I think this park is alright. It does require that you get a permit with the city right next to the city library. Once your dog is registered, you get a key fob that permits you entry into the park. Security here isn't completely strict, but I've seen the security guard pull people over to inform them of the city requirements. Another note is parking is metered street parking. I tend to come after 5pm or 6pm to avoid the fee. They have a section for small dogs and big dogs. One note about the park is it's covered with dirt, like a really big sand box. So if you don't feel like getting your dog fur covered in sand, you might consider going elsewhere. Nonetheless, I enjoy coming out every so often. read more

The Community Dog Park On Foothill Dr in Beverly Hills, was created due to several years and infinite written requests by dog owners and residents of Beverly Hills. Before this park, I frequented Will Rogers Park on Sunset/Canon. That park does not allow dogs off leash,not gated, no water fountains for dogs, just anybody/non BH residents allowed with unlicensed & unvaccinated dogs and it's not guarded with an armed guard for protection. And the park patrol loves ticketing people who violate off leashed dogs. This park is all the above and I'm not harassed by ticketing park patrol for off leashed doggie, not approached but weird non BH resident vagrants, and my dog gets to socialize with neighborhood dogs. It's convenient, it's across the street from BHVet and MBZ BH for multitaskers. To enter this park you MUST be a Beverly Hills resident with 3 proofs, your dog was have all licenses and vaccinations current with proof and you must apply, register and once approved, pay the annual fee. You'll receive the permit docs via email and mail along with the Permit dog tag. There's an armed security guard during dog park hours and he or she will check their list to verify if you and your doggie are registered/on the list of allowed to go inside. It's a bit of a hassle, but for the issues I mentioned, this park covers the jist and it's a welcome sanctuary for dogs big and small. The issue I have with this park is it lacks enough shade and trees, no grassy area for dogs to sit, it's all dirt and dusty. My white furbabes can only be there for 10mins, supervised by me so she doesn't get too dirty dusty, otherwise it's off to the groomers. Several of us BH residents have written countless letters asking for added trees and a nice size grassy area but as it took about 4 years for this park to be created, maybe sooner...paws crossed. read more

Do you need a license? Yes, this ensures your dog is vaccinated and fixed. Also, this is easy to get through the city. Is there a ranger supervising? Yes, this ensures humans and dogs are accountable for Theo actions and interactions. Could it be better? Sure it would be great if it had grass and a bit more shade. The locals that come are awesome, it's usually busy early morning and late afternoon. Unfortunately not many dogs around mid day. Best option in the neighborhood if you want a safe play spot for your four legged friends. read more

Community Park? Ha. Not according to this definition: a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Or perhaps, exactly that. Perhaps residents do not want to socialize with their adjacent neighbors. I live exactly one block outside of Beverly Hills proper in Beverly Hills Adjacent. As a self-employed person who does not work at any particular location I am unable to register for the permit to take my dog to this dog park. If I were to say that I worked in Beverly Hills, which I do regularly, I would be committing "perjury" according to their online form-- because I do not have an official office. The registration system is both insulting and above all else--- annoying. First and foremost because I am allowed to participate in ALL OTHER BEVERLY HILLS public offerings including, but not limited to, the use of the public library, the tennis clubs, all public facilities: i.e., other parks, and public schools, exercise groups etc., but not the dog park. No, the dog park is for official residents and anyone else be damned. This is the closest dog park by far to my house and the fact that they check your paperwork each time is both an unnecessary precaution and condescending. If you as a private citizen are worried about socializing your dog at a dog park perhaps you should take them to a private puppy day-club, not a so-called community park. First of all the park was deserted and then their rent a cop told me we couldn't come in because we weren't residents of boujee town and we weren't staying in their hotels. Really?!? For those people who complain and/or bitch about the dog park in Beverly Hills. It is a community park, but it's for the community of Beverly Hills. We are fortunate that the city of BH has requirements such as: (i) your dog must have a valid license with the city of Los Angeles (ii) must be fully vaccinated and (iii) must show proof of both. And for the record, to obtain a license with the city of Los Angeles, the dogs must be spayed or neutered. Otherwise, the city will not issue a license. Unlike other parks, where you people take your dogs and you have no idea if the other dogs are even vaccinated against rabies. You simply don't know. We are fortunate in that respect. And we like and appreciate those requirements. It makes us feel a bit more safe when we take our dogs to the park. read more

I see nothing has changed about this place based on the reviews. My vet is literally right across the street from this so-called "COMMUNITY dog park". I parked right in front with my dog to take her to a routine appointment. As I'm taking my dog out of the car, I hear this armed security guard get on his walkie talkie... "BEEP...ok, we got a dog coming in, we got a dog coming in..." Knowing that my West Hollywood native dog is not allowed in, I don't even acknowledge this pretender and just keep walking by to my vet's office. "BEEP...cancel that, cancel that..." Who is this guy talking to?! There were literally no dogs inside the park. Is there some central monitoring station that he needs to check-in with? His back-up? Does he just like using his walkie talkie? Just too comical. These power-tripping fools are more obnoxious than TSA. read more

I hate to be a stickler about a dog park in Beverly Hills but because of the exclusivity of the neighborhood and tedious permit regulations, I have to give my honest opinion. In order for your dog to even step foot on the grounds of "The Community Dog Park" you have to register your dog with the City of Beverly Hills and get a permit from using the same information as your parking permit. Your dog is also required to be either spayed or neutered as well. Once your dog is registered the city gives you a key fab to use at the gate entrance. If you fail to provide the permit/key fab a City of Beverly Hills Park Ranger will kick you out (if you even get inside the gates). It's quite comedic if you ask me granted the park is composed of gravel and dirt with dogs sniffing each other's butts. Save your time and energy and take your dog to another park. There are so many great ones to choose from in metro LA. read more

I am very very thankful for this dog park. Having just moved to California a few months ago, I was unsure where I would be able to take my dog (Gia - puggle) to play in a park and feel safe. The idea of public dog parks that have 50-100 dogs that may not have shots or might be aggressive/dangerous is terrifying to me. I am not pretentious at all unless it comes to the safety of my dog. This park requires you to have your dog licensed (small fee and proof of spay/neuter and all vaccinations) and also requires you to live in Beverly Hills. I don't mind jumping through these small hoops to ensure the safety and peace of mind for my pup. There is a large dog area and a small dog area. Often the small dogs will be in the big section because the large dogs are all very gentle and like to play, but of course the large dogs cannot go in the small dog section. Mine is a small dog and usually I will have her in the big dog section. Sometimes the big dogs play a bit more than she can handle so I can take her to the small section, but it is just my personal preference of what is too rambunctious - NOT a dog being aggressive. I have never seen a fight between dogs ever. Some dogs like to play more than others, but nothing is ever dangerous. There is a ranger who checks to make sure your dog is registered before entering as well as monitor the dogs activity. I think it is a little ridiculous that all of the negative reviews on here are people who were turned away for not being registered or put off by the fact that there is a guard. What is wrong with ensuring safety and peace of mind for the dog park? If you live in Beverly Hills, it is simple enough to register, so no need for complaints. Also, shoutout to the ranger to Stephanie. She is wonderful and truly loves the dogs. She is a great asset. Only thing I wish is that it was grass or astroturf because the dogs get a little dirty from all the dirt/dust. read more

Alright guys- I'm not one to do this, but I write this poor review on an act of disappointment, and I speak for about 7 other dog owners I cross paths with on a daily basis. Just so I am clear, and fair... this review is not based on the cleanliness of the park, or the park it's self really, it's more or less a review of the absurd guidelines and "2 page rules" it possesses. If these rules change, and half of the residents of Beverly Hills are allowed in to the park, I will change my review. With that being said, I think it is RIDICULOUS to say the least, that only certain dogs are allowed in the park. Now, I understand the reasoning behind that, and that for the residents of Beverly Hills this is more exclusive... but I think that the rules need to be a little more lenient. First off, this is NOT a night club. Do you really need a security guard there at the gate? Could you be more pretentious? LA is full of people from all over the world, some change their information and some do not. My dog is registered, just not in Beverly Hills. I live about 15 minutes away from the next closest dog park as opposed to a nice 5 minute walk. Myself, and a few other people who were extremely excited about this new nearby park, are turned away at the door and are very unhappy about it. I hope that this review reaches some people and the rules will be reconsidered somewhat in a few months so more people who live in the area are able to enjoy this new dog park you built. read more

I love this park. Small & large dog areas w/plenty of room for them to run around. Everyone is attentive and makes sure dogs are playing well together. You have to either live OR work in Beverly Hills to go here. Make sure to have your dog licensed & register online before showing up at the park. It's pretty simple. The only grievance I have with the park are the benches that I've seen a couple dogs get their paws caught in - design error on their part. I don't know whether to laugh or be completely disappointed at this poor excuse for a dog park. There is rarely more than five dogs and now I understand why. This is the snobbiest place for snobby owners who don't know much about normal dog behavior and get protective of their little poodles for the silliest reason. My dog is a gentle giant who would never hurt anyone, but cause one little dog (whose owner brought him into the large dog area) started barking in fear at my dog, WE got reprimanded. And the park rangers here follow you and your dog around like you're some adolescent hoodlum about to rob a shopping store. These guys wish they were cops who hide in alleys and then catch you for speeding. I tried to ignore my initial reaction when I was asked for my dog park registration (BH residents only). I felt complete shame in how my community continues to make itself increasingly lame. So I got registration, as annoying as it was, thinking it might be worth it since the park is close to home. I LOVE this park, and here is why. Dog parks stress me and my dog out. I'm not a fan of big public parks where people bring their "packs" and sit on their cell-phones, barely paying attention while their dogs run amok. No way in hell can you control like 6 dogs at one time. My dog has been humped, peed on, and harassed at those parks, and there is always some sort of dog fight that breaks out due to owner negligence.The Beverly Hills dog park is NOT a public park. It is for BH residents, hence the word "Community" in the name. There are actual rules and a guard standing watch, which so many people hate but hey, it keeps your dog safe! If you want your dog to socialize, then it's better to go during the latter part of the afternoon, when more people are out with their dogs. There is a big dog section and a small dog section. This is the first park my dog has been to where he actually explores the grounds and get's exited about playing, instead of sticking by my side with his tail between his legs. He's totally confident there, because it's quiet and NEVER packed. We give it five paws! read more
