It was so fun meeting Michelle, she's so happy to share and teach others, it really made the whole experience that much better. It's definitely a beginners space and the class was lacking some guidance/direction. We were allowed to make as much as we wanted and play around with whatever ideas we had. Everyone has a different learning style, so this teaching method may work really well for some, while others (like me!) might prefer a more hands-on, step-by-step approach. They have way too many options (which is problematic for someone like me because I wanna do them all haha). There are stencils, tape, literally all kinds of tools to help you create your masterpiece. They even have finished color swatches so you can see what you'll end up with, which I appreciated. They lay out the prices for each piece on the shelf so there are no surprises. There's a $15 paint fee then the cost of your item (most average about $26). Their pricing is absolutely worth it in my opinion. I love that they have a "stay as long as you want" policy and I was told you can also bring your item home and come back another time to finish if needed too. We walked in on a late Saturday afternoon and our items were ready for pickup the following Wednesday! The shop was spacious with painting tables inside and out. I love the variety of pottery selections. They range from trinkets and ornaments to large vases and planting pots. Customer service was impeccable. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and shown to a table. Once we chose our items to paint, an employee gave us an orientation of the paints and tools station. There are signs everywhere that give inspiration and painting technique instructions. I expected to be given a limit on colors, tools, and even paint time, but they encouraged us to just have fun - no limits given. It was a terrific first experience at Petroglyph. We can't wait to come back!
