Unresponsive to communication. The email must go to no-one, even when replying to an email they initiated. No-one answers the phone and the voicemail box is full. A show was cancelled/rescheduled and even though they offered a refund if you cannot make the new showing date, no-one is reachable to follow up and no refund was provided. It has been months at this point with deafening silence. Absolutely despicable for a local business that relies on locals. very disappointing as we had attended prior shows and had a good time, but will not be returning or recommending this establishment going forward. read more

You might miss it walking by, except for the samdwich board that points you down to an intimate room, butTommy Nicchi has carried on a family tradition of bringing great local and national comedians to a stage in the basement of this beautiful old building. I am a fan of the hummus plate but the food has been good on every trip and I have been to shows with 15 people in attendance and sold out, and enjoyed it just as much. There is also trivia and open mic nights there. Highly recommend. read more

Not really sure where that one star review on her came from, I've never had a bad experience with the staff and/or service at The Comedy Works. Sure I've seen some comics here that weren't my cup of tea, but that's in no way the fault of the establishment. I loved the Albany location, and the Saratoga location is just as good---their showroom is probably event better. Love that they're sticking with the comedy club vibe and are keeping it small and intimate. We usually go to dinner before hitting the show so the only food items I can comment on are the pretzels and brownie sundae. The pretzels are served nice and hot with some pretty good mustard, and the brownie sundae is ooey gooey and comes in a bowl as big as your head. The servers are attentive, fast, and pleasant. The showroom is always clean and tidy. I thoroughly enjoy going to comedy shows here. a HUGE plus, no matter who is headlining tickets for Thursday night shows are always $10!!! I love this deal, I've been able to see some of my favorite comedians for insanely affordable prices. My complaint is that they only serve bottled beer, I would love to see them expand to a draught list! read more

We didn't eat here, but had a drink and enjoyed the outstanding comedians! Dwayne Murphy Jr. was first, and he was good. Next was Joe Bubliewicz who was very funny. Joe Bublieshits! Headliner Eric McMahon was hilarious! He had many funny interactions with the crowd. Thankfully he didn't have to deal a group of obnoxious women who were there for a birthday party. They were rightfully kicked out of the show for being drunk & disorderly. We are already looking at future dates to come to a show. Nice venue, and the staff was friendly and attentive. read more

First thing why no air conditioning? It is summer you charge high prices t least get a few fans to circulate the air. Then the comedian was funny for a while but when she starts making fun of the audiance at least buy them a drink, I came for a few laughs not to get laughed at. read more

I haven't been here in a few years, but went last Thursday to celebrate the start of spring break. 10 bucks for a ticket to see the pro show on Thursdays, I think it's 20-25 on the weekend. Even on a rainy Thursday, I had to drive around for 15 minutes to find a place to park on the other side of town. Not sure where everyone else was going, but it wasn't the comedy works. About 20 people in the audience. The warm up act did fine. The second comedian was rattled by the small crowd and kept going back to it. The final act just powered through it and ran all over everything and finished on a high note, about a 90 minute show. Seating was comfortable with good angles. Theater looked a bit old, I've seen better, but I've also seen a lot worse. Service was excellent and not too intrusive on the show. From the left side of the room, where I was, there really was no great way to get back into the lobby or the restrooms without being disruptive. I had a cheeseburger, which was fine and reasonably priced. Fridays and Saturdays they have dinner and a show packages. I didn't know any of the comedians in the main act. I actually went more for the open mic, which follows the main show. It is free, and a few new people entered the audience for this part of the show, but the room filled in with the open mic'ers themselves. They worked on their act, bickered amongst themselves, and reacted to the comics on stage. A very different vibe from the main show. And there were lots of comics, at 5 minutes a piece they went on for 2 hours. And almost all of them were good to excellent. Some were more experienced than others, but none completely bombed. Being there for 4 hours became a bit hard. Almost the entire audience from the main show left at some point during the open mic. But with the constant stream of comics coming and going, that wasn't as much of a problem. I will certainly go back. read more

We had tipped the host/ticket seller $20 on top of our purchase of 5 tickets just to be nice, but when he led us to our seats, they were right up front, so we asked if we could sit further back and he said we couldn't because those seats were reserved. That turned out to be untrue; no one ever sat where we has asked to move back to, and the host was pretty rude about it. We didn't tip him to try and get special seats, but it was relatively uncrowded on a Saturday night, and we didn't think he needed to be so unpleasant about our request to change seats. read more

The lineup of national performer talent on the weekend shows can not be beat and the local talent are some of the best. You can see great comedy at a reasonable price in a very nice showroom. The room is big enough for fun crowd, but feels intimate without being crowded. The dinner and show packages are popular, and with good reason because the chef is phenomenal and its a good price for great food. The website makes it easy to order tickets and get all the details you need for a an awesome night out with friends. The staff is some of the best around, always friendly and providing excellent service in a very busy and demanding atmosphere. Very disappointed with the professionalism, respect and service of The Comedy Works in Saratogo Spings, NY. Myself and my two cousins were "kicked out" of the show within a half hour of being there, given no warnings or reasons. One of the workers came over to us, making a scene and telling us we have to leave immediately. We had respectufully stepped outside to understand why we were rudely interuppted and embarassed during the show that we paid to see. The manager was unable to give us a valid reason and just kept saying "people complained and you need to leave". One of the workers (male) who happened to present in the beginning of the show was in my cousins face being extremely rude and disrespectful, yelling for us to pay our bill. The other worker (woman) had given us the middle finger when we were refusing to leave until given a reason for this situation. We are three young woman who simply came to have a fun night out with good laughs. The lack of professionalism, respect and common courtesy from this place was beyond disturbing. Visiting from NYC, I have never had this terrible of an experience at a comedy club or any given place for that matter. I had left my number with the manager so that they can give me a call back the next day (Sunday, Decemeber 15th), however, I have still not received a call back. read more

Don't believe false advertising! We received advertisements saying they were featuring a comedian that was featured on "Late Night with David Letterman." This "comedian" was to be holding a weekly game show. Was interested in attending until my boyfriend inquired into it a bit further. We looked into Google and Youtube to try and find some of his acts before attending. The only thing we found was that he attended a "Late Night" show, as a member of the audience!! How does attending a show make you a featured member?! Will not be attending and spending money on false advertisements! Hire real comedians! read more

Ok so I take comedy shows very seriously (lol). I've been to second city in Chicago, I've seen some other small stuff, but Brian Beaudoin is unlike anything I've ever seen. The guy does not give a s*** and that makes the comedy so real and so funny because it's not just thoughts we all have that he exposes, but thoughts we all have and are ashamed about! He is an absolute riot and easily worth the cover fee. I would completely recommend this place, stumbled in looking for a laugh and found the best comedy spot I've been to yet. read more

Went for the first time last weekend (10/21/17) My husband and I had a great time. Great atmosphere and a LOT of laughs. We did not eat but checked over the menu and saw a few dishes the other customers were getting and they looked generous. We would definitely go and do a meal. All the free parking was filled but we easily found a parking lot just around back for $10. read more

Wish there was a way to rate this place a Negative star!! Went with 5 other good friends on 11/5/16 to celebrate a "milestone birthday ladies night" and was profoundly disappointed. We sat down at a table up front, ordered drinks and enjoyed the first comedian. The second comedian was extremely flat and several times made just about everyone in the room uncomfortable with that awkward silence that follows a joke that is just not funny. The third guy comes on and immediately drops the "F" bomb about 7 times in three sentences and begins insulting the crowd. After a few chuckles from all of us, a staff member comes up to one of my friends and they both leave the room. Those in our group smiled at each other thinking that our friend was asked to be part of the show and we waited for her to appear. Then all of a sudden, the staff member came back and gathered up our friend's purse and coat with no sign of our friend. I decided to go out and see what was going on, thinking that perhaps they had summoned her due to a family emergency. When I saw her, I was immediately alarmed because she was very upset and crying. Apparently it was the decision of the staff to kick her out of the show due to heckling!! My friend had not said a word!!!!! We were stunned and the staff was adamant that she would not be allowed back into the show. I went back in to collect the rest of our friends and the 5 of us all retreated together, leaving our drinks on the table and being insulted by the comedian. We were met with a staff that was unhelpful, unapologetic and could not give any good reason for ejecting our friend and refused to let us speak to the manager, indicating that he was busy. To top it all off, they expected us to pay the tab for our drinks which were still on the table inside!!!! Our night out in Saratoga and our friend's birthday was ruined by our experience at The Comedy Works. My suggestion to you is to find another comedy club because this one should be shut down!! read more
