Swung into the corner pub for a quick bite as I was craving some buffalo wings. This quaint little bar is everything you love about "a corner pub." The service is friendly as were the customers who stuck up conversion . I ordered wings and was surprised . For the record , I don't prefer breaded wings so when they came ( breaded) I gave a little sigh ... I was really impressed upon trying them how crispy and tasty they were. The bleu cheese was perfect and fresh as well. Very good meal highly recommended!!

This was definitely the go to bar spot while in Boston. Pam and her husband are the owners and they are THE BEST. It is a small chill place to hang and have drinks. Pam and her husband will take care of you and make sure you alright. I came across this bar on Yelp and they were like how the heck you found us! They not a big advertiser of their business. They keep it small and a family type feel vibe. They do sell food here too. I tried their house wings with a side of buffalo sauce...delicious! They also made a pizza which wasn't bad. But the wings were really fresh and good. The drinks are decently priced. I just enjoyed the atmosphere here and the vibe. I can't wait to return here when I am back in Boston. They do have a lottery drawing you can play there and such funny bar decors.

Came here on a Thursday night before Christmas Eve. Right as we got there, the worker had written on the door they are closing at eight when it just turned 6:30. Seating ourselves, we were informed the kitchen close at 7 o'clock so we were quick to decide on what to order. We shared the steak and cheese eggrolls as well as the mac & cheese with hot dog egg roll. We built our own burgers including the mushrooms, peppers and onions cooked to medium. Compared to other steak and cheese egg rolls I've had before, these were not anything spectacular being on the dry and over cooked side. Same goes for the Mac n cheese version in which my half barely had any hotdog because of how it was cut. However, these factors could have been due to them trying to close and wrap up for the night. The burger was great though, perfect for those drunk nights you want to get something fatty and comforting in your belly. Both the regular and sweet potatoes fries were crispy and soft filling. The brioche buns were always appreciated but a side pickle really would have made it even better. In the short time there, we were able to order their mixed drink which comprised of pineapple juice, vodka, and a few other ingredients making an easy drink to sip on while waiting for food. Would like to come back at an earlier time/different day as I can tell it has a great and comfortable vibe to hangout with friends and maybe get to know others.

Stopped in here for a quick drink while waiting to head back to New York on Saturday afternoon. They had some outdoor seating, along with inside seating. I opted to sit inside. There were a few tables occupied with one or 2 persons. I ordered a margarita, which was reallyyyy good. The bartender was really cool. She switch up the music and started playing Beyoncé and Rihanna. Talk about knowing how to read the crowd! This was a cool place to stop in for a drink. I'd definitely return with some friends next time!

This has become the "eat, pray, love" of dive bars. Sometime during quarantine (when I wasn't looking), they replaced all the legit dive bar deco with banal sayings on dollar-store plaques in pastel colors. Imagine throw cushions that say "it's wine o'clock somewhere" and pablum like that. (Okay, maybe not cushions, but your maiden uncle would think the place was cute.) That's not how to run a dive bar. There's a dive bar I know -- a legit one -- that has a shelf tucked in behind another shelf on the back of the bar which is full of random liquors, stuff that nobody drinks, like, maybe, bubblegum vodka or... and there's a handwritten sign on the shelf that says "$4 shots." It's been that way for years. It's known as the four-dollar shot shelf. (And yes, I have. And, no, NOT the bubblegome vodka, for godsakes.) This is what the Corner Pub used to be like but The Corner Pub has gone corporate. They've painted a big mockup of the Green Monster and have a formal fancy board that lists "brown bag shots" and "Mystery Beer." It's just not the same when it's scrubbed. It's like when mom sees that you're collecting beer can labels and decides to help out. Uh, mom.... Up the block there's another legit dive bar that has its wine list on a white board. It says: Red. White. That's it. No meta self-conscious aren't-we-cute stuff. While I was sipping my coors lite, I started to wonder if I'd imagined the earlier Corner Pub and so pulled out pictures. Nope. The Pub has changed, and not for the better. Oh, you can still get cheap(ish) drinks and stoned bartenders. You can still get corned beef egg rolls (and other weird wonders of the dive world), but not as many, and not as cheap. Okay, I know, Covid forced everyone to streamline. But why wreck the dive vibe?

I've been coming here for YEARS!!! I love the staff, the food, the drinks, the whole atmosphere. It's my all time favorite dive bar in Boston. Tip: after 6:30pm it gets a little less crowded and even more awesome. Say hi to Pam for me!! read more

We liked it. I've always been curious about this little bar. It used to look like a dive inside, but they've recently remodeled it, and it looks really nice inside. Bartender guy was funny and cool, and the beers were cheap. It's a really nice little bar to have a couple drinks. We didn't eat here, but word is the food is all right. I especially liked the semi-circle seating tables. You rarely see them and they're my favorite type of seating/booth at bars and restaurants. Anyhow - stop in for a Blue moon or two, or three!? read more

Such an awesome dive! Go get you some of them chicken wings and tator tots. Out of towners will probably feel weird here, this is a locals joint. If you wanna hear some legits Boston accents though, go ahead and check it out. The bar food is excellent when you're drunk and in this area. read more

I love this place. It is our go to place when we want to hang out casually for the evening. It in a small dive local bar. It is a definitely a star wars bar, there are people from all walks of life, but that is what makes this place interesting. I love the people watching. The beers are cheap $15 for a bucket of 5 Bud/Bud Lights. There is keno and regular board games to keep you and you friends entertained. The food is decent, appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, your standard bar food. It is worth exploring the mix and match egg rolls. read more

The food is amazing, the burgers are so juicy! I would give it 5 stars but they forgot the bacon on my burger 5 times in a row. I asked them to make sure to put it on after the second time, yet they still didn't put it on. A little aggravating, but I would still recommend the food! read more

We all know the Corner Pub formerly Weggie's Pub has gone through some changes in the last few years!! goodbye red pleather booths!! hello cleaner friendlier fun place to hang! i know everyone thinks it's lost its charm of being a dirty dive bar.... but if you are truly a regular you would know that its all the same people in a different setting. weggie's/corner pub faithfuls are still around! not only are it patrons the same.... but you will find a few of the bartenders are still there! as for the new.... FEMALE bartenders!? *gasp* a welcome changed to those who wanted something better to look at behind the bar! and you dont have to walk into chinatown anymore to get good food... Wing Dings are a MUST! ask for the spicy dipping sauce! homemade and so good!! read more

new ownership?! went here in march of 2013 for lunch and it was great, got the 'baddest burger' and a couple of drinks and had a great time...good food, good service etc Went there this past Friday and the second we walked in we were confronted with an odd homeless looking bartender who was extremely rude and was swearing/yelling the entire time. The menus were pieces of paper that have been sitting in water, and in reality we should of left then. We decided to get generic burgers and sliders, my friend ate half of 1 slider and threw up 30 min later. I wouldn't even be writing this review if the place a month ago was 100% different than what we experienced last time. Not sure what happened - I am guessing new ownership since the menus are completely different.....save your money and go somewhere else read more

My husband and I were so lost here in Boston (we are from CALI) . We asked a random pedestrian "where do we go for some good drinks?!?" He directed us to "The corner pub" and we had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The bartender PAM! She is so sweet and friendly. Customers were coming in and she knew what they were drinking she hugged everyone and made us feel at home! I am so happy to come here and thank you Pam for an amazing experience! MUAH! read more

I went for lunch and got the BLT. I got two strips of bacon in it. It's not a BLT if I get two strips of bacon. That's a club without the extra cold cut. Pretty disappointed and won't be going back. read more

Didn't actually get to drink here. My friends and I came on a Sunday night looking for dinner and drinks, but their kitchen was closed. It gets 5 stars in my book though, for an awesome staff. When we told them we were looking for food, they gave us a ton of nearby recommendations, and the regulars sitting at the bar were friendly and helpful. read more

What a great bar! Fun place with a cool, friendly vibe! Recently visited Boston from out of state and this place is the quintessential neighborhood dive bar. Pam, the owner, works the bar and creates a fun place to chill. Obvious regulars walked in and she knew their name and drink. She was juggling many orders at once quickly and seemingly stress-free creating a relaxed, fun place to hang out. Pam and the regulars were friendly,happy to share and chat. Great steak and cheese egg rolls, sweet potato fries, and lots of folks order buckets of beer. We tried some of the local beers and there was a good selection. Enjoy! read more

The corner pub is definitely different from the original Weggies Pub. It's almost like going from hell to heaven. There's definitely a bathroom now, unlike Weggies Pub, practically pissing into a hole on the floor. The renovation looks fantastic. Although they need another flatscreen TV near the jukebox wall for better viewing of the sport games rather than the tiny obsolete TV in the corner. It's almost like watching a 2.5 handheld tv from the other end of the bar. Overall, great atmosphere, great owners, and great service. Two thumbs up! read more

We all know things have changed at the Corner Pub but what you really need to understand is that these new owners are constanly making changes in the menu so you need to keep going back! The food is improving all the time. We found it a great place to go for a quick bite and friendly staff after the theater. Would highly recommend it. read more

i've been here a few times with my alcoholic co-workers, can't blame them after working a long day with the devil. the drinks are delish especially the scorpion bowls. they'll give you free popcorn if you ask for it, drinking on am empty stomach is a nono. the bartenders are funny and will chat up a storm with you. it's pretty busy on week nights, sat-late afternoons are pretty slow. you'll find a few business folks, a bum or two, and a bunch of regulars. they also have food, but i have yet to try read more

The restaurant was very crowded and loud (Sunday night), but we were seated fairly quickly. However, service was underwhelming; our waitress wasn't particularly engaging or helpful with recommendations. We ordered the clam chowder and a cold lobster roll, along with lobster mac & cheese for my child and a rice and stir-fried vegetable dish for myself. The clam chowder was decent, but quickly forgettable. The lobster roll was fine, but nowhere near the reputation it carries. The mac & cheese was similarly underwhelming from the first bite. The veggie stir-fry dish was inedible. I returned it after the first bite. Unless you enjoy food straight out of a mall food court in 1985--stuck in time, and not in a good way. They should be ashamed to offer this as the ONLY vegetarian option: too sweet, too sticky, and completely underwhelming. The manager did acknowledge that this dish is not well received in general. So why is it still on the menu? Overall, the experience didn't live up to the reputation or the reviews we had seen. If you're in Boston for that classic seafood experience, I'd honestly look elsewhere.

I started with the grapefruit cocktail, followed by the hamachi crudo and the lobster roll. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The hamachi crudo was especially impressive, and the lobster roll was everything you'd hope for when dining in Boston. It took two and a half hours. We watched two tables change next to us. Wrong food brought out, cocktail orders not taken took 3 tries and 45 minutes. Water never refilled and on an on Service was so bad I feel I was being profiled for wearing a world cup jersey. The food is pointless in the experience at this point.

Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much....

We walked in without reservations and they were fully booked for the night, but they do have bar seating and a couple of side tables where you can grab a quick bite from the full menu. The ambiance is a 10/10. The decor is insane in the best way. The red chandeliers are stunning, the bar setup is perfection, and the low lighting with the table centerpieces really ties everything together. Even the bathrooms were insanely beautiful which is crazy to say but it stood out. It's rare to find restrooms that are that clean and well-designed. The drinks were great. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got, but it had red sugar on the rim and it perfectly matched the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. For food, I got the steak taco and the fish taco and both were delicious. We were just stopping by for a quick bite before heading to the movies , but I really wish we could have stayed for a full meal because everything was amazing. I was worried that this spot might be an overly hyped Instagram spot, but that turned out not to be the case at all. Despite how busy it was, service was attentive, with our servers taking our orders, serving our food, and refilling our waters promptly. The food itself was also delicious and a reasonable price with large portion sizes. I would definitely come back for brunch again or to try their dinner!

Used to live in Boston. Passed through here while waiting for a train at south station. About 8pm on a Friday. The bar was busy, not the tables. Never been here before. Loved the staff- very welcoming and helpful. Funny too! Sadly, some of the worst food I've had in Boston. I understand the concept of this place, (it's meant to be a classic neighborhood dive bar) but seeing the bartender rinse off dirty glasses in the sink and use them on other customers... Pretty gross. I've worked many years in the food industry. This is an example of poor management! I had a burger. It was grisly. The lettuce was thawing and the tomato mush. Normally when something is wrong with my order I speak up but I'm pretty certain there was nothing they could've done about those accompaniments. The meal of course had nothing to do with the service, whom I tipped the normal 20%. It just wasn't good food... At all. Come here to chat with the bartender/ regulars, get a beer, but don't order food! Cheers read more

The Corner Pub is the renovated Weggie's on Lincoln Street. I went to the Open House last night along with the place seems new and glossy. There's now a kitchen as well as the toilets are A LOT better then before. Deb and I are super depressed that Naked Lady Photo Hunt was replaced with a golf match but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll return shortly. One pleasant thing I have to say about Weggie's, um I mean, The Corner Pub, is how much the owner's value their customers. Last night there was plenty of free food and free Buds and wine. A man dressed as a DRAGON came in to observe around 7pm. They consistently throw an incredible Christmas celebration with lots of complimentary food and in addition, they have sweet around Halloween. This is hands down my favorite dive bar. I really like this pub and this pub adores me back! read more

Great and friendly staff. A nice dark bar with a cool common room. Very deep pub fare with a special surprise of buffalo chicken on the nachos! Guinness on draft plus some special local brews and seasonal Sam Adams. A great semi-hidden gem. Take a break from the Freedom Trail and sneak in for a pint. read more

The corner pub has been our go to place for afterwork hours drinks. Its got the basics of a pub and drinks are priced reasonably. Parking is tough if you are driving but taking the MBTA train to get there is probably the best bet. Variety of beers on tap and bottled. read more
