Came here for date since it seemed like a out-of-the-box idea and was affordable ($10 when purchased tickets online). You enter the little comedy club through the side door, kinda dodgy. And immediately see the bar & bartender whom you have to check-in with before entering. Most people get drinks but you're not pressured to. Make sure you arrive 10-15min early to snatch good spots. We attended the 9PM show in October 2017. The host starts out and really plays off the crowd. He's absolutely hilarious. After about 10 minutes of his own antics, he'll introduce the next pre-headliner stand-up comedian to perform. There were 5 pre-headliners and majority of them were GREAT. Styles ranged from dark humour, jokes that resonated with my immigrant & minority roots, funny stories with punchlines & just straight up weird funny sets that lasted ~10min each. The headliner himself was great as well, energetic stage presence and super animated. Wish I could've seen online what the line-up is so I can follow their shows!! Overall, I loved every second. Super neat way of experiencing live stand-up comedy and laughing up a storm. **UPDATE: we came here again for the 7PM show on June 2018 and the entire line-up and host were different...unfortunately for the worse. A lot of the sets started off very awkwardly, were A LOT more vulgar and sexual, and just not that funny. read more

I don't know why but I was shocked at how small the place was! Did not do my homework before going. We went there for a 10 pm show on Halloween but it was quiet, very friendly bartender and comedians though and it turned out better than I expected but if you're uncomfortable with intimate spacing and atmosphere then this might not be the place for you. So I loved the venue. The comedy was... needing work. But then it was entertaining in how bad it was. So it was so bad that it was kinda good?? I saw how kind and gentle the Canadian audience was for new comics... we all exercised empathy.... and it was just an exercise ground for the kids trying to do stand up. Very small venue. Get there early or you'll end up sitting right up front. Literally within arms reach or the comedian. We saw about 4-5 comedians. Two of them were funny the other ones appeared to be high. As high as a cloud. If you're driving give yourself time for parking and read the posted signs. Some areas require permits. The entrance is on the side of the building. Drinks are pretty cheap. Two beers cost us less than $20CAD. They only have three types of beer which makes it easy to choose. My boyfriend and I were in Toronto for the weekend and we wanted to check out some of the comedians Canada had to offer. So happy we found this place! It's a small, but intimate spot. The whole club could fit around 20-25 guests, which I liked because the comedians were up close and personal with the crowd. We went to an 11pm show on a Friday, and the club was pretty much filled. The set up of comedians were great, some more funny than others. But no doubt, a good show overall. Definitely glad we came. I recommend coming to a show here if you're in the mood to laugh without spending a lot. It was also convenient being able to buy tickets on their website. read more

Small space, people sit way to close. I was there for a Sunday night show, didn't know boo-ing and heckling was the theme. I was planning on having drinks and enjoying good comedy. The comedians had no jokes or acts, they were targeting us and other audience to make up bullying-jokes. The rest of the audience were throwing hate speech at so many levels and grounds at the comedians. It felt like we were in a roast show, just throwing insults at anyone and everyone. You can tell when a comedian is making a joke vs using the stage to make hate speech. Never going back here! It's a tiny tiny comedy club in the middle of Queen West. Lots of different shows. The one we went to featured 6 comics and an umm interesting host. All of the comics had just come back from Just for Laughs in Montreal. The comedy was hit and miss as per most things. Makes sense that this would be the kinda place where comedians practice for a bigger audience to see what works. The place has a very you're in the big city watching live comedy vibe. If you are on a budget for entertainment then this place is good. I went because a guy on the corner was handing out flyers. It's a small place which is intimide which is good for comedy. We went on a Saturday night, they had seasoned comedians BUT it was their testing ground, place where they test their jokes. Some were funny and others had a good time. If I could I would give this "club" zero stars. We went there after a guy at the corner of Queens and John St gave me an advertisment flyer for this location. After he told us that this is a great bar to drink and enjoy comedy and the entry is FREE we decided to give it a chance. Once we walked into it the first thing we were confronted by was the entrance lady who told us to pay $ 10 each to even enter this tiny place. After a few weird looks on both sides we told them we're definitely not going to stay and they started to beg us to stay but were also not willing to expect less than the not-advertised entry money of $20 total. It was such a bizarre moment and I still wonder how can anyone expect people to enter this place after such a terrible advertisment-strategy which is literally lying to the customer. I would never set a foot into this very uncomftable environment again. read more

Very small. I think I counted 7 tables. Not exactly a good option if you're looking to stop by randomly without a reservation. I did just that and I got the last seats. If I came 5-10 mins later there might have been no room left. Having to share a table with a stranger is a possibility. Having the stranger doze off due to unknown reasons leaving you unable to get up to go to the bar to get a drink is a possibility (yes, this actually happened). The entrance can be easy to miss. Small venue- think rubbing knees with the person seated next to you. I would say it's a hidden gem that is likely hit or miss given the line up changes. Tickets are $10 each (including tax) and can be reserved online or if come in advance, you can get them at the door. The MC was funny IMO (Dave?) and warmed up the crowd first. My friend had seen the MC perform stand up before and some of the jokes were recycled but they landed well and if they didn't he pivoted off it very well! Then there were 3 "newbie" comics (Kyle, Jay, and Rick Rolly) and 2 out of 3 were quite good (but again comedy is so personal). The final act/headliner was a comedian from Winnipeg who had some funny stories about working in a porn video store and also was great at starting by riffing on the crowd (the usual: people's names, their relationship w/ the person they came with and their jobs) for first 15-20 mins! If you sit in the front 2 tables or on either side of the stage be prepared to be roasted:) We were laughing most of the time. The humour can be low brow at times (lots of jokes on masturbation, sex, etc....) so go with the right people. For eg I couldn't take my mom! Cash only for drinks and tickets. Limited beer options (think Mill St organic in a bottle or cans of PBR) but reasonably priced. Would i recommend to a friend? Yes Would I come back? Yes! read more

A great, intimate (read tiny) location just off Queen Street West. I don't think it can hold more than 30 people but it really works. The size and casual atmosphere connect you to the talent and I love that they give a platform for local comics to practice and perform. Some of the comics were developing for sure, but others were very solid. For the price and to support local talent; in is an awesome venue. I also like how engaged and engaging the owner is who started it up 3 years ago. His passion for comedy and the city is evident and appreciated. read more

Tiny tiny tiny. Not very clean. Bathroom was nice, but cramped. There was no room in this place. Staff was kind of rude when our group chose to stand on a Friday night, rather than sit scattered across the room in the few seats left. $15 cover was steep for the caliber of show. The MC was hilarious the night we went, but the remaining 5 acts were not my cup of tea. One guy was even talking about showering with his son & grabbing his sons penis...sick, not funny one bit. Another talked about his abusive mother being in jail and all the different ways she abused him. Again, sad, not funny. Feel bad for the people up front, bc they were so close they were getting spit on...that gave us a laugh Tip: If you go to this place, go very early to the early show, so you can sit in a good spot along the walls. We went 30 min before the late show & nearly all the seats were already spoken for by the previous show's attendees. I think this is a cool cheap way to spend ur Friday night. If you buy tickets online it's 10$, at the door it's 15$. The entrance is along the left side of the building. It's super small inside. There was no more than 25 people inside. And there were 6 comics. Most of them were funny. And even if they had a joke that bombed, they would just work off the crowd. Since each act is about 10 mins long, you get a good taste of different comics. The guy hosting the show has a good energy and was pretty much roasting the crowd. I thought it was hilarious. If you're not the type of person that likes to get made fun of, I wouldn't sit in the front. The drinks are also reasonably priced. Went on Wednesday - date night. The host, Ryan was amazing. A good mix of stand-up comics and a good mix of crowd. Some comics were better than others which we expected (lets be realistic) but overall a very good experience. The drinks are not that overly expensive, considering i paid less than $20 for a pair of tickets (they have to make money somewhere, right?). I visited this place for the first time on a Sunday. Apparently the theme that night is bad comedy and boo-ing and heckling. I wish this was stated online as it really was not what I was looking for. Nonetheless, it still could have been a great time as there were a couple of comics that garnered a couple of genuine laughs from real jokes. Unfortunately, the night was ruined by one of the guest in the audience who apparently is a regular who comes every Saturday named Richard. He completely ruined the night. Unsure if he's paid to be a planted audience member as the comedians would go back and forth with him, even as he would spew hate, try and target others with racist jokes. He continuously disrupted the comedians that even if the comedians had any good jokes they were disrupted and ended just going back and forth with Richard. I really wish they would have just kicked him out so we could have gone back to the show. But they didn't, which makes me think that these comedians don't have any jokes and simply rely on Richard to poke fun of and distract the audience from the show. The host says that it's better on other nights but the lack of description online to get an idea of what type of comedy you are signing up for, makes me lose complete faith that it could be better. Which is why I will never return. This show was more of a poorly done roast, that feature bad jokes, racism, and hate speech. Save your money and your mood and do not go here. read more

Been here once and never again. Saw the cheap $10 tickets and jumped all over it with some buddies of mine, but almost immediately regretted it as soon as we arrived at the small, sketchy, run-down venue. The place may seem packed, but to echo another fellow Yelper, "there were more 'comedians' in the bar than customers." The bartender was cold and unhelpful (she only had one kind of beer and didn't know how to make the simplest of drinks), the hosts were okay but ultimately super awkward and way too drunk, and last but definitely the least, there were the "comedians." Devoid of any comedic talent whatsoever, 10 amateur, wannabe comedians each took the stage for about 10 or so minutes, and each was escorted off afterwards to a symphony of boos. I personally maybe let out half a chuckle twice in my entire 2 hour visit there - it was shameful, awkward, uncomfortable, and overall just not funny in general. $10 may seem cheap, but honestly, I'd say just go buy a pizza instead. I was pretty disappointed in the show tonight. The other 1 star reviews for this club are very accurate. I've been to lots of comedy clubs and this one was by far one of the worst. The comedians lacked content, which would have been okay, but their improv skills were weak. Maybe they can use some of these Yelp reviews as new content. This is such a diamond in the rough, a micro convenience store conveniently converted into the hottest spot for up and coming local comedians as well as the perfect underground location for big tickets acts who miss the intimacy of the small gig. Its tight quarters so bring your thick skin as there is no hiding in here. Thumbs up. We came from upstate New York and were looking for things to do with my dad from Arizona. As nervous as I get about live comedy, I figured $10 wasn't going to make me regret things. So anyway: six comics, short sets, no jokes that targeted us as Americans, as much as we deserve anything lobbed our way. It's a very small venue so prepare to get cozy with your neighbor, even if that may be a stranger. If it's not funny, order another beer and lighten up. You may be targeted by the MC so wear a shirt you wouldn't mind being remembered for. The comics were all very different (styles, jokes, pace) which we agreed was fantastic - it was like speed dating. What, I never did that! Just saying that's what it probably would be like if you were someone who did that. It was edgy without ever being awkward, so thanks for that, because my 70-year-old father was there and I didn't want to have to explain anything. We will definitely come again the next time being from the U.S. gets to be too much. read more
