baristas" working the counter. Before I had my change back my vanilla latte was getting handed to me. Did I hear the steamer running? One sip and I new the answer was no. 0 foam in a latte. The dude just took the extra milk from the last batch and made me a drink. I brought it up to the counter and asked for one with some foam in it. He simply poured some more left over crap on top. Ok, one more sip right now... nope this thing sucks, I'm out of here. Pretty poor right now, but not worth drinking the rest. Hope I can find something else. read more

What a surprise as I was traveling through town--my only time to Montrose. Talked to the owners who were fun, they had all the papers I like to see, and the the coffee and muffins were just fine. So it is not one thing, but everything, this placed nailed it where my son and I got back in our car saying wow, that is how to run a business and what a nice retail experience. My only other comment is that if there were more places like that, Starbucks would be out of business. It is evident when you put people first, the rest will follow. read more

Stopped in here because it seemed like the find of funky coffee house you'd find in Portland. The seating area is a little strange - more cafeteria space than lounge space - not the end of the world. I ordered a latte and cringed when I saw the barista turn on the steam, set the milk down, and walk away. That lack of attention doesn't usually produce a great coffee and that was definitely the case here. I'm disappointed to say that this is one of the worst coffees I've had in recent memory. I'd rather have drip.. or even starbucks. Staff was super friendly which is why this review carries more than one star. When we are in Montrose, we'll stick with Looney Bean. read more
