We try different restaurants every year on Diwali to celebrate the occasion with my Mom. Decided to check out The Cotillion in Jericho and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the food delectable and the portions worthy of heavy Long Island eaters. We left with plenty of left overs to nosh on, well into the next day or two. Our winners were the Manchurian cauliflower, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, mixed grill platter and the lamb chops. Honestly everything was delicious, freshly prepared and really well seasoned. We did get a seafood soup that was a touch too salty, and a Kulfi dessert that was a little on the super sweet side. We have definitely had better naan's, that is probably the only item I would refrain from ordering here or at least ordering only the garlic naan as that was pretty good. They were also generous enough to comp the soup that was not to my mother's taste and offered us comps on all desserts which was so nice of them to do. Overall a definite 5/5 and we might just comeback here for all our Diwali meals henceforth. The restaurant area is very small, however there is outside seating during warmer months. This place is primarily a catering hall, so the focus/space is clearly on that aspect of the business. read more

Went to a party at the Cotillion off Old Jericho Turnpike. The food was of a variety of Indian specialties and it was catered with some staff bringing hors d" oeuvres and a bar tender serving drinks. I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't give me a full glass of ice for my water. Their speaker mic cracked loudly until adjusted. Host must bring their own decorations and set up. Tables and chairs had slipcovers and cloth napkins. They have no place to hang coats. They have their own parking lot. Bathroom is on side of party room. This party had clown couple that I'm not sure how hired. ( see pix) all in all the party was fun for a 1 year old Kaur princess. Everyone had a good time. read more

First and foremost, Place is not as depicted in the pictures. Menu was too long and confusing. We took lot of time to identify the dishes. Veg and Non veg Appetizers were not fresh, it was felt as served from frozen. Entree's were better but still dint felt fresh. Of all the items we ordered Chicken biryani, Dal tadka were decent. Salt lassi was very salty, couldn't even drink ( after complaint they changed it to more diluted). Most of the dishes were lacking authentic Indian food tastes. Person attending us was nice and very courteous. We were treated with free deserts and discounts. Place is little pricey for the quality of the food. Overall felt the place is overrated. read more

What a rip off. Just left there for a wedding. Absolutely the worst service possible. They kept turning off the AC all night. They started the open bar 30 minutes late, the appetizers was placed outside where nobody knew about it unless you were going to your car, they the pulled it and said dinner is coming. Dinner was t ready for another 75 minutes. Event was booked form 6pm to midnight. Last call was scheduled for 11:30pm. They closed the open bar at 11 and said pretty much time to go. They owner and manager( the turban wearing Ahole) was extremely rude. Please do not go there or support this place. Absolute a disaster for what was supposed to be a special night. read more

I have nothing but praise for the Cotillion! Normally if I'm eating Indian cuisine, it's some where in Queens. My experiences with Indian cuisine here on Long Island have been pretty poor. The food tends to be over priced, small quantities and lack of spice. Today I ordered the lunch special from the Cotillion and was very impressed. The portion size was large, had the perfect amount of spices and the food just tasted incredibly fresh! The fact that they include a small dessert just seals the deal! Food was bad, service even worse. My order was for $29, and when I gave the delivery person two twenties, he started walking away, so I asked for change. He said he had no cash. I asked if he had ANY change, he shrugged and replied, No. How do you not carry any cash when making a cash delivery? Now for the food. I ordered pad thai, fried rice and thai iced tea--super basic, staple Thai dishes. Everything was bland and not authentic. Planned two ceremonies one at Leonards on Northern Blvd and the other here at the Cotillion. Everything was shut due to Pandemic. had to cancel the parties Leonards was very friendly and understanding. Event/ Ceremony being for a certain date could not be held at a later date. Leonards refunded the upfront down payment. Cotillion owners did not. owners are Arrogant and stubborn.. stated that to do whatever as they will not refund. Not willing or ready to understand or accommodate. please be careful booking events at this place. Even things like covid beyond ones control causing cancellations will not get back your money. The Cotillion restaurant is a small and attractive space attached to a much larger catering hall.It has a large parking lot.On Tuesday, 11/22, I hosted a dinner for ten here.Upon arrival I made small talk with Mr.Manager and he made me a terrific Vodka Martini. Our group assembled and we were seated in the empty restaurant.The restaurant features a menu which reads longer than your average novel, containing not only Indian dishes, but Indian/Chinese and Thai food as well. We ordered and,after an extensive delay of nearly an hour, some appetizers arrived.The Vegetable Samosas and Spring Rolls were well received.I passed on apps and ordered two entrees instead to accompany my crisp and refreshing Taj Mahal beer.I asked Mr.Manager for his suggestions. He recommended The Cotillion Special Biryani which I chose, along with Hakka Chili Chicken to get out of my usual Chicken Tikka Masala comfort zone. The Cotillion Special was a winner, arriving as a massive mound of tasty rice with shrimp, lamb and chicken.The rice was moist and nicely cooked.I would certainly order this dish again.However, the Hakka Chili Chicken was tough and hard to eat.I took most of it home to try the next day to give it another chance to please me but I could not eat it. My fellow diners liked some of the entrees.They mentioned the Chicken Saga, the Basil Ginger Chicken and the Mango Chicken.I tasted someone else's Chicken Tikka Masala and it was meh. The biggest problem with our evening was the extreme wait for our food.We were the only people in the restaurant and the single chef that was working could not get the dishes out on a timely basis.We were not able to leave the restaurant until 9:45 p.m, not good on a work night when many diners had long drives home. We did our son's 21st birthday at this place on 7/22/22 and could not be happier with how everything went. The manager MR Gagan was the best to work with - he was easygoing and professional from the time of booking the hall to the end of the event. He made us and our guest feel very welcome. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy to work with. Everything was PERFECT! The staff was sooo friendly and accommodating from the beginning to end! The food was absolutely amazing!! My son and all our guest had a wonderful time. My son had even asked for an extended hour from the closing time because everyone including him was having a great time and MR Gagan was kind enough to allow it. I must say thank you for making my son's 21st birthday a memorable event that he will always cherish. I Highly recommend booking and having your events with them!!! read more

Excellent food ! Though it's set up as a catering hall, they do good take out. The inside of the place is much like the outside, it needs a makeover to bring it from 1990 into 2017. The food however is excellent. This place is weird. I grew up 3 minutes away and hadn't even thought about stopping in until this week. Is it a catering hall? Wtf is indo-chinese? Is it a hotel bar? I needed answers. Brought the rents here for dinner....Mistake. As a catering hall, this place looks cool. The restaurant is a small offshoot to the left of the main room. Inside the decor is fine. No complaints. Our waiter came by and that's when things got weird. This dude knew maybe 3 words of english. I'm all for new blood and I get you have to train new staff, but this was just awkward. Pointing at the menu and then having him read the menu sucks. The whole meal was a service fail: the app came out with the entree, no one asked about spice levels and my mom couldn't eat her food (amateur move mama!), wine refill instead of a water refill.... Awkward all around. The best part? The food! My chicken curry was solid. Tender chicken and good spice level. My fam's chicken w/ broccoli and pad thai were tasty as well. The only fail was the vegetable manchurian dumplings, which came out like fried veggie meatballs. Catered from here 2 months ago. They "forgot" to deliver the most expensive dish (as well as one of the dessert items). Understanding it is covid and everyone is going through tough times and dealing with last minute changes, we understood. Even though we were disappointed, we were grateful we had enough dishes for our guests. Spoke to various people at the establishment about refunding us. 2 months have gone by... nothing. Every communication we have with them is that it is being handled and they will take care of it... which at this point means nothing is being done. Have no more sympathy and cannot give the benefit of the doubt. Now I feel scammed and regret giving them our business especially for a special day as a wedding ceremony. This establishment needs to work communication, logistics and improve their customer service. read more

Went here for a Pakistani wedding banquet. There are several party rooms. We sat in the upstairs room, on the right side. The Indian food was very good. The mango lassi was delicious. The bridal suite is downstairs, right next to the stairs. It could do with a bit of updating. It's L shaped and narrow. The bathroom could also do with a bit of updating as it looked very old. There were wedding crashers who very very rude and just walked in and took selfies right near the dance floor, and with the DJ. Management should really help discourage these people. read more

Have been here several times for various functions, including a small wedding and several birthday parties. The place seems to have been here for quite some time as the exterior and interior look pretty dated and worn. The place can definitely stand some sprucing up but I suspect the owners aren't too keen on that idea. I don't think it had been remodeled or freshened up since I first dined here a decade ago. The food is okay but I won't rave about it. Last Saturday's meal was probably the one I most enjoyed our of all my experiences here. At least the hosts paid for a good selection of food so there was a lot to try. I've only been here for buffets so can't comment on table service. There was adequate coverage at the buffet stations and the bus boys did a decent job. There are far superior Indian restaurants on the Island (and Queens) but this place is convenient and apparently reasonably priced. Large parking lot is a plus...if not absolutely necessary given the restaurant's location. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for a meal but wouldn't run if someone invited me to come here for another function/gathering. read more

Long story short, this place never disappoints. We found it by accident. We lost our house key and met the landlord to get a copy. She lived a little out of our way and it was pretty late at night. We were looking for something to eat and googled "Indian food". Being in the area, this place popped up. We have been going ever since then... for about 2 years or so. Highlights are the chicken 65, mulligatawny soup, poori bread and garlic naan. Highlighted entrees are chicken Tikka, lamb chops , schezwan chicken and mix grill. My kids love the tandoori chicken. I love the way they make sure they bring it to the table SIZZLING! The green chutney and tamarind sauce are incredible and bursting with flavor! Beyond the food being delicious, the customer service feels very personal. These guys treat us like family as soon as we walk in and work as a team to keep us happy. David makes the best "kid friendly" drinks. Very colorful and very tasty. For our kids bdays, they always find a way of making them feel special. I love this place. Shandi, David and the rest of the staff make us feel at home and fill our bellies every trip. 5 stars all the way. Ok so the reality is that visually it isn't the most inviting looking place.... if I had not been invited I probably would not have gone. It's in an eerie parking lot that's connected to a funky motel. (Definitely NOT a place you take a first date that your trying to impress!!!) But if you are looking for amazingly yummy Indian food then this place is a must. We ordered 3 different appetizers: meat samosa (my favorite), chicken65 (yummy n good flavor), & shrimp Pandora (good but just yummy breaded n fried shrimp.) For our main courses my absolute favorite was the chicken tikka masala, it had a little kick but the flavor was outstanding. My second favorite was the lamb vindaloo, the flavor was yummy but not as spicy as I expected, also the meat was a little chewy(I think the chicken would have been better.) Review for delivery. Delivery was over an hour late with no explanation (even when I called the restaurant) and they provided me with no utensils, not even a single napkin! I was in Long Island for work and after a long day, I just wanted some good Indian food and to veg out. Ended up having to get re-dressed (I'm weird about being out in my PJ's) to go to the front desk for utensils.... whatever, stuff happens.. I get that. BUT! All of my food was so unbearably salty I could hardly eat it! I got two different dishes so I could take leftovers to the airport with me the next day but sadly, I threw almost all of it away. I asked for spicy and none of it was spicy as well (I'm not talking like "oh hey, I'm tough and like things really hot!" - I'm talking like a toddler could palate this stuff). This review is for the Indian restaurant attached to the catering hall. This has been a staple spot for all of our family gatherings with uncles aunts and cousins. Their servers are all very nice and the food it so yummy. All you need is the eggplant masala (spicy) as the starter and chicken tikka masala with onion and garlic naan and rice. Mmm this food is like drugs, once you start you can't stop until all that creamy sauce has been swooped up by the naan and rice. Was our first visit to this Hakka Indian Chinese fusion restaurant. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. They brought out a free Indian crisp with two dips. We started with the lollipop chicken and then had coriander garlic chicken and chilli chicken. All were delicious and measure up to the other Chinese Indian fusion restaurant we've tried. read more

Very delicious Indian cuisine. The flavors were on point. We had the chicken tika massala and the lamb vindaloo, along with fried lamb strips, and everything was great. PerFect amount of spices, and not too much food . The appetizers we ordered were also impeccable. The samosa with meat was to die for , along with a shrimp appetizer and chicken appetizer that i don't even know the name of, were all awesome. Ate at their restaurant/bar this past weekend. First let me say, don't be deceived by the restaurant/bar/catering hall being attached to the neighboring motel. I questioned it many times, but after entering Cotillion you will be pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is pretty quiet, but some noise can spill over from the catering hall. It's not a large restaurant/bar area but you could come in with a group of 10-12 and be seated together. The kitchen for the restaurant is shared with the space and you can easily see into the kitchen as the chef prepares your meals. The service was o.k., and is why I didn't give this 5 Stars. It wasn't prompt at first, but after our initial drink order things picked up. I felt like we were sitting there for a while before anyone realized we were still waiting. Maybe it was just confusion on who was handling the table. The waiter/host/manager all checked up on us through the meal. The menu has many options as the restaurants theme is Indian/Thai/Chinese so you can order yourself a mix of everything. Now onto the food. It was delicious. For our appetizer we had the Chicken Lollipop which is a wok fried chicken wing with chili and garlic sauce with an abundance of onion/sauce mixture left over. It had a little kick to it but wasn't overly spicy and had excellent flavors. For dinner I ordered the Thai Lamb Red Curry. To put it simply, it was one of the BEST Thai dishes I have ever had. EVER. My girlfriend tasted it and agreed. The serving size was perfect, and I was happy to bring home ample leftovers. My girlfriend ordered the Szechwan chicken. She liked it but it didn't rank among her favorites. I also had a Paratha stuffed with potatoes. Prices were excellent and the manager accepted a Restaurant.com gift certificate from us. There was a concern at first as it was a Saturday evening, but they were happy to let us use it. Overall a nice experience and I will be happy to eat there again or order take-out. read more

It is better in all aspects than the chilli and curry restaurant which has high rating here. Ambiance: 4 starts - cozy little place with candle on each table. Small bar area on side. Food: 6 stars out of 5 - Yummy indian; indo-chinese. No complaints. Price: 5 stars - very affortable large portions. Service: 5 stars - friendly and polite.
