They have added some machines since I was last here. There's a snobowling/skeeball which is cool. 1.00 instead of 50c, like at RBB, though it doesn't make an annoying noise so that's a win. There's pac man, halo, a motor cycle game etc. Besides skeeball, I did a round of ninja turtles, guitar hero (2$, fyi), and John Wick pinball. The LoTR and the Transformers pinball machines were also of interest, but I was out of quarters. You can buy a tap card to load $ on if you lack quarters. On the guitar hero, it's been a decade, or two since I have played even beginner level was tricky. I loved playing pat benatar, fun song! I love a great arcade bar! I went on a Friday night, and The Coin Slot was quite busy. Outside, there was a live band playing and some food trucks. Inside, there are all kinds of arcade games and pinball machines to choose from. There are a few beers and ciders to choose from, along with some airport bottles of liquor. The price of the arcade have varies based on the type of game. I played the Pokemon pinball machine, and that was $1. You can play with quarters or get a refillable card. read more

The coin slot has a fun atmosphere, a great drink selection and rotating food trucks. Well, it did have a good atmosphere. It's more Dave N Busters now. Be aware that it is crowded often. The games aren't really vintage anymore. It seems they put all the vintage games away so be ready to pay $1 for modern pinball. Worst yet, it's lost its soul and its charm. The crane games with cheap prizes, halo, Mario kart, and more new additions make it feel like every other arcade. Feels more like a place for kids than a fun vintage bar. It hurts me to say this, but after nearly a decade of patronage, there's nothing here for me anymore. But if you have preteens or kids, stop by. It feels more like a Chuck E Cheese than a vintage arcade bar. read more

Neat place, but watch the change machine. I put in $1 and got fifty cents back. Asked the bartender, she gave me the additional quarters and said to tell her if it did it again. It did. Then I talked to my husband who said "yeah I know, I put in a 5 and got only $2.50." The bartender gave him the additional money when asked, but not sure if everyone is checking if they put in tens or twenties. Maybe it just happened today, but seems weird. read more

Overall, i was unfortunately disappointed with my experience here mainly because the machines here were grossly overpriced. Namely : Guitar Hero and Mario Kart. You only get so little for so less. I did enjoy that this place had non-alcoholic drinks as well but for some reason the non-alcoholic drinks are more expensive than buying an actual alcoholic beverage. Staff was friendly, thankfully they weren't too many people here too. They have pizza here as well inside the arcade. Restrooms are in fair condition. Great variety of pinball games which I was a fan of. Besides the minimal selection, I was left pretty disappointed with my experience here. read more

Loved the place, Not something you see every day. You had pizza parlor, Arcade room & bar all under roof. Outside they had elevated stage & food truck in the parking lot. This place is exceptionally rad! So much pinball, so many games & beverages to enjoy. Came to traverse city for a kids museum that was booked up and couldn't get in. Found this spot on Yelp & was an absolute winner. The owner was hustling left and right organizing things, ensuring the place to run smoothly. We ordered seltzers, ciders, beers & canned cocktails. Many high end pinball units. $1 bags of popcorn, hundreds of beverage choices... And free play skeeball! Very cool setup. If I'm ever in traverse city again, I'm coming here. read more

We had dogs, fries and drinks st the hot dog shop that is inside the Coin Slot. Yummy coney dogs made with Koegel Vienna dogs. nice crispy fries. Drink selection was Fago($2) and lemonade ($4) my kid didn't like his lemonade. We were happy with our food otherwise. Last time we were at the Coin Slot it was pay one price to play unlimited games. Now it is pay by the games. A little disappointing for the kids. - we gave them each some cash and they played till it was gone. I sat outside outside while they played the video games. Nice little patio with chill music playing. The outside has a bar and a few more video games. Super fun vibe. Definitely will return when we are back in town. read more

This place is WILD. There's so much going on here that it's hard to describe. Inside is an barcade but only pinball machines, with a beer bar and some super expensive liquor. There's also a pizza shop inside as well. Outside you have a good truck kinda thing and on top of it theres a dj playing music with a dance floor. It's all over the place but its fun. Plus your in TVC, there aint much to do at night. read more

The family was walking around after dinner at a local place, and the Coin Slot caught our eyes. A band was setting up outside on top of the container, so we wandered in. While we didn't sample any of the libations, we did play a bunch of pinball. They have a lot of games, and some classic video games, and everything is in good condition (except for the Rush pinball that was acting up when we were there). Lots of the newer machines, including some I've never seen in person. The atmosphere is really cool, too. This is a must-stop when you're in TC! read more

Very cool old school arcade. Friendly and helpful staff. Kids got to play several games from when I was a kid. Donkey Kong, Frogger,Pac Man, pinball games and more. I used a stool to bring my kids up to the perfect height. They even offer food and drinks if you get hungry. Some tables to take a break and energize back up. read more

Thank you, Yelp! What a find! Fun night! They have canned drinks and each pinball game has a cup holder. Multiple vodka mixed drinks to choose from. I want to give it five stars but very disappointed there is only one single bathroom. One toilet, that's it. There were kids playing video games in the back and adults drinking in the front, eating pizza, but only one bathroom. Beware! I had to wait a while to use it. read more

A little something for everyone; beers for mom and dad, tons of arcade games for kids. For $8 you can get an hour of play, or unlimited play for $11. I kind of wish there was a "little kid" price because my 6 year old lost interest after two games, but I guess that's how you make money! They had lots of local beers on tap and the bartender was super kind and knowledgeable. I went with the Tenpenny which was a nice Blonde Ale. My husband had the Ball Peen, which he said was good. My heart skipped a beat to see Rampage and Contra on deck and an old-school Skee Ball machine. This is a great place to kill an hour or two. read more

I stepped inside and into a 1980s and 1990s portal! Pinball machines and video games lined the walls. Kids playing pool and Two Sons Pizza serving up the best food. My husband and I love arcade bars, and we were so excited to find this on the way to downtown from our B&B. There is everything from pinball to skeeball and everything in between available. The skeeball is ancient and some of the balls are a little wonky, but still so much fun to play. Open late also, in case you missed the memo on TC closing up shop around 9pm. Cans are available for purchase featuring local brews and other drinks. Great atmosphere and people. We were able to leave a whole stack of quarters on the table to go out and smoke and everything was as we left it. Highly recommend for anyone out late who wants something to do while they enjoy their drinks. read more

Stopped in while passing through town. 18 pinball machines. All tables are in great condition, even the ones that don't have the local Stern Pinball representative to service them. What's most important is that every machine seems to have it's sound effects / audio settings turned up all the way, which is exactly what you want to hear when you pay for a game. I do not know what kind of weird blue laws Traverse City has, but I don't think anyone in this state has the legal authority to mix a cocktail from hard liquor. read more

So cool! $8 for unlimited games - pinball cost quarters. Had drinks and was a great way to spend an hour or so! Had some of my favorite games and the OG ones that everyone loved as a kid. Cool vibe, great games, and a lot of fun. We didn't eat, but I will tell you the pizza smelled delicious! There was a wing food truck in the parking lot and you could play bags outside too. This place is literally the best! I promise you that it's as cool as it looks, and I'm so glad we finally went. My husband and our son played the vintage arcade games for an hour which is $8 per wrist band for the hour. Endless free play on all games including the most popular ones. They do offer wrist bands for a longer time slots including all day but I can't recall pricing. They do also have outdoor games and seating and pinball machines are in the back room by the pizza order counter. The pinball machines require quarters. They are a tap house for the workshop brewing company so a nice lineup of craft beers are offered. They also have a big comfy couch with Nintendo 64 and ps2 hooked up to play. Basically it's the perfect hangout with the kids or even for a weekend with friends. We had a blast and will go back!!! You can host parties here too read more

super fun spot, a go to when we are in the area... place has grown/changed quite a bit since last visit. there is now food inside the building (wednesday's off)... both arcade & pinball as well as pool table. all paid with quarters (no tokens!) and skee ball is free. a few of the arcade machines ate my quarters - but, when brought up to the staff, they reimbursed the expense. staff very friendly. read more

I nerded out here so hard! I also realized I am not any good at pinball. lol! I came on Halloween which made it extra spooky and fun and I liked the atmosphere that night. :) The bartender is nice though their drink options are quite limited. I didn't complain about that though because at least they have something if you wanna get your sip on. It's a bit small and cramped in the coin slot. :/ And the games that they have are so rare that once one opens that someone really likes they tend to stay at it.. all night. So on a busy night it can be hard to score the one you want if its popular. They still take quarters for most or all machines I cant remember but they have a coin machine that takes money to get quarters if you need them! I would visit again, I had a good time. I've been to a lot of "bar-cades" and the Coin Slot is pretty cute. I loved all the artwork inside, it definitely gave you intersting things to look at. They have just been licensed to serve beer and they offer about 5 Workshop brews on tap. For the people who don't drink, there is faygo and water. I'm not sure how busy it gets in there, but it's pretty small. I can't imagine more than like 20 people inside if you're wanting to play games. For all the video they have a very fair price of $8 per hours or $10 for all day! If you want to grab a beer it's $14 for one beer plus an all day game pass which will save you $2. I went in for the pinball and it's not included in the game pass, which I expected. The games were well taken care of and they had a nice selection of about 8 or 10. In comparison to other places I did find the prices to be a little higher than most. $1 for one play or $2 for 3 plays. The Coin Slot was fun for a drink an about an hour, but I can't imagine staying there all night. read more

I'm not a gamer but my gf is. 5 stars for the concept of not needing coin or a card to play some retro arcade games. $15 for unlimited play wristband AND a beer. That's it. Then you can jump on any arcade game that's open. The place isn't huge by any means but it has a dolid secection/variety of games. Super perk - the wing food truck in the parking lot. Pretty disappointed when we walked in here recently. The family stopped in and had about 30 minutes to play some games...had a few bucks to spend, only to find out you MUST buy a wristband to play the arcade machines....you can't just play individual games. I wasn't about to drop a bunch of money on each of my kids just so they could play a handful of games in our allotted time there. We ended up dropping a couple bucks on pinball (which are the only 'pay per game' option), but they were really bummed they couldn't play Frogger, Skeeball etc without a wristband. Ordered a pizza, which was really quite good...but probably wouldn't go back unless they get rid of the wristband scam. read more
