My wife and I visit The Coffee House & Café regularly, and it has become one of our favorite places in La Grange. Today, I had the opportunity to sponsor a networking event there with about 40 people in attendance, and I can't say enough about how wonderful Jeff and his entire staff were. They were incredibly kind, attentive, accommodating, and willing to help with anything we needed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it's a beautiful place for a cup of coffee, a conversation, or a networking event. I stopped in after driving in town to visit a friend. I looked up coffee and found this place. I have been coming to La Grange for 15 years and was very happy to see this location here. I parked and walked in to see a huge place with lots of seats. You walk to the right to the counter via lots of for sale items. It was the oddest coffee shop I have ever been in. I order a caramel latte, and a meatloaf sandwich. I walked to the bathroom which they only had one for this large place but it was clean. They brought out my latte as I was walking around looking at things, so I sat down and wow it was super tasty. Even had a little Biscoff biscuit with it. The sandwich came out shortly afterwards. It was good but not great. But the potato salad was very good. I would come back just for the latte, but would try other food items. Maybe the meatloaf just need more sauce or something. Not sure. It just wasn't doing it for me today. The pastries looked very good and can't wait to try one or more. Odd I never selected done on this review and I have been back again for a hot vanilla latte and a meatloaf sandwich again. Just as yummy as my last visit, I also got potato salad which was very good. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. There wasn't much of a line, yet it took quite a while to receive our drinks. When the coffee finally arrived, it had a noticeably burnt taste that made it difficult to enjoy. We had high hopes, but between the slow service and the quality of the coffee, we likely won't be returning. read more

Ordered a caramel iced latte. It was hot and ice melting. Any flavoring is extra. Unfortunately it wasn't great and the service seemed flustered. Their food smelled great though but would pass on the coffee. read more

As a NY'er visiting the area, I can be tough at times on food. Something's just cannot compare to NYC bagels or pizza. We stopped here this morning for breakfast. They stopped serving breakfast at 11 and we arrived at 11:10 am. So we could not get breakfast. I did order a plain bagel with butter. The bagel was toasted on the inside but not on the outside. That was bad. That's the biggest reason why I gave 4 stars. The coffee was good. The Coffee house is beautiful inside. Was not expecting to shop for local things in the area as well. read more

This place gets 5 stars for the space, location, food variety and friendly atmosphere. I don't like the coffee at all and usually just stick to tea or food. This coffee spot is easily located in La Grange. It's a huge space with many seating options. The menu appeared to be large, especially for lunch. It was slimmer for breakfast but we loved the cinnamon rolls. Our coffee was delicious and they were able to make anything with asked. The servers were kind and knowledgeable. They even accommodated the switch to oat milk. There are many items for sale around the place. The faith-based references were subtle. Some suggestions are to have the menu on a board/printout as it was difficult to see what was available on all the small signs. Clarification/suggestions for the coffee drinks would be useful. We would like to have the items for sale in one location, such as behind the counter (where the tables are now). I'd like to see the tables moved to the left front with the sofas/chairs behind them. There was a lot of texture on the walls so maybe categorizing it with the various areas would be less distracting. It did take a little while to get our drinks. The music could be a little louder, particularly when you walk inside. I appreciated the real dishes and silverware. I would have loved to have my coffee in a real cup too :) Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'll be back! read more

Visited early afternoon and stayed for a cappuccino with my wife. It was really good and served hot (as all coffee should be) and came with a small biscuit. The place is open seating so you can choose a comfortable sofa, table, or even an extended bar where we noticed someone working on their laptop, as well as a mother playing cards on a table towards the back with her older kids. Everyone was friendly and we had a nice, relaxing time. It is a large space with an assortment of items spread throughout that gives it a somewhat eclectic feel. I was in town and needed a place to do some remote work with wifi. Spent about 5 hours here. Ended up having breakfast and lunch since I was using their facility. I had the raspberry white chocolate scone and a medium mocha for breakfast and both were excellent. For lunch I had their chicken salad on croissant with potato salad. The sandwich was huge! Two people could have shared it and not been able to eat all of it. Potato salad was ok (pretty average). The place was very comfortable and had soft Christian music playing in the background. You really couldn't tell that is was Christian music and it was relaxing. Overall, I would have no problems recommending this establishment to people who are in the area. read more

A friend and I wanted to meet for a cup of coffee and we found this little gem. It has a Friends meets the Cracker Barrel feel to it. Lots of great coffee and scones selections along with a few food menu items. The limited food menu was actually pretty nice in that they don't loose their identity as a Coffee House. The entire ambience was very refreshing and relaxing. It's the type of place you could hang with your friends and get caught up. The Coffee House is amazing! Such kind and attentive staff who explain everything on their menu and make sure you are satisfied with everything you get! They have such a good variety of coffee flavorings and bakery items! We got pasta salad and coffee as well as a red velvet cupcake just to try some of their menu! Everything was great, we dined in and it was brought to our table in a few minutes, we were checked on several times during our stay. The inside of this place is huge and is filled with such cute stuff, candles, cups, stickers, planners, hats, candy and so much more! All at a reasonable price. The food is okay and the drinks aren't great either but I think the barista is getting better with each drink , it wasn't a bad experience because I've been here a lot. It has a nice environment kind of like a furniture store. Quiet little coffee place. The barista asked for my advice on a matcha latte ,I watched her make it and she used 3 TABLESPOONS! Of matcha ! No sweetener, a splash of milk and water. It was horrible. But I guess give it a try. The lattes are okay. The service is good. read more
