This was an amazing couples dinner cruise! There were 8-10 couples but yet somehow we felt like the only ones on board! A saxophone player played to some background music and was amazing. The hosts on board waited on us bringing us drinks before our dinner. You had the option of eating dinner on the top of the ship or below in the cabin. It was delicious food and the hub and I both had surf and turf. The host and "captain" Sergio was courteous and funny. He really made you think about each other as a couple and had everyone do a little dance onboard at the end.

This was a fantastic experience! We sadly went on a very rainy day so we were worried it was going to be cancelled or not very enjoyable. They have an indoor seating area for situations like this! And it was still amazing! We were able to drink, dance, and eat while also being able to meet new people and learn about others travels! Though you don't get to choose how you want your steak cooked, the flavor was amazing and every part of the three course meal was incredible! I would definitely recommend this to couples or groups traveling to Cancun or celebrating special events!

Of the 5 activities we did with the Go Cancún pass, this was the most disappointing. By far the worst food of our entire trip. Cheapest cut of steak, un-seasoned vegetables that came right out of a microwave steam bag, plain dinner roll, undercooked baked potato, and Costco cheesecake. No butter, no sauce, no seasoning, no flavor. Not even an appetizer course. The drinks were watery and clearly made with canned syrups instead of fresh juice. For $120 per ticket they served us $4 of food and drink. Unbelievable rip off. Though I would not recommend the meal, I will say that the staff did a great job. The table service was prompt and attentive. Sergio did a great job of emeceeing and provided great entertainment. They worked hard for us and we tipped generously - hopefully they get to keep all their tips. He and the rest of the crew are why this review is 2 stars instead of one.

Good times, good times. I was expecting just a dinner on the ship, but they actually take you out to sea. So you get a view and there was a guy on the saxophone, so you get a show. It was fun. Good crew. You are actually on the ship with a bunch of other people so it is like a mini party on the ship. Be weary, probably not too Covid friendly. The crew was masked up, but other passengers were not. My only other complaint for us was that the food quality just wasn't good. Lobster was not fresh and the steak was cheap. But still a good time. Lots and lots of drinks, drink as much as you want, it's included. My fiancée and I had a great time.

We are generally a little skeptical of these kinds of tours/events, but we were really amazed by the overall experience. Sergio, the MC for the boating adventure worked the crowd like a professional. He kept things light and fun while the crew ran free drinks non-stop to everyone. Then eating a freshly grilled lobster while watching the sunset brought a romantic tone to the event, which was topped off with romantic moonlight dancing to live saxophone music. Sergio made sure everyone got up to dance and it made for a very romantic evening. Best night of our trip (and we come to Cancun every year). We highly recommended it for couples, ok for groups of friends, not sure I think it would be a great time for singles unless you are very cool being entertained by yourself. I think the 5:30 sunset cruise is the best. You dance in moonlight and see sunset. And incidentally we are a gay couple and the crew and Sergio made us feel very welcomed.

The music and service was excellent! The crew were attentive and focused on service. When you boarded the ship you were given a drink, I'm not a consumer of alcoholic beverages and it was palatable so I would question how much alcohol was in the drink. After the first drink I asked for pineapple juice and it was awful! The views were breathtaking and the rose that was given at registration was a nice touch. However, this was advertised as a romantic dinner cruise. We were seated shoulder to shoulder with strangers, not very romantic but the music was excellent. I had the steak and lobster for dinner. The attached a try to the deck to serve the food. The steak was very thin and overcooked for my liking. Lobster was good, dessert was cheesecake it was tasty but parts of it was still frozen. The mixed vegetables taste like microwaved vegetables in a bag, needed more time in the microwave. The tour guide did an excellent job of keeping you informed and engaged. He was entertaining and enthusiastic. The Columbus looked more like a pirate ship to me but what do I know about ships? Lol Go for the music, views, service and the opportunity to meet people. If you're looking for a romantic dinner go to any of the nearby restaurants that have sunset views with excellent food and drinks. Hope g try his review is helpful.

Really cute cruise! Pros: Getting greeted with a welcome drink Service is great. Waiters come to check on your drinks and to make sure everything is ok It's nice getting able to talk to other passengers and converse over dinner Food was pretty good Dessert was the best (that day was cheesecake) The host guy was really sweet and funny all throughout Can get good pictures See a beautiful sunset Can see fish too (best if you throw bread) Cons: Boat is a little small, not everyone gets a seat and table. Everyone can sit down but they're more like benches with portable tables. It might be weird at first but it's not as bad as it sounds Bathroom stalls don't close that well (lol my sister accidentally walked in on someone on the toilet....). They do close just gotta make sure

Outstanding!! My wife and I both felt that this was the BEST of the four excursions/tours that we booked on our 7-day visit to Cancun!! The food was fresh and very delicious, ( we both ordered the "Surf and Turf" dinner selection), the staff/crew were all very pleasant, cordial, and attentive, Sergio, the host for the evening, was top-notch, the ship was very beautiful, and it all helped capture the entire romantic ambiance!! This was the PERFECT way to cap off our visit to Cancun!! Our other excursions that we had booked that week, had various issues/problems, from feeling rushed, shortened time spans on site visits, to "sales pitches" for related products/ items while en route to various destinations, to poor communication skills, almost "scolding" demeanors, and poor English translations, (70-75% Spanish to 25-30% English, and yes, we realized that we were in a foreign country, but when you requested an English speaking guide, you would think it would be closer to a 50-50% ratio!!). THIS excursion, The Columbus Lobster Dinner Cruise, however, was PERFECT, they provided excellent service and absolutely NONE of the issues or problems that I mentioned above!!! GREAT, GREAT, GREAT experience!!!! When visiting Cancun, (couples especially!), The Columbus Lobster Dinner Cruise is a definite "Do Not Miss" event!! 5-Star all the way, and a memorable romantic experience!!!!!

I'm going to break down the experience instead of rating it as a whole and there is a couple reasons for that. To start the experience and the ambiance and the in the moment that you get is 10 starts, hands down that was amazing. The not so amazing things to start was the food. Honestly I'm giving it like 3 stars, I am a food critic for sure as I know my way around the kitchen & every single thing was just blah EXCEPT the cheesecake. The cheesecake was amazing 10 stars and that person should also season the steaks and veggies, cook the lobster tail & freshen up the ceasar salad. 10 stars for the experience 3 stars for the food they would of had a 5 star review from me had it not been for the customer service they provided VIA phone and the transportation services the suggest. Long story short they send out a email that says if you want transportation to & from the hotel please email within 48 hours of your dinner reservation. So I did. I got no response. Tried to call & email again and no response. Finally I got ahold of someone the morning of our excursion and I almost wished she had just let the phone ring. She was rude, didn't care to hear my problem & even hung up on me while I was at breakfast in Cancun making my time on vacation even less as I had to call back & we got the same girl after she refused to answer for 20 mins. My boyfriend talked to her and she gave us no help other than to move my birthday dinner excursion to the next night that she was able to set transportation up for. So we moved it to the following night as they didn't reply to our email and the lady on the phone Patrice was no help. So whatever we went I was so upset I had wasted so much time emailing and calling and talking on the phone only for them to br of no help I knew when I got home I was calling Columbus to tell them about my experience and the manager was just as bad as the rep. She didn't care, did nothing & then even promised to call me back after she checked in to it and never did. I expected an invite back on them or at least my transportation fees back and they did nothing. So upsetting. I travel to the area often in large groups of people and may of booked again but now I will tell everyone to choose something different.

Great trip! Would recommend to other people. The crew was amazing and the food was good. Great atmosphere for couples. Would love to try turn if ever in Cancún again.

I did the sunset cruise, it was a perfect night for a romantic evening. The sax player was good. The food was also good, wish my steak was a thicker cut. Way too thin, but really tasty. The boat was really small. When we all went below I couldn't believe how small it was, it's nothing fancy at all. The seats were so tight. Felt like I was at school seating at the lunch table. Wish I had picture of it, sorry. But overall it was OK. I guess it's what you make it. Bottom line it's a little overpriced for what you actually get. I was on this cruise years ago, and the boat was bigger. So we danced alot. Guess I was missing that.

"Swiss Chicken Enchiladas" for the main course was not what you get at a local Mexican joint -- Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, bathed in a creamy tomatillo sauce with melted cheese and a base of refried black beans. This was a 5-star dish! Also it was empty, there were only 2 other people eating at the bar. We were seated right away, and we had a very nice table right near the dock. I started with a lime margarita, and we ordered all our food at once. There was too much we wanted to try so we ordered extra to have leftovers. My wife got the Ensalada oriental salad, she said it was excellent. The tempura tacos were very good, the fish tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The only complaint and I'm nitpicking was there was not much added flavor. Unless you added the tar tar sauce, you tasted the fish and fillings added. Which by themselves were very good. Next we tried the octopus, I prefer squid to octopus but the wife loves octopus. This was very good, it was chargrilled which made it less chewy the usual, so I really enjoyed it. It came with a yellow sauce that the waitress said was spicy. But I didn't find it spicy, in fact it really had little to no flavor. So I could take it or leave it. Finally we had the shrimp pizza, seemed like a crazy combo, however it was very good. It is a thinner pizza so it was crispy, the flavors all worked well. I'm glad we had the rest to take back to the air b n b for lunch the next day. While we were eating someone started shooting fireworks off of the water. So that was an added bonus. The weather was perfect, the food was great. I finished the dinner with a passion fruit margarita. It was very tasty, the only part I didn't like was the end where alot of seeds would get sucked up. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves, if time permits and there is nowhere else we don't want to try before leaving. I would definitely come back. If I could I'd go 4.5 stars, but as that is not an option I went 4.

We were warmly greeted by the host team and escorted promptly to a great table outside, overlooking the lagoon and the last bits of sunset in the sky. The ambience of La Buena Barra is amazing, great lighting, ceiling fans to keep a light breeze going, and music that is loud enough to prevent you from hearing conversations at other tables, but still allowed us to talk just fine. Our servers Jonathan and Estefany were the sweetest and most attentive that we experienced during our trip! Excellent food recommendations, even advising against getting a second dessert (due to their size) instead of just letting us spend more money there. Absolutely worthy of 5 star service! Ok- the food: very good, probably some of the more distinct flavors we enjoyed in Cancun. Also a very unique selection of cocktails, delivered in all sorts of unique glasses. BUT truly the best thing we ate was the corn ice cream! We shared an appetizer (empanadas, highly recommend), shared a large entree (ribeye tacos, comes with 7), a cocktail, side of corn, and dessert- ended up being around $1200 plus tip.
