Ordered a pumpkin butterscotch bar (made today), plain latter with oat milk, green mango tea and a Mediterranean turkey sandwich (multigrain of sour dough) for a shared snack. $21.41 They tend to run out of their cinnamon rolls first thing in the morning. No cinnamon roll. You can add cream cheese, PB and other toppings onto your baked goods. They do charge a CC surcharge. The pumpkin butterscotch is overwhelmingly heavy with the butterscotch chips. The pumpkin flavor is nice. It's a tad dry. Would like it better with chocolate chips instead. The latte with oat milk is good, the coffee is flavorful. The Mediterranean turkey was ok. The multigrain was extremely hard, the kind that will tear up your mouth. Not a lot of hummus to it. It's good it has the yellow peppers or it would be really bland and tasteless. The green mango tea is good. Good flavors. Perfectly steeped. It's quiet in the seating area, louder hearing the staff's conversations in the back kitchen area.

(It's not on the menu, but they do have a size smaller than 12 ounces -- just ask.) When the people behind the counter learned that the hot chocolate was for a child, these considerate people took the extra step to make the drink a little cooler in temperature than normal. And I didn't even have to ask! Because, you know, kids can't tolerate any type of food or drink that isn't tepid. I appreciated that thoughtfulness! I ordered a black coffee, and unfortunately, I didn't like it at all. It tasted burnt and like hot prune juice -- just not good. I'm sure the coffee tastes good in drinks with milk and sugar in them, but as a black coffee drinker, the black coffee needs to stand on its own. Lucky Bean is located off the main drag, in a cute little neighborhood. The inside of the coffee shop is tight -- there is barstool seating by the window, but mostly, this is a to-go coffee shop. It's small, and you can't really stay and drink your beverages here.

If you get the to-go, do be sure to check the lid is on solidly. They do double cup and sometimes the lid can seem on, but may be obstructed by the double cups as seat it. My wife stumbled onto this place while site seeing with visiting friends. Originally I believe it just started out as a bakery. And they bake just about everything. Cookies, bread, rolls, hamburger buns, cinnamon rolls, pies, brownies, lemon bars, date squares, etc. It's a quant little place that seats about 20-30 but there are picnic tables outside and there is a nice little waterside park right before you cross over the bridge (on the way there). All of their menu items are made 100% in house. Pizzas are made with their dough recipe. Aside from their regular menu they have an advertised special daily. On Thursdays they serve the best fish and chips on the continent. We make the 40 minute drive at least twice a month just for that. Their daily specials are posted on Facebook. So if you're driving on Highway 17 and you're going past St Joseph's Island do yourself a favor and take the 10 minute detour. They are open from 7am - 2pm for regular menu items and until 6 for their daily specials and take out.
