    Kale caesar with chicken added
    Ophelia M.

The Cook & The Ox offers a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the airport and serves up good food to boot. Overpriced? Of course. It's the airport. But, quality airport meals aren't always easy to come by so we were happy to have this option on a recent trip through MSP before the longer leg of our travel to Iceland. I got their old fashioned and my dining companion got their Manhattan. Both were decently made though (I tried both and would probably order the Manhattan on a future visit). For my meal, I got the kale caesar salad with chicken added. The caesar is made with romaine but has some crispy kale on top and rather than croutons, has two pieces of grilled bread. The chicken is grilled, flavorful, and plentiful. Honestly, it was a great salad. The service was a bit slow so if you're rushed to make your connection, this might not be your spot. But, if, like us, you have a bit of a layover, it worked out great. Get to it!

    Not good! Burrata
    Maria E.

When I saw burrata on the menu, I had high hopes! But I was quickly disappointed by the most bland burrata I've ever had. The Caesar dressing was good but the chicken was extremely dry, I couldn't eat it. Even though I'm at the airport a few times a month, I wouldn't come back.

The Cook & The Ox has a slightly upscale atmosphere, but the menu leans more toward lighter lunch options like pan-seared salmon, salads, sandwiches, and filet medallions rather than a heavy steakhouse selection. I had the chicken club and kale Caesar with chicken. The overall food quality gave off a bit of that "you're at an airport restaurant and we know it" captive-audience vibe.

    What's a hospitality tax about???

Airport food is always a challenge. Especially when you only get to eat one meal for the day. I was looking for a full entree that would hold me over for 18 hrs. Im not usually a beef eater but my server assured me their steak dishes were good. She was right. The steak was rather tender for an airport restaurant. My one complaint was "What the heck is a hospitality tax for?" Other than that i would say Next time you are at MSP give it a try!

Wow! I did not expect this level of deliciousness in an airport! Everything about this is incredible! Treat yourself. You won't regret it!!

Crispy, brussels sprouts and some orange alcoholic beverage with Grand Marnier in it.

Holy cow these brussels sprouts were delicious... I totally had a girl dinner consisting of an appetizer and a cocktail. These brussels sprouts were amazing and I wanted to lick the plate clean. I probably would have, but this joint is classy! The food here is really expensive, but if you're here on business, and you can make your company pay for it. I recommend getting this... Seriously crispy brussels sprouts! Get them. One of the best things I've tasted in a long time.

This is a nice spot to grab dinner before a flight if you want something a bit more upscale than the typical airport food court. The decor is pretty nice, and aside from everyone having suitcases you don't really feel like you're in an airport. The food was good enough, and the service was extremely fast despite the place being packed. This would also be a great spot to order drinks and apps if you aren't looking for a full dinner!

We finished going through TSA and had some time before our flight. We were hungry and this seemed like a good place to get something to eat. We were seated by a friendly hostess who put us at a table where my husband could plug in his computer and check things for work. Our waitress was very good getting our drinks, ordering our appetizer and a bit later our meal. She checked back to make sure things were going well but didn't hover. Our food was really good. We had the jalapeño fries which had fresh chopped jalapeños. My husband had a BLT and I had a salad. Everything was flavorful. Service was pretty quick but we felt relaxed and we didn't feel like they were hurrying us out the door. There was a nice bar and plenty of seating with lots of outlets for whatever you may need to charge while you are eating.

Medallions and asparagus - delicious. Steak cooked perfectly medium. Smaller portion but still a 9/10

Nice chill vibe Medallions were cooked perfectly medium and asparagus was seasoned beautifully Service was great as well.

    Lipstick make out

Worst place to have breakfast of all times !!! Ordered two coffees , my cup was lathered with lipstick . See picture . Then after showing the waitress I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for a new cup . She was so slow and confused . Like she arrived here stowed away in the landing gear and never left .Only to torment others traveling in actual seats . Even the greeter guy up front looked like he was miserable and about to cry . I could have sworn I heard him mumble under his breath he hates this place . We sat and ordered a two simple traditional breakfasts. How can that go wrong ? Well , Cook and the ox managed to screw that up too . Breakfast looked like it dropped out of a ox . No care put into this breakfast at all. See attached picture of the nastiest breakfast of all time . Was anything good ? NO!!! Scrambled eggs came out like an omelette heated in old underpants and sat on to flatten it . Where's the scramble , maybe how your messing with my head with this rip off of a meal. English muffin tasted like it was rubbed on an old car engine to sop up the grease . It's the kind of English muffin where they use old spray butter and throw it on the grill giving it the middle finger while it toasts. To top It off the Mutant Hash-brown .This was the strangest hash brown I have ever scene in my life . Took my a moment to figure out what it was . At first I thought it was Calamari . It looked like a hair ball from a cat with old calamari mixed in . See picture. Paid over 50 Dollars and left without eating . They got the last laugh though , got my money for sub par food . If you read this please don't go here . Walk down to Lake wine Market like I did after this . I was treated way better and actually ate . Great service and food. Waiter was happy and no lathered lipstip on my coffee cup. If the mangers or owners read or care , here's my suggestion . Go under cover here and see how slow the service is and no urgency at all by employees . Then actually order a meal and taste it . You may be surprised how bad it is . And lastly , I dare you to eat the mutant hash brown

The atmosphere is fun and lively, although it does get pretty noisy, so it can be a little hard to hear at times. The food was delicious and definitely not your average brunch menu. Everything felt thoughtful, unique, and full of flavor. Most items are made from scratch, including the biscuits, the bacon, and even the hot sauce, which really shows in the taste. The Mediterranean tartine was a standout with the perfect balance of salty prosciutto and the sweet balsamic onion ricotta. The house Benedict was excellent and the hollandaise was some of the best I've had. The waffle was good but nothing especially memorable, it felt a little overpowered by the raspberry compote. The cocktails were fantastic too. The Orange Dream was the perfect brunch drink, light, creamy, and refreshing. Overall, a great experience with incredible food and wonderful service. I would happily come back again.

THE VIBE The interior is very white, clean, and crisp. Fresh, but not too sterile. Our server was lovely! Very personable. The food took a very long time to arrive. It was clear they were incredibly busy. THE FOOD The food was great! On the pricier end, especially considering the mains did not come with a side. The nordic omelette was super tasty and very unique! My friend got the avocado tartine - she said it was good, but the avocado had oxidized and was a little off-putting.

The best way I can describe it: it feels like eating breakfast inside the coolest thrift store you've ever stumbled into -- except somehow everything in it is something you wish you owned. Funky, nostalgic, colorful, a little weird in all the right ways. There's something cool to look at everywhere you turn, the food absolutely delivers, and nobody's trying too hard. Came here because of all the amazing reviews and the photos of the inside are so cute, yet everything was mediocre. Coffee - bad Chai latte - not good Food - mediocre, bland Service - blah and slow Decor - quaint, quirky and cute, really the only reason for the extra star Additionally, I ordered a dirty chai latte with 2 shots of espresso. He charged me the $6.50 for the latte listed on the menu, then $1.50 for one "Xtra Espresso Shot," then $4.00 for an "Espresso." When I questioned it, he brought the menu and tried to say it's $4.00 for an espresso so he was being nice by not charging $8.00 for the 2 add shots... BRO, you have a button ON THE REGISTER for "Xtra Espresso Shot" for a reason. You hit it twice for 2 add shots on the latte I'm already paying for. $3.00 for 2 add shots on a latte is reasonable, $5.50 is insane. Should have been $9.50 for a double dirty chai latte, he charged me $12.00 and thought he was being nice not charging $14.50. And it wasn't even good. Won't be coming back. Disappointed. I shouldn't even be surprised, but I was so shocked I am already writing this review right after we got home. This place is soooo overrated.

I've been into one other Capital One Cafe before, so I knew that as a cardholder, I got 50% off any drinks. Not a bad deal, especially if you're looking for a bev or somewhere to hang for a bit in MOA. SERVICE The staff at the front are very cheery and welcoming and immediately begin asking if you've been before, if you have a card, etc. They directed me to the counter to order. During my visit, the staff member at the counter was quite the opposite of energy from the front staff. They were quite backed up with a few other people's orders in front of me, and it took ~10 minutes for me to get my drink. COST I was surprised that my small matcha with oat milk and a half pump of sweetener came up to $10, so I ended up still spending $5. DRINKS They have some nice drink options, but unfortunately were out of a few of their seasonal menu items, so I opted for a matcha latte. Note that they do not sweeten their matcha so you'll need to add a pump of sweetener if you prefer that. SPACE The space is the big win here! Lots of tables, and even a few nooks that can be booked by cardholders. It was very clean and comfortable, well designed, and a great place to work for a bit or hang out. Not too loud, and plenty of seating available on a Friday. This is a good option to get a reduced-cost drink if you're a cardholder while you're MOA shopping!

HAVAN-A-MAZING LUNCH…read more If a top-tier Cuban sandwich is what you seek, look no further than Guava's. Located a mile northwest of Minneapolis Int'l Airport, this quaint Cuban restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend.  We stopped here after visiting Como Park Zoo and enjoyed a great lunch as well as some A+ plane-watching, since Guava's is directly in the flightpath of landing jets. I started with a Bent Paddle pilsner ($6.50), and my wife got a michelada ($8) which she said was a good value and "made the right way".  There's a decent amount of seating inside as well as tables outside, although it can get noisy at times due to the nearby airport. The Cubano ($18) was one of the best either of us has ever tried: pulled pork, ham, salami, pickles, mustard, mayo, and Swiss cheese on grilled panini bread.  It came with lightly salted plantain chips and a small cup of house hot sauce.  Amazing, no notes.   5/5 The lechon asado rice bowl ($16) was equally terrific.  Delicious roasted pork - including some magical burnt ends that had me in ASMR heaven - came with black beans and maduros (sweet plantains) over cilantro rice.  Fabulous mingling of flavors and textures.  5/5 We got a side of Yuca frita ($7) w/cilantro aioli but these were almost an afterthought; my wife and I were too obsessed with our entreés to pay much attention to these lil' starchy sticks.  They have tres leches cake for dessert but we opted for a flan ($7) instead, and it was OK. * TL;DR * I'm glad that Guava's didn't try anything too clever with the Cubano, preferring to keep it classic and focus on quality. The aesthetics inside are charming, soft mint green walls with a mix of white counters and darker wood.  Staff were friendly and the food came out relatively fast.  They have a nice selection of local draft beers and plenty of great Cuban coffee. I would absolutely recommend Guava's to anyone in the Minneapolis-St Paul area, especially if they're interested in trying one of the best Cuban sandwiches of their lives.
