I went to the Colour Parlor randomly based completely on yelp reviews near where I live. I am so glad I did because it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Monica was able to take me in same day which was great right from the start. Then she was so attentive from beginning to end despite my indecisiveness on what I wanted for my hair. Started seeing Jess at The Color Parlor this week. She did my daughter's hair first and Jess gave her exactly what she wanted. A cute bob with purple ends. Very reasonably priced. I decided to give Jess a try as well. I needed all over color and highlights. And after only using box dye and trimming myself at home for two years I feel like a brand new woman. I regularly see Karli for my own hair, and she is fantastic. She is a color expert, and her haircuts are also excellent. Today, my son desperately needed a haircut. We've been to cheap places in the past, and it's always a disappointment. Also, he's super sensitive about getting his haircut and actually refuses to go. He's very self conscious if his hair doesn't look good. Today I took him to Yazmin for a real professional haircut, and the results were fantastic - just exactly what he asked for. June 23rd 12:30pm cut June 29 1pm dye, tried to get rid of me July 1 3:30pm fixed it I found this place through Yelp and thought this would be my new go to after moving to the area. It left a sour taste in my mouth and won't be returning. In summary: some stylists lack professionalism and decorum when talking about their clients once they've left and are loud enough for the salon to hear, they cannot manage their appointments, and the work is not great quality. The haircut: I was scheduled for a haircut on June 22nd with Sammi. At the appt, I described to her in detail the type of long layer cut I wanted with a u-shaped bottom. I fully trusted her and didn't look until the end. I felt as though too much length was cut off but I didn't protest since I did have some damage. I paid $65 plus a $10 cash tip- a tip which Sammi kept trying to decline. Unsure why. It wasn't until I got home that I used a mirror and noticed the bottom looked more straight than U and the layers were not well defined. I was definitely not happy about that but I couldn't see that at the salon since I wasn't offered a mirror to take a look and I also forgot to show inspo pictures, so at the same appt i scheduled a second appt with Sammi to give me brunette lights for which she quoted me $150. The dye: I showed up June 29th at 12:50pm for my 1pm appt. because I like punctuality. I didn't see Sammi so I tried asking the patrons seated in the waiting area if they had to check in. Nobody knew because nobody greets you when you walk in. You just wait. So I sat and assumed Sammi would appear at 1pm. At 12:54pm I received a text letting me know Sammi was running behind and that it's best if I return later or in a few days. LOL Excuse me?? Y'all ask me that question 6 minutes before my appointment that I had booked a week prior? The audacity. That should have been my sign to leave, but the owner, Lacy, saw my expression and Sammi greeted me by maybe 1:05. I wouldn't have minded if Sammi approached me and told me herself she was running behind and needed 15 minutes, I prefer direct communication over being asked to show up later only a few minutes before my appt via text. Is gas $2 or somethin'? Anyway, I stayed, Sammi foiled my hair for highlights and said she'd return in 15 minutes. I didn't time her but it seemed longer than that and by the time she returned it seemed like she had left the location? I was worried about my hair once it was being rinsed. In the end, I thought I got what I asked for, which was chocolate brown lights. I was charged ~$220 and gave her a 20% tip, ~$44. Sure it was more than I was originally quoted but I don't mind tipping well when I *think* the work is great quality. WELLLLL..... I got home and checked my hair with a mirror because one wasn't offered again. And I was pissed. I found blonde yellow lights at the bottom of my hair. $270 for patch work? I was going out of town the following day so I waited to contact the salon until my return. The fix: I texted the owner pictures of the blonde pieces and she booked me for that afternoon (July 1) with Sammi to have it fixed. Sammi retoned my entire head again and this time I made sure to ask for a mirror and checked the blonde was gone. And it was. Sammi said I didn't have to pay anything, like Ms. ma'am I sure as hell was not planning to after the money I had already dropped. There was no reason for me to be there again. And will not be. The atmosphere: It's a nice looking place with great lighting. The gown I was given for my initial dye reeked of sweat from the previous client and it was pretty gross. The one for my redo didn't smell like that. The stylists talk a lot of sh*t about their clients. During my cut, stylist Janna was a chair over and was stressing to her client just how much she dislikes millenials and Gen-Zers because they don't want to be overworked and underpaid anymore. She literally said she can't have assistants because they don't want to work long hours for less pay. Entitled much? I believe people should be compensated accordingly for their labor/hours put in, because after all it is labor and not volunteer work. Also, during that visit several stylists were gossiping about two muslim clients who had showed up three times to have their hair fixed and complained that the quote they were given was not what they were charged. Everything that was said could have been avoided with better communication from the salon stylists! They need to be trained to ask questions too. The salon for me is supposed to be a place to relax and feel renewed and I didn't get that at all. I gave this place one too many chances. Overall, it was an alright cut but not what I was looking for, and the dye turned out good but only after a redo. My scalp is now a bit irritated from double toning. I wanted to contribute to the local economy but I'll be returning to my usual girl in Long Beach. :) read more

Her service was thorough and advised my cut based on my hair and face shape, she washed my hair and I was generally content with this service. I came here because it was closer but had received a quote from another service in Temecula which was further for the same price, so I thought. The salon looked great and the stylists were so hospitable and kind. I went in for a haircut -- a lightly, long layered look with some face framing -- and I left feeling absolutely confident! My stylist was Maggie, who I must say is an absolute saint. She knew exactly what I wanted and heard me out on my trauma with layers, so she went slow with the process and talked me through every step. She also noticed I had ear piercings and asked if they were healed, which I found to be very considerate! Maggie is a great conversationalist and keeps it 100% real, and although I don't live nearby, I would definitely come again next time I'm in the area. Stylists like her are very helpful when overcoming fears around hair. I will be less afraid to try new styles! read more

I've been going to Chanowa for about 5 years for cuts and followed her here when she relocated. Chanowa is a great young lady and she knows her stuff when it comes to hair. She has been licensed for many years. If you are going in for a cut from her, expect a consultation, a wash, condition, scalp massage, a pro cut, blow dry and style. You will feel so good walking out of there after she is through with you. The service usually runs about $65 and you can expect to be there for approximately one hour. As far as the salon itself, it's a nice place but after reading some of these other reviews, I do tend to agree that there is no formal greeting or receptionist at the front and there were no friendly hellos when I came in so I initiated them. :) Will post pics later... read more

This was my first time coming to the Colour Parlor. I was desperate to find a good stylist as my 6-year-old had managed to get nearly half of her hair tangled up in the worst knot I'd ever seen. I contacted the colour parlor as I've been worried about how to get my hair done since I had a sudden and rapid growth of white/gray hair all over my entire head (25%). Rather than hide it, I wanted a solution that will blend it in. Lacy introduced me to Amanda who was such a pleasure to work with. Right from the beginning, she listened to everything I said. Celina did a great job on my balayage! I wanted to go ash blonde and although I'll have to come back to get it how light I want it, the color still came out beautifully!
