I've been there 3 times the food is very good. **BUT I ordered a pizza last night as the people sitting next to me ordered one and it looked amazing....well the pizza I brought home was terrible! I already ordered food to eat there. I may as well been eating a piece of cardboard. Hardly any cheese on it....nothing like the pizza that was ordered to eat in. I will go again as the food is really but I will not be getting any food to go there ever. Also the bar staff was much more attentive this last visit which was nice. read more

I have been frequenting the Common Market Restaurants for many years now. The service is always great and the food is out of this world and is always fresh tasting and flavorful. The prices are reasonable for what you get and the portions are pretty good sized. I usually go with the grilled steak tips when I am there but their seafood is always delicious as well. Common Market Restaurants is a great place in Quincy that has a few different restaurants inside. They have three different restaurants, one food court and then function venues. I got the Baked Stuffed Haddock topped w/ crabmeat based homemade Ritz sherry crumbs from the Cafe De Paris. The Baked Stuffed Haddock was good. The haddock itself was fresh and tasted good but it was a little dry at times. I don't know if this was due to the breadcrumbs on top or the fish itself. Sometimes haddock melts in your mouth but this fish did not do that. The side of vegetables were a little soggy but over the taste was good. I really enjoyed the rice it came with. When I combined the haddock with the rice the taste of it was delicious. I really liked my experience there and I would go back to try the other two restaurants. read more

I stumbled upon this place after getting paint supplies from curry hardware. The locations very peculiar/odd- on a busy intersection diagonal from each other. Their function room also has the same "common market restaurant" sign so I needed to make a detour to the one that was across the street. The back of the restaurant has ample parking space for the customers and their painted sign on the building looked new. As I entered, it has an impression of a college cafeteria with different kinds of food options. It was confusing a bit since the cashier is in the middle of the store and took me some time to figure out that I had to order the food from there. The restaurant offers variety of food & dessert options and the clean facilities for the dining patrons. I went around lunch time and many people came in to pick up their orders that they have placed online. The order came out timely and there were plenty of seats to enjoy my meal. The pizza and panini were both freshly made to order and they were very tasty. I am looking forward to revisiting this restaurant for the quick salads and family dinner options. We went to the Common Market Restaurant for my friends rehearsal dinner. We had a good experience at dinner. Everything came out hot and was really yummy for buffet food. A professional organization I belong to had a luncheon for about 40 folks here today, and everything went very well. This is a big restaurant with quite a few private rooms. Our room was upstairs and it had a bar which worked out great for us. Our bartender, Teresa, was super nice and hospitable, and she mixed up a mean Bloody Mary ($8.75). Our buffet lunch was very good - salad, mixed vegetables, rice, ziti, chicken marsala, baked scrod, and a dish of ice cream with chocolate sauce. Very disappointed in the change in portion sizes as of late. The final straw came today when we ordered a half pan of grilled steak tips and roasted potatoes for a family party. This was advertised as serving 8-10 people. When the food was delivered I was shocked to see that the steak tips wouldn't even feed 5 people. Very heavy on the peppers and onions with few steak tips. I had to scramble to order from another restaurant to have enough food to serve my guests. It's a shame because we've always ordered from them in the past, but the last few times we've noticed the serving sizes have shrunk considerably. I love this place. I pick up food here at least once a week. Sure, it's not Michelin star food but it's tasty and a good value. Kind of makes you feel at home which i think is the idea. They also have a small area for groceries (drinks, snacks, ice cream) so you can delay that trip to the grocery store another day. The first time I went there I was a little confused by the setup, but it's easy thereafter. I usually do online pickup orders and they are very consistent about when it is ready. Love this place! It is my go to place when meeting friends from North and South Shore. You can't beat the special: dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine for $34.99. You can go with a friend & spend $23, and that includes a 20% tip. The food is delicious. I frequent the Chowder House if you go on a Friday or Saturday you will see Marge. If it's not busy I have stayed for hours talking with my friends. There is no TV so no distractions. My family loves Darcy's especially the honey mustard pizza. TV's in Darcy's. I went here for a nice dinner for a special occasion. I was seated in the cafe paris section. he decor was nice but dated. Cleanliness ok, wine glasses had spots and One big spec. I had a filet mignot supposed to be medium but came out charcol on outside almost raw in the middle. My GF got chicken parm. It was average at best. The huge portion would feed 3 people. Quantity cannot make up quality. The salads we ok. Ranch dressing good. Service average. Karaoke in bar next door ok. Drinks ok. Didn't send back steak cause I did not want GF eve spoiled by this. There are three restaurants in this particular part of Common Market. I've been to all of the establishments at different times. Tonight I got things from "Fish N Chicken" (grilled sesame chicken dinner) and it was fantastic. From "Healthy Kitchen" this time around I got the Cajun salmon and it was terriffic! I must say I was a little disappointed because of it being 'farm-raised' fish, but I understand they are a commercial venture and very likely have to purchase in super large bulk. I normally stay away from farm-raised fish cuz that's really a nice way of saying over-crowded, overly medicated fish. I hate that, but-- it is what it is. This place couldn't make turkey sandwich correctly. I went ordered a turkey with American cheese and lite mayo. Seems simple enough, when I drove the 5 miles home to find out I had. Turkey with lettuce and do much mayo the meat was sliding. I drove the 5 miles back only to be told that happens when we are busy. So they remade the good and I drove the 5 miles home only up find they made the same mistake again. I drove back got my money refunded and will never go there again. This review is specifically for the event planning team. We hosted a friend's baby shower here yesterday. I was a former event planner, so I took the lead. The team was so lovely. I called about 3 months ago to reserve the space. Everything was packaged well and very clearly. The prices were very reasonable for services offered. The Lady who was the main contact was very accommodating arranging to have vegan meals for friends. The food was very tasty - 3 plated options inclusive of a salad course. We hosted a mimosa bar which was yummy and very easy. The staff plated the cake we brought with no extra fee. The server in our room was just lovely - very sweet and attentive. There is an attached complimentary parking lot - a huge asset when it comes to hosting any event in the greater Boston area. I was grateful for the way everything with the event was executed. However I don't know why the menu is now almost exactly like the Cafe du Paris. The lines are blurring with the distinct differences between each restaurant. We had my grandfathers funeral reception at The Common Market today. This was my first time here and it will be my last. The food was so bad on so many levels! For starters, the rice was way over cooked and mushey. The chicken marsala was not good either, I couldn't put my finger on why, maybe too salty. The fish was absolutely horrible! It was beyond a shadow of a doubt the smallest, driest fish I have ever eaten In my life! The ice cream took the cake! They charged us an additional $2 for "dessert" for each person. What we got was a mouthful size bowl of, what tasted like chocolate soft serve frozen yogurt. Furthermore, it was as hard as a rock,They must have put it in the bowl then put it in the freezer. Nobody could even eat it! Needless to say, the soft serve wasn't so soft! On a more positive note, I ate the penne pasta, that wasn't too bad. It almost tasted like it had lamb in in and I love lamb. I ate there on 11/9/13. The service was terrible from the host to the waitress. Very, very slow. Both waited on us and then proceeded to wait on other patrons at the same time. The hostess was not warm and welcoming. The tables are two close together - to the point where the waitresses and other patrons bump into you when walking by your chair. We were seated for a while before the waitress asked us for a drink other. Instead, of submitting our order at the bar, she waited on a least one other table. She had to reach over people to when serving the drinks and the meals. She was very loud. I like the idea of not being rushed during dinner, but things were at a standstill too often. The food was okay to good, but nothing to rave about. I won't be going back. They definitely need to put more space b/w tables.
