A wonderful family dinner at Rozafa with portion sizes that were incredibly generous and perfect for sharing. Every dish tasted so fresh and full of flavor, and the whole meal felt warm and welcoming from start to finish. We got: FRESH BREAD WITH HUMMUS AND OLIVE OIL Complimentary and absolutely delicious. The bread was warm and soft, and the homemade hummus paired with olive oil was smooth, flavorful, and such a comforting way to begin the meal. Simple but done so well. FRESH OYSTERS Juicy, briny, and incredibly fresh. Each one had that perfect ocean flavor and needed nothing more than a squeeze of lemon. Such a refreshing starter. BURRATA Served with grilled vine ripe tomato, basil pesto, roasted red pepper, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. The burrata was creamy and delicate, the tomatoes tasted bright and sweet, and the pesto added an herby richness that tied everything together. Every bite tasted fresh and vibrant. FRIED CALAMARI Crispy and tender with a fun twist from the banana peppers and olives. The extra tang and brightness from the peppers made the dish stand out, and the olives added great depth. A really unique and delicious version of a classic. LINGUINI WITH CLAMS Fresh local little neck clams with extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the broth was light but full of flavor, and the clams were sweet and tender. A comforting and beautifully prepared dish. PIZZA MARGHERITA San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, and fresh parmigiano. The cheese pull was truly epic and the thin crust made this one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The sauce was bright, the mozzarella was creamy, and the crust had the perfect crisp and chew. So simple yet unforgettable. INSALATA ROMANA WITH MARINATED STEAK TIPS Romaine hearts with Caesar dressing, parmigiano, and croutons topped with tender marinated steak tips. The greens were crisp, the dressing was flavorful, and the steak tips were juicy and perfectly seasoned. A great salad that felt hearty and fresh. We have had great meals And others have come out, leaving us wondering what it even was. The only down side is when they are busy , it's clear it's under staffed And service suffers a bit. We stopped by Rozafa for a late breakfast. The menu was mostly a variety of omelettes and sandwiches. Didn't see many Mediterranean options but maybe they focus on that for dinner. It was a long wait for the food but luckily the steak tips we ordered were pretty good - tender and well seasoned. The pancakes were average but they were a bit pricey for only two. Portion sizes were average for what you pay for. My wife did enjoy their hot coffee though. The atmosphere was casual and low key so it felt more like a diner during the day. I'm not into chain restaurants so as I passed by one day I kept Rozafa in mind as a place I may want to try as a nice off the beaten path while in the middle of everything option. My opportunity came Friday evening around 7pm. Parking either on the street or to the side of the building which was refreshing. To my surprise it was not to busy which threw me off a bit. The ambiance was quiet and it struck me as a low key neighborhood establishment. We were seated promptly right behind the host station in a nice corner table with two windows that gave us an evening view of outside which was nice. The corner was to itself which was nice as I felt like we had a nook to ourselves. We were greeted timely and brought initial waters, menus and placed our drink orders. Drinks received and shortly after some fantastic rustic cut bread and hummus which was absolutely delicious. Steak Frites and Housemade Lasagna were the decisions and both were served hot in a considerate time frame. The atmosphere (both lighting and music) were memorable very adult a great date experience. Service and food were on par for a nice evening. I'd recommend for anyone who is more concerned with their enjoyment of their evening and a very low key atmosphere than being on scene at a chain restaurant. This place has a nice ambiance. They have many indoor seats and outdoor seats. Servers are nice and friendly. They are knowledgeable of which food is good and not. I ordered fried calamari and linguine with clam. Calamari was served with a sauce that tasted like spicy mayo. The clam was okay but pasta came a bit overcooked and it came with too much pasta sauce, which made the pasta a bit soggy. Overall the food are great. read more

The bread was very fresh with a nice crust that came with a spicy hummus dip. Apps were eggplant which was ok. And mussels in a tomato sauce that were good. Meals were a lasagna with a special order meatball. Meatball was tiny and not eventful. Lasagna ok. Chicken parm was typical and just ok. Bolognese was good from what I'm told. Good food, good service which is essentially what you want. It's a bit bright & loud for my liking but I guess that's how they roll. I will say it's a bit pricey for what you get. It was nice to see people working there helping each other out. I think their chocolate lava cake needs to be redone; there was no lava at all, which was disappointing. Would never go again. Walked in with a party of 6 on a Friday night for some after dinner cocktails. The bartender seemed to be doubling as a hostess but she was too busy talking to her friend at the bar to come over and seat us. She eventually came over and showed us a table in the bar area. Waited a while and she took our order, served us and never came back to ask if we wanted another drink. I went to the bar and asked for the check, paid without looking and now just noticed she included a large party fee (20%) for our party of 6 but only 5 were drinking. I'm fine with that fee when notified OR the service was good enough for that tip. She also received a cash tip even though it wasn't deserved. They are getting one star for delicious orange juice and one star for baller hollandaise sauce. Stopped in to try a new place yesterday morning and was extremely disappointed. Anytime I'm trying a new place for breakfast I always get the eggs Benedict as it is my favorite meal and I want to find the best one out there. The menu had me excited because it said all entrees came with three eggs and a choice of home fries or hash browns and toast. When I specified wheat toast the waitress asked if I wanted that instead of English muffins , I told her I thought it came with toast and she said no. When I got my plate it had only 2 eggs on it, and the plate was a long plate which looked quite empty. If you're going to have a small amount of food you should probably use a smaller plate... just a thought. The best part about eggs Benedict, for me, is when you cut into the egg and the delicious yolk oozes out over the muffin. You can imagine my extreme disappointment when I cut in and had a fully hard cooked egg!! Both of them were like that. This is quite a nice wine bistro environment with a cozy wine bar. The place is open primarily for breakfast lunch and early dinner. We were stopping for an early lunch. My husband had a huge omelette of fried corn beef hash he so thoroughly enjoyed. The chef graciously allowed me to also have an early lunch plate so I had the Mediterranean grilled veggie salad which was phenomenal and I highly recommend. Not sure why this place is called a Mediterranean Bistro since their menu leans so heavily towards Italian. As we drove along one evening, we found Rozafa as a small stand alone building on a quiet stretch of Hancock Street. There was absolutely no competition for parking on the far side of the street, so I read the sign to make sure that it was okay to park there - and it was! Walking in, we found ourselves the sole guests of the pleasant waitress. A basket of sliced bread was presented with a dish of olives in olive oil after we ordered. However, we opted to save what was left of our appetite for dinner, as we would be sharing a pair of appetizers and two entrees. My favorite dish of the night turned out to be the Eggplant Tart $7.00 (Homemade eggplant parm served with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce), with its five thin layers of breaded and fried eggplant rounds sandwiching slices of fresh melted mozzarella stacked in a squat column. The Mediterranean Stuffed Pepper $8.00 (Stuffed with rice and ground beef and topped with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce.) was pretty tasty as well with its higher beef to rice ratio and still rather firm pepper shell. Not sure what made that Mediterranean either... Our two entrees, the Baked Haddock $16.00 (Topped with homemade bread crumbs and a lemon butter sauce.) and the Tagliatelle al Porcini $16.00 (Fresh egg noodles served with a cream porcini mushroom sauce and topped with truffle oil.) arrived at the same time, and were followed shortly by extra plates, since we had voiced that we'd be sharing everything. The pasta ribbons were more tender than al dente, which so happened to be just the way my DC prefers. It was quite flavorful and filling a dish. The sides which came with the haddock were well portioned, and slightly overwhelmed the fish. The crumbs topping the fillet were rather rich, as was the pool of butter melted on the mashed. I enjoyed the still firm brussels sprouts veggie of the day, while my DC would have preferred them more tender. Having eaten our fill, we each went home with a doggy bag with enough for tomorrow's light lunch (though admittedly, we were far from starving at our arrival, as we had enjoyed dessert first). When we left, the dining room was still our own private playground, while there were several parties enjoying the football playing on the tv in the bar area. I think it's gross that the owner sits at the front day drinking while the ONLY waitress is rushing around trying to take care of everyone because it was under staffed. You can't even bring menus to the table? Tried rozafa again and the service was ok but the food portion from the 3-5 menu was so small and over priced. The eggplant parm app used to be so much bigger now it's half the size and smothered in cheese. I live next door and wouldn't go here again. This place won't last if this keeps up! read more

I'm will never give Rozafa another chance. I called them last Friday morning, 8/27/21, and personally spoke to a female. She took all of my information and I reserved for two of us for 6 PM 9/01/21 for a Birthday dinner. We arrived at the reception desk at 5:50pm. The host said " oh we had some trouble with our reservation system. I have no record of any reservation. " I said, I didn't use a system, I personally spoke to a woman "oh, yeah, well we had a lot of trouble with our reservation system. It'll be a 45 minute wait if you want to have a table. This place surprised me - really good food and exceptional service! Our waitress Kat was wonderful. I've been here two weeks in a row and am impressed by the quality of food. You can't beat the vegetable platter to start. I've been on a pasta kick and this place satisfied my cravings. My dinner experience was adequate. Not great. Not awful. It was clean. Servers were very friendly. The noise level was quite high, to the point of retarding conversation in my group, therefore I would definitely not recommend it for a hot date. Agree with a prior review that the onion soup tasted bland. Even the color was a bit washed out. In my opinion it needed more beef in the broth, and a dash of brandy. The steak au poivre was not what I was expecting. The cut of meat was nice and it was cooked to temperature. But normally the meat is accompanied by a luscious peppercorn/brandy/cream sauce. A little but very family like restaurant in Quincy. Came here twice already for buck a chuck Wednesday. My first visit besides the oysters I tried the French Onion soup and it was one of the best. Yesterday I came back with another girlfriend for oysters and ordered more from the menu. The onion soup wasn't as good as the last time. The broth were thin and almost clear. Beet salad was more like an arugula salad with small diced beets as garnish. Grill octopus was way too over cooked and the mussels were good size but a little salty to taste. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly with great service but food needs more work. Rozafa serves great drinks! Great drinks for everyone! Including for our waitress who drank so much while serving us that she got progressively more and more annihilated throughout the evening that she ended up pouring us a bottle of wine we didn't ask for (or drink) and then get offended when we asked her about it and if she could remove it from our bill. Hit or miss. $18 for the charcuterie with Dijon, a few olives, 3 slices of very basic white bread, a small amount of cheese, and some meats is not okay. $17 for mussels marinara with mussels that were either previously frozen or just over cooked, stale toasted bread and really thin marinara soup is also not okay. Wife and I decided to go for a nice lunch and chose this place. A little busy for a Thursday but no problem. One wait staff only but she quickly apologized for being slowish due to being busy and not a problem. With the snow tomorrow and places having trouble getting staff this makes sense. But the woman was actually as quick as she could be. Didn't really make us wait long and served efficiently. The good. The pickles were good. Nice a crisp. DW got a pastrami sandwich which was very good. Medium. The chips were ok. Maybe. Probably home made but a little oily. And cold. Not stale but not like they were fresh either. To be honest store bought would have been better. The bad. I wanted gyros. That's why we went here. One review said it was the best he's had at least locally. But this was three years old and the gyros I had could have been from the same batch. Ok that's cruel. But it didn't taste that good and in fact might have had a freezer burn taste. It was faint but I swear it was there. The pita bread was very good and warm but the rest was just sub par. Would I go back? I don't know. I didn't hate it and DW liked here meal. A small neighborhood bistro. Clean and friendly staff. We ordered oyster very fresh, the Reuben, thin sliced pastrami w the works very tasty. Will have to come back to the tradition in rye and mustard. Swordfish special the fillet was in the small size for price but was fresh and cooked just right and came with couscous. We also got the prosciutto pizza with fresh green and white truffle oil. The pizza was not greasy and had quality cheese. The bites w the truffle oil were taste bud approved.
