I guess I think of food halls as more of a hip urban thing, but this one is in a suburb of a suburb, and it was pretty respectable. Billing itself as an "international" food hall, it was largely Asian (noting the African stall was not open when I stopped by), but also held the cool Egyptian place I came for. It had solid restrooms, and seating was all outdoor if you wanted to eat in the area, with a tent covering some tables. The tables were full on my visit, and business seemed to be doing well. Yay! This is an awesome spot... based around serving various types of "street foods". We have tried the koshary, Indian, and ice cream. The koshary is the perfect bowl of food. Savory & filling, a comfort food that you didn't have to grow up with to keep coming back. At the Indian place I just asked for his recommendation and ended up getting the Mumbai sandwich and the Samosa Chaat. The [pressed] sandwich took a little while to prepare but was well worth the wait. A balance of fresh, starchy, and spicy flavors - it was unlike anything I've ever tasted but I could eat it every day. And the samosa (pictured) was a home run too. Lastly, the ice cream place is pretty typical but also a great treat. They do some exotic flavors (olive oil?) but I got espresso chip and it was rich and tasty. I wanted affogato but they were out of it. Oh well! Great concept, laid back atmosphere, and amazing food. I'll be going back to try out the ramen! Finally made it into this hidden, but sparkling, gem of a food court, launching a new adventure for us. We've tried the empanadas from one vendor (they were excellent) and a large meal from FoodFricana, a West African take-out - which was another full-on five-star dining experience. Such a great find! I was in search of koshary and this is the closest location to Baltimore City that has it. I didn't know how diverse this location is until I got there. My friend and I decided to order from multiple stands and try as much as our stomachs would allow us. We got a koshary bowl, Mochi donuts, bubble tea, and chicken momos. Everything was delicious but my favorite would have to be the chicken momos. The location is small but there is a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating available. We are hoping namaste foodie opens back up soon so that we can try their food as well. But we will be back regardless! read more

We came here to get some bubble tea because it's one of the new ones that popped up on Yelp (RoyalTea) but what we didn't expect that it was going to be grand opening night. They were handing out free samples from all they're booths - some had not officially opened yet. There is an Egyptian street food booth, Bread and pastry booth, RoyalTea (bubble tea and puffles booth), Scoops and Paddle (ice cream booth), namaste (Indian street food booth), southern BBQ booth, ramen booth, Trifecta Bar - located in the back (cooffee, cocktails, kombucha, beer, wine). Once all the booths are opened I can see this as a new go to/ hangout place. The food was decent. will have to go back there again once it's not crowded. read more

It's worth the trek from Ellicott city. been here multiple times. Lots of different options. the bhan mi, Indian, and tacos are solid. Staff at restaurants are friendly. Food gets done quick. Fantastic one stop shop for a great lunch. Has outdoor seating to sample one item, and head back into the food hall to enjoy another. Coffee was fantastic.... far superior to coffee we had nearby (decadent... sorry to them but coffee I had there was over roasted / burned). Common Kitchen is very similar to The Spot and Pikes Kitchen in Rockville. An open area with different types to choose from. The best way to describe the food here is that it's good for people who don't have much experience with the type of food you're eating. This is great spot for people to try different foods that they aren't too familiar with. If you go in there eating something you love and eat often you might be a little disappointed. For example, we ordered a Banh Mi sub, Vermicelli Noodle Bowl, Summer roll, and Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, which are all things I've eaten pretty often in the past at other restaurants. With that being said, they all did not taste that great. The summer roll was wrapped poorly and the slice meat inside was quite dry, which completely ruined the whole roll. The pork in the vermicelli noodle bowl was over seasoned and a bit salty. The Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen's flavor was definitely there, but the noodles didn't seem right since they used one that's similar to egg noodles. The Banh Mi actually wasn't bad. It is a little peppery for my liking, but the sub as a whole was decent! If you come in here expecting good quality food then I suggest you go to spots that actually specialize and only serve those kinds of food. You're better off going there and getting better quality food for a slightly cheaper price. It is a good place to bring friends and family to have a meal where the main focus is interacting and not purely about the food since it is quite beautiful and nice inside. read more

Common Kitchen is a great addition to Howard County and the 108 corridor. Having a food hall within easy reach of Columbia, Ellicott City, and Eastern Montgomery County is a real treat. The layout of CK is casual and all the staff at the booths is welcoming. The events are fun and family friendly, like Trivia Night on Thursdays. You can eat in or get your food take-away.
