    Steak and Augratin

The food and service here is most definitely 5 star all the way! Not just saying this but the food really is phenomenal and different than other eats. You HAVE TO try them. First their cocktails are amazing and delicious!Balanced and well made. The bartenders know how to make a balanced and delicious cocktail. I got the Paperplane! Best one I've had yet. Food was superb. We started with the Tuna Tartar with Cilantro on top. A very delicious appetizer to start with. Loved every bite. One of the best Tuna Tar Tar apps I've ever had. We then got the Shrimp salad. I know I sounds like a broken record but this salad was also super on point. Amazing tasting dressing. Fresh crispy lettuce. I then got the Halibut. Superb! Hot, fresh and great sauce that came along with it. Very filling and healthy. GF got the steak. She doesn't eat steak very often. BUT WHEN SHE DOES she always gets it from here. I took a few bites and it was on point. The Steak and Augratin potatoes were fire. Loved everything about this place. Highly recommend the food here. Can't go wrong!

Had dinner here to celebrate a Gender Reveal party. Ordered adult beverages, appetizers and entrees. Steak, Chicken, Halibut are the main entrees being presented on the main dinner menu. Received our meals in a timely manner. 5 stars for the customer service received. Our server had consistent communication with us, always checking up on us while we dined. The drinks were delicious but the main entrees were a bit salty and the portions size did not justify the prices being sold for. I was confused if this is supposed to be a fine dining place or a casual dining place due to dinner prices on the menu. Overall The ambiance is great. I would come here again. We had fun. In regards to the taste, I will give it another try with a different chef on board. Cool intimate place to chill.

Short ribs tacos are so tasty! The 48 hours fries are also a good dish to share! Plain French fries that are just good and perfectly air fry. Had a chance to try the steak tonight and that was perfectly cooked and well flavored! Delicious! The old fashion is good- if it's your drink come try it here! They do make a few other old fashion with a twist and those are fun too. The decore is so cute! There is a bar side with TV and bar stools and there is a sit down side for date nights and family. They also have outdoor seating. This place is a gem! The staff is also wonderful which always makes the dining experience that MUCH better. Plenty of parking outside.

We stopped in for a quick pre-dinner drink and were warmly greeted by Nick, the bartender, whose hospitality set the tone for a great experience. He mixed us two perfectly balanced French 75s. The flavor was crisp, refreshing, and clearly made with care. The intimate space, with its artsy decor and moody lighting, had an unexpectedly welcoming atmosphere, thanks to both the friendly staff and laid-back clientele. While we didn't sample the food this time, we'll happily return for another round before sushi. If the cocktails are any sign, the food is likely just as impressive.

Brown Sugar Buttercake was amazing and definitely in my Top 3. It comes with an incredible Maple Bourbon Glaze.

As usual the 48hr Fries are phenomenal. Crispy and airy. Properly salted. Excellent dips. The Tuna Tartare Tostadas were very flavorful and even had a hint of lime. They were served on fresh crispy tortillas. The Hand Cut Saffron Linguini was good but it could have been cooked a bit longer as it was rather al dente. It also could have benefited from a splash of cream which would have complimented the crab. The Brown Sugar Buttercake was amazing and definitely in my Top 3, which includes Mastro's and Eddie V's. It comes with an incredible Maple Bourbon Glaze. Nice drink menu and full bar. No corkage fee if you'd like to bring your own bottle of wine.

The decor is absolutely beautiful, with a cozy lounge feel, great music, and that hidden speakeasy energy that makes the night feel special. They also have lounge seating, a piano bar, fireplace, and 70s music, which adds to the whole experience.

This speakeasy is known for taking your cell phone and having a no photo policy. So when they didnt take our phones, we thought we were being sneaky with taking photos. Turns out on Sundays, it is their relaxed day where you are allowed to keep your phone, and they have the side door out onto PCH open. I loved this, but also hated it if I am being honest. PCH is so loud with motorcycles non stop, and it made the room very light. It didnt really feel like a speakeasy as you could enter right off the street. We entered through the hostess stand at HQ Gastropub. I had asked one of the hostesses what we needed to do and she stated she just arrived for work and I would have to ask another hostess when they came up to the stand. Bit weird, not the friendliest welcome, but the staff inside Graceland made up for that. The hostess lets them know we are there and someone comes out to take us back to the red door in the middle of the restaurant down a hall of colored barrels. Typically that is the only place you are allowed to take a photo before you hand over your phone. Back to the service. The bartender was AMAZING. She was so friendly and just amazing. Our waitress was great too, they were both helping us out. I wish I got the bartenders name, she was such a ray of sunshine and sparkle. Literally, she had a sequin top on and the sun hitting it put sparkle across the entire room. I had two glasses of chardonnay that were delicious. I also had a sip of my friends drinks and they were DELICIOUS! We did order food, and I ordered the spicy garlic edamame but never received it. I also was not charged for it, so it is what it is. The sushi nachos were good, as well as the beignets. I am not going to share the photos I took here, because I feel they want to keep it a surprise and I honor that. I would like to come back another time when the door is not open, it is darker and more private for the full speakeasy experience.

Afterwards, the owner stopped by to say hi and since it was our first visit, he gave us shots for the whole table. Very kind of him. My personal favorite was the fried rice, but everything else was tasty too! We also got dessert which was the pandan butterscotch pudding - yummy! Service was wonderful. They were attentive and kind and quick. They brought out some birthday ice cream for the two birthday girls in the party. Ambiance was great. We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.

To start with the restaurant has Banksy artwork throughout, dark wood flooring and blue velvet upholstered chairs as well as a large patio seating option. Spanish octopus ($36) - The octopus here is prepared sous vide and was super tender and tasted amazing. It's served with mashed chick peas, garlic aioli, Romanesco, pickled peppers, and crispy sesame rice chips. Lemon taglierni ($24) - The pasta is made in house and was so fresh and had such a fragrant and strong lemon flavor. Filetto ($78) - I was looking forward to trying this dish as it consisted of 6 oz of prime filet with cacio e pepe raviolo on top all served on top of some sautéed Spinach and wild mushrooms. The beef was so tender, juicy, and flavorful and was prepared medium rare. Such a beautiful dish and the pasta was outstanding as well. Lasagna ossobuco ($48) - This lasagna was made with braised veal shank, saffron bechamel, salmoriglio sauce and bone marrow. Like all the dishes that I tried here, it was visually stunning and great melt in your mouth meaty flavoring. Birthday canolis - complimentary canolis were served for my birthday and the shell was crispy with a wonderful ricotta cream filling. Pavlova ($16) - From the dessert menu my group shared this which is also offered with berries instead of passion fruit. It consists of meringue on the bottom layer, with a vanilla mascarpone on top, followed by a passion fruit compote. It had a wonderful balance of sweetness and tanginess. Complimentary lemon cookies are provided to diners at the end of the meal and they were nice and light. Overall I was so impressed with all the dishes here. They were visually stunning and tasted just as good. When the server brought out each dish he explained a little about it and the ingredients incorporated in it. Definitely not your average Italian restaurant! I really enjoyed their starter dish which was a different take on the caprese appetizer. I loved the dry aged tuna in coconut sauce, this was probably the best tuna I have ever had, it was so melt in your mouth good and the coconut sauce was extremely flavorful. The pea risotto and the rockfish with the asparagus was also really good! The rockfish was covered with fingerling potatoes and the potatoes were super crispy and went well with the moist fish! The next dish was the duck. I am not a huge duck person, it was a little tough but the flavor was really good. However the duck confit wrapped in cabbage was super good! The lamb was pretty tender! I really enjoyed the mushroom and artichoke that came with it! I loved the deconstructed lemon cheesecake! Just get it! There was also a filler dessert that was a chocolate truffle, cream puff, and a blackberry tart. This was all underwhelming. I did took off a star (I would give this place 4.5 stars!) because the food kind of took a while to come out and it the whole dinner took about 2 hours. I really appreciated the complimentary glass of wine for the wait! We also sat at the bar and it was a little unorganized with a bunch of stuff at the end of the bar, not a big deal but an eyesore for a really nice restaurant. Overall this place is really good and I would return to try more dishes!
