I work in the area so I passed this place often and I've been wanting to try it for quite some time. A lot of my coworkers have said great things about it so I decided to give it a try today. It's located right on Santa Monica Blvd on a gas station property inside where you pay for gas. One end of it is the market and the other end is for the gas station. In between are rows of the refrigerators and aisles of snacks so it was really nice to have all those drink options. The lady behind the counter was also really polite and it was just a really quick and easy experience to get my lunch. The menu is really large and they specialize in sandwiches. My order was ready shortly after I placed the order and it really hit the spot. I would recommend, especially if you are in a hurry or looking for a good quick casual meal. read more

I wish I took a picture of what i just had, I ate the fiesta bowl, and I gotta say it was amazing. Just like the "Homelander" meme, "it was perfect, perfect, down to the last minuet detail." The Fiesta Bowl with chicken and no cheese, absolutely perfect. The jalapeño ranch, perfect as well. I've had fiesta bowls from other locations, but this was absolute perfection. It's hard for me to throw a claim like that because there are others with different taste pallets and can say this plate is okay or just good, but I will claim this bowl is perfect. One thing I learned when living in New York was to appreciate the local food trucks and nondescript delis and such as they often serve pretty awesome food. When you are working in Los Angeles for a week and your only other options are Starbucks, crossing the supremely busy Santa Monica Blvd for an equally boring Panera Bread on the Go.... sometimes you have to be creative. Enter The Corner. Located inside the Mobil Mart, if you look to your right instead of buying food, drinks, liquor, or lotto tickets.... you'll see this bustling kitchen where you can get a bunch of Mexican deli delights. You can also get some decent breakfast options too. Because I'm a simpleton sometimes, I settled for a simple egg and cheese on a toast. But the quantity was pretty damn impressive for where you are at. It's not the cheapest, but definitely better than the name brands. I think I'll come back if I'm in LA next time. read more

This place never disappoints! Everytime my boyfriend gets us food from here it's always hot and delicious. Every morning I look forward to the Mexican breakfast bowl. This thing lasted all day, there portion's are huge. You definitely get what you pay for plus some..lol. they are super nice also. From the quality to the product of food and size this is a fast pace food service so there is some space very limited if you want to sit outside and it's outdoorsy. I had to laugh... my friend and I decided to grab a bite quickly before a memorial service, of all things. Didn't look closely and realize that it's a snack bar attached to a gas station lobby. Oopsie. Credit where credit is due. They were great, it was a funny process to cross the lobby to pay at the gas station counter to come back for your food... but they did a cute job with the little outside walkway-turned-patio, we actually had a brick wall on one side and a hedge on the other. Nobody else was around. It was almost ironically/comically serene... in a Mobil parking lot. Kinda. This place has its reasons to go and others not to. The PROS: the food is amazing, specifically the breakfast. The french toast is wounderful. The staff is very friendly and follow up to see if you need anything very regularly so its a great expirence. The ambiance is good but this is a place to go with your friends to have a good time and chill out maybe grab a few beers or such. The CONS: the hookah is ok not bad but also not the best. My job takes me back to the Westside again, and again, lunch at my favorite little hidden gem. I've been back here many times, since my first review, and I discovered that this place is way better than I first thought. So that's why the upgrade in the rating. In a gas station? don't let the looks of it deceive you, this place is a certified hidden gem. If you take a look at their menu, they have more than just sandwiches. Everything that I've tried has been above average, but my go to item is the California grilled chicken sandwich, comes with a decent size grilled chicken breast, lettuce & tomatoes, avocado and thousand island dressing. (I switch the dressing to mayo) This is a great tasting sandwich and it's healthy too, unless you get a side of French fries with it. Place gets really busy during the lunch rush, so I strongly recommend that you call your order in ahead of time. Nice little outdoor eating area. Parking sucks during this time, plenty of metered street parking available. Can't wait to get that sandwich again. 4 stars from me read more

The Corner is a staple at my job, a building down the street from them. I've seen people order and rave about their burritos, burgers, sandwiches and breakfasts. I love their breakfast burrito which I enjoy with either bacon or chorizo as the meat option. The chorizo is really good and not greasy which is hard to come by. The breakfast potatoes are amazing! I get them on the side of my burrito or just order them a la carts with some turkey bacon and eggs. They're seasoned and cooked with bell pepper and onion (which I truthfully don't eat as I don't enjoy those foods but it gives the best flavor to the potatoes. I can also vouch for their BLT - it's really good not great but crispy and great amount of tomatoes. The California Melt another favorite of mine for lunch, good deli sandwich with some mild spice. The fries and tater tots are good but some times over salted. I'd say 7/10. I took one star off because one major constant is the inconsistency when it comes to how MUCH food you get. Some days it's a free tablespoons of potatoes when other days it's a huge portion. Same for the amount of bacon or avocado they put in things. I tend to think it comes down to who is prepping the food that day. read more

I've recommended this spot to a lot of people since I first tried it about 7 years ago. But it had been a couple years since I last ate there for anything besides breakfast. Went the other day to get a burger, as I remembered them being really good. Man, was I disappointed. It was like a frozen Smart & Final patty that was cooked to death. Texture like rubber. The Corner came in clutch for me when our original catering order fell through. Anna helped me place an order for ~20 people about 24 hours before the event and it worked out perfectly. We went with French toast + hashbrown, breakfast croissant sandwiches w/ham (half with no cheese), and a fruit tray. All event attendees enjoyed the food. This is a tiny eatery that exists within the Mobil gas station on the corner of Santa Monica and Sepulveda in West Los Angeles. It has a small-dedicated patio area located outside, and I've heard people raving about how great it is, but in reality for me: it is just okay. The food is passable, and the wait staff was not that great. I did arrive about 25 minutes before closing on a Saturday, and as soon as I approached the counter I was told they were closed, but I pointed out that according to information on the menu they would be closing in about 20 minutes, after that was said, the counter person begrudgingly accepted by food order. read more

I was on my way to OC for work and I needed to get gas and at the same time I was starving. The Corner Deli is in the store of a Mobil gas station. While I was filling my 25 gallon gas tank in my Yukon, I noticed lots of people going in and out of the convenient store in a span of 15 minutes. I saw a sign on the building naming hamburgers, tacos, burritos, salads etc. Since I was starving and I know my drive to OC would be at least an hour and I love Mexican food, I decided to go in, I am so glad I did it. I ordered the following: Mexican Burrito ($6.70): it had carne asada, rice, beans, onion, cilantro, cheese. It was so good!!! It was about 8" long, 3" wide and 3" thick. This place is pretty simple and straightforward; it's in a gas station but has a section to itself where you can order food and whatnot. This place gets super busy because there's a rush of office people from the nearby buildings coming here to pick up their lunch. I saw one guy order online and just come in and pick up his sandwich, that's probably the move or else if you get caught at a busy time you'll be waiting for a while. I got the spicy chicken club sandwich and asked for no cheese (I'm lactose intolerant) and no dressing (didn't wanna risk any dairy) and got my order pretty quickly considering I asked for some changes to the standard recipe. There's nothing special about the food but it's damn good. You're getting the basics, made well, and at a relatively low price. If you're looking for a cheap bite for lunch come here.
