My favorite DC food truck. Everything is gluten free, good portions, reasonable prices, and amazing customer service. I have been loving the food from this truck for over ten years, and wanted to add a new review, if you get the chance eat at this truck!

100% gluten free food truck!! I get the chicken arepa with cheese every time, it's so good. Every time I visit DC with my family, we hunt down this food truck. The owner is super nice and even remembered my family's order!

If you see this food truck, hungry or not, grab yourself a capacha. Sweet corn patty filled with a protein or cheese and you can add, black beans or plantains. Be sure to remember hot sauce! Seize the day.

OMG!!! This place is absolutely BOMB! The cachapas are freakin' AMAZING!!! Cachapas (Corn pancake sandwiches) are amazing. The arepas are fantastic, but the cachapas are on another level! They're addictive! I swing by here on a regular and try to tell as many people as I can about this spot. Definitely a must do food truck in DC!

I honestly haven't met an arepa I haven't liked but this is the first time I experienced a cachapa! Wow! I may have a new favorite dish. The cachapa is 2 corn pancakes with your choice of filling. Any additional toppings cost extra so it can get pretty pricey. I ordered chicken with cheese and it came to about $10. Arepazone is a much better deal since the toppings are included in the price but they do not have cachapas!

This is definitely one of the top food trucks that I've had in the area. It really depends on what you order, but if you order the right dish, you will come away happy. I've had their Arepas, Cachapas, Tacos, and Tamales. The good: The Arepas and Cachapas are amazingly delicious! They are both excellent choices, but I prefer the Cachapas over the Arepas. I ordered both with Pollo Mechado with all the additional sides (Plantains, Avocado, Black Beans, and Cheese). The combination is flavorful and everything taste very good. I prefer the Cachapas because of the corn pancakes that makes the dish softer and a little sweeter. The bad: Wasn't a fan of the tacos or tamales. The tacos tasted a little bland, and the tamales were too dry. I've had tamales that have been freshly made that tasted moist and flavorful, but I didn't enjoy the ones from here. Overall, I keep coming back to this food truck because of the Arepas and Cachapas! The food is totally worth it and the cost is pretty consistent with DC food trucks.

My son and I are huge fans of arepas, so after a recent trip to the American History museum, we were excited to find The Corn Factory. What we didn't realize is that arepas can differ depending on region. The arepas we loved were from a Columbia restaurant at home, and The Corn Factory is Venezuelan. Didn't think perfection could be perfected, but these were amazing. So much so that the next day when we were sightseeing another area, we hoofed it in 95 degree it just to enjoy this food truck again. In all, we ordered arepas with shredded beef and cheese (one with plantains, very good addition!), cachepas with shredded chicken and cheese, and chicken tacos with cheese and avocado. The woman who ran the truck was also great. Very friendly and hard working.

Carne Mechada Arepa w plantain and cheese. Looked so good that I forgot to take a picture until I was half done!

This was absolutely amazing food and a great gluten-free option convenient to the mall. The owner is super friendly. Arepa w shredded beef and plantain hot the spot! Lots of shade on the mall for a picnic in front of the memorials.

I needed to visit the Corn Factory two weeks in a row to confirm what I thought on my initial visit - 5 stars. On my first visit, I got the arepas - combo chicken and beef. Both meats were juicy and nicely seasoned. I was surprised to see that I got just one arepa with literally the chicken and beef side by side (for some reason I expected two separate arepas, although that was a leap I made on my own). My meal also came with tomatillo salsa, which was excellent. 2nd visit I got the tacos and chose carne asada, added avocado and pico de gallo on the side. The meat was seasoned nicely, juicy, and the portion was plenty filling! The avocado was fresh and they definitely didn't skimp on the portions. Prices are reasonable, portions filling, and fillings fresh. One of my new favorite trucks!

3.5 stars. Good price point for food truck food. Very aesthetically pleasing presentation. Not very generous on the cheese for the additional charge, nor on the pico de gallo. Chicken was rather dry and all dark meat. Might return if in the area, but overall this was a little disappointing. Friendly staff a plus.

Went out the food trucks for lunch like I usually do on Fridays, and came across this food truck. I had been craving tacos so I ordered the carne asada tacos with cheese and then avocados on the side. They were delicious and exactly what I expected. The only thing is that afterwards I realized I should of been charged 10$ instead of 11$. Since the tacos were 8.50, cheese .50 cents and avocado 1.00. Besides that I love them!

Love this business and the ladies that run it!…read more I stumbled across Round Pocket Arepas at the Southwest Farmer's Market. There was always a line coming from their stand, so I used to just pass by with mild intrigue. Then one morning, I decided to wait in the line. As I waited, I took note of all the choices I was going to have to make. You can have your arepa filled with so many different combos and I didn't want to get to the front of the line with order fright. You can choose between different types of dough (chia, beet, yellow corn, white corn and spinach) and then choose your fillings. This is when things can get a little crazy, but it's okay to go wild. They have eggs, sausage, plantain, chicken, cheese, beans, corn (and maybe a few other fillings that I'm forgetting.) Typically, I opt for a breakfast style arepa filled with eggs, sausage and cheese. Oh, and you've got to add some of their fresh sauces to top them off. They have a parsley-cilantro, a tomato-onion and a spicy sauce. The combination of all three is where the magic happens, so do be scared to really sauce it up. The eggs are freshly scrambled on the stove and I love that the sausages are almost more like hot dogs. This combo is so addictive and comforting in a way. It's also very filling. If I eat one at noon I'm usually not hungry again at all until dinner. I also always order the raw cane sugar juice. It's served in a cup with lots of ice and it's really simple, fresh and not too sweet. It's the perfect summer drink to sip on while you listen to live music at the farmer's market and wait for your arepa to be made. Since every arepa is custom to each order, you may have to wait 5-10 mins, but it's worth it because everything is being made freshly right in front of you. Additionally, the owners Mila and Maria are awesome! Repping Venezuela and Colombia, they're so willing to share and educate. They're passionate about what they do, upbeat, warm, fun and you can tell they truly care about their customers and service. They only launched the business 6 months ago and for now you can only find them at the SW Farmer's Market. But they have plans to eventually expand and this girl right here (yup, me) is rooting for them. Wishing Round Pocket Arepas nothing but continued success!!

I have to give Chicken + Whiskey credit. It takes a special kind of arrogance to serve food that…read morelooks like this while also lecturing customers through a mandatory "fair labor fee." Let's start with the obvious. If labor matters so much, build it into the price. Every other business manages to pay employees without turning the receipt into a public relations campaign. Instead, Chicken + Whiskey wants customers to admire them for charging extra after the fact. As for the food, the chicken looked less "wood fired" and more "insurance claim." One piece was so aggressively charred it appeared to have entered the atmosphere and returned. The sides were forgettable, the presentation was indistinguishable from a middle school cafeteria tray, and absolutely nothing on the table justified the premium pricing. The entire experience feels engineered by a marketing team. Keep the menu prices looking lower than reality. Add surprise fees later. Call them something noble. Hope nobody notices. We noticed. The funniest part is that the restaurant seems convinced the labor fee demonstrates transparency. Real transparency would be putting the actual price on the menu. What they're doing is the restaurant equivalent of an airline advertising a cheap ticket and then charging separately for the wings. For a place so concerned with fairness, they seem remarkably comfortable being unfair about pricing. I left feeling like I'd paid admission to watch a TED Talk about compensation practices while eating chicken that looked like it had been recovered from a structure fire. The food wasn't good enough to justify the price. The price wasn't honest enough to justify the policy. The policy wasn't clever enough to justify the attitude. One star. Raise your prices. Pay your staff. Stop expecting applause for it.

It was also very acid forward and lacked layers/balance to the flavor. Lastly, we tried two desserts: the flan (I believe it was called quesillo) and the chocolate one. I LOVED the flan with the foam on top, and the chocolate one was towards the bitter side (which was pretty good) but I wouldn't get it again. The desserts were very overpriced for the size of it.
