This shop is such a gem, offering classic bakery staples, delicious macarons, and fun, bakery-themed items. I especially love their "kindness coupons"--such a thoughtful gesture for anyone who could use a little treat. I attended one of their macaron classes, and while I don't know what their kitchen looked like before, it had been fully transformed into a student-friendly workspace with stations set up for each group. After signing in, you're directed to your station and handed an apron. The spots are semi-assigned--if you booked with a friend or a small group, Kasey does a great job placing you together. Everything you need is laid out and ready to go. Kasey walks you through the whole process, checking in along the way and sharing helpful tips she's picked up throughout her macaron-making journey. You and your partner split the batter, but you each get to do your own mixing, choose your colors, and pipe your own shells, which makes it a really hands-on experience. While the macarons are baking, you're treated to sweet bites like brownies or crispy rice treats. Once the macarons have cooled, you fill, package, and--of course--sneak a few tastes along the way. The whole class is so fun, approachable, and well-paced. Afterward, you even get the chance to take home some bakery goodies at a discount! I absolutely love their bakery items, and the class was such a blast. Can't wait to go back!

Date of visit: January 26, 2024…read more Our January version of "Coffee & Kringle" brought us to Batter and Mac in the Falls. A friend had heard that they had gotten some flack from the local Republicans for being pro-LGBT and that was enough for us to go pay them a visit. Staff were wonderful and friendly, even suggesting that I get the Wicked-themed matcha latte with strawberry cold foam, something that I did not think I would necessarily like, but she pushed it hard and you know what? She was right! It was a delicious drink that I may or may not have licked the lid to ensure I got all of the cold foam... My ham and cheese croissant was quite good, though I think it would have been better had it been warmed up. And then I went back for a Scotcheroo and that was fantastic. I had intended to just have a bite that morning and finish it later but there was no way I could do that, I ended up eating the entire thing while we were visiting. Outside of the room temp croissant, the reason for four stars instead of five here is because the bakery gets VERY cold everytime the door opens, I probably should have kept my coat on the whole time we were there. I think one of those ceiling-mounted air units would help mitigate this and get me to stay a bit longer (and order more food!) in the colder months.

The cookies are large so snacking on them is a dangerous road to go down, but oh, so worth it! I left then on a plate on my counter and as the day went on the cookies started to disappear. Luckily I had family to help me, but these are great cookies! No pictures of the whole cookies because they were started on before I could grab my camera. They will be gone by bedtime, I'm sure. These have flavor, unlike some others that are just plain dough with little flavor except for the chips or m&ms. Every bite is great!

My friend ordered a scotcheroo and a coffee. I watched the frozen lemonade being made, and it consisted of water, syrup from a refrigerated jug, a couple scoops of powder, and ice. Unfortunately, it tasted very artificial, more like frozen plastic than lemonade. I'd encourage the owner to consider using real lemons or more natural ingredients, as I think it would make a huge difference. My friend said the scotcheroo and coffee were good, but not particularly memorable.

She was polite at first and seemed to be sure in her skill to make the cake how I wanted. After the cake didn't turn out how I wanted and I made this known her attitude changed completely. It looked like she had attempted to cut the heart out by hand instead of using a heart shaped cake pan or any other technique to get a heart shape. Her piping was also uneven and the wording was crooked. I stayed professional and simply asked if she could try again because it looked nothing like the pictures I sent her and she said she would but refused to give me the original frosting I asked for, "because it would take too long ." After this she tried again but it was still looked awful and he same as when I first picked it up except the extra frosting she added. The frosting wasn't even fully mixed with the pink color so it was different gradients. I tried to talk to her about what was wrong and at this point she simply told me she couldn't do what I wanted after preordering almost a month in advanced and agreed she could. I was quite upset by now as this was supposed to be a birthday gift to myself, when she saw me this upset she told me she would give me my money back and that I could keep the cake. She handed me a check and I left. When I got home and tasted the cake it was frankly quite gross. I would not suggest purchasing from here unless you are only looking to get a cake because you want cake and don't care how it looks.

It reminded me of many of the smaller places I saw and visited in Europe. I was able to purchase slices of cake but I saw they had whole cakes available for purchase. I bought a slice of pineapple and a slice of strawberry cake. The pineapple was my favorite because it was light and airy. The citrus was divine and not overpowering. I could tell it was made with love and I can't wait to go back and buy another slice. The strawberry, my usual favorite was also wonderful. The owner came out to talk to me which made the visit more special. She told me they have ice cream in the summer so I can't wait to go back! Luckily, I live within walking distance so this will become a favorite hangout for me. They sometimes have specials and they have a cute little spot inside where I can sit and read with my service dog. You can find this bakery in the quad near Colectivo on the corner of Washington Street in Grafton. There's plenty of parking in the adjacent lot, but I was told you can also park on the street. They have a website if you just want to order ahead or order something for that special event! If you live in Grafton, don't miss out on this spot. If you don't live in Grafton, drive on down and check it out! I don't think you'll be disappointed. Just remember if you see me, service dogs are not pets and the calories in desserts don't count if you eat them quickly!

I got the Manhattan off their specialty menu and my husband got their autumn barrel Manhattan. After trying both--highly recommend the one off their specialty menu. It was definitely superior quality. It's served over a block of ice so if you want it up, you may want to mention that when ordering. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. I had a bite and he ordered well--it was decadently buttery and delicious. The service was super kind throughout our stay. Our server checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Get to it!
