Breakfast was just ok. I had the Benedict, biscuits were OK, gravy was hot and delish, however the rest of my food was lukewarm and the hash browns were not edible. Ordered a carryout for the first time due to a family recommendation. We ordered chicken strip pitas, a pot roast sandwich, and the sides we chose were fries and stuffing, one with chicken gravy, one with beef gravy. The chicken strips were hand battered, unusual in this day and age. I'd get them & the pita again. The stuffing was so good! If I don't feel like making it myself, I'm coming here! I preferred the chicken gravy, another in our party preferred the beef. The pot roast sandwich was large, and everything was tasty however, it was sliced pot roast & we prefer a thick chunk of meat. The ambience is quaint with log walls. The servings are generous and well presented. The staff is very friendly and attentive. My wife and I each had an omelet that was served hot and tasted fresh. Went after taking a drive for my birthday. Had a bacon cheeseburger and wife had a chicken pita. First the lunch started with a salad for me and soup for wife. Soup was chicken noodle and was okay. Salad was tossed and mostly had spring mix. Weird but not bad. Now for the other stuff. Wife's chicken pita was okay. The chicken was overcooked and the stuff inside was ok. My bacon cheeseburger was thin hardly a quarter pound with 2 thin pieces of bacon. Tasted like cardboard. And it was $11.99 overpriced and terrible. Costs us $30.00 with tip and I had a screaming kid behind me the whole time. Won't be back. read more

A great family style restaurant like Bob Evans only better! Food was wonderful almost as good as mom used to make and the portions were large but not excessive. The Denver omelette was loaded with all the right ingredients and I loved the crispy hash browns. Our hostess treated us like grandma would making sure we had enough making suggestions and treating us like we were the most important people there. my husband brought me home a salad from there and it was horribl!! It was supposed to have grilled chicken. Not enough chicken to feed toddler and very salty. My boyfriend and I went to the Country Inn of New Baltimore during the middle of the afternoon. Not busy by any means. The place was dirty and outdated. Seats were ripped. Floor had crayons and straw wrappers everywhere. I ordered the Traverse City Pretzel Sandwich with well done fries. The sandwich includes: chicken salad, dried cherries, walnuts, lettuce and tomato. I asked for no tomato. When my order came it was just chicken salad on a stale pretzel bun. No cherries, no walnuts. The fries weren't done enough for my liking. Waitress wasn't around to get refills and change my meal. Terrible service. I used to love Country Inn as a kid. The restaurant has definitely taken a turn for the worse. I won't be back. read more

This is a small American restaurant that offers a basic menu. It really could use some updates and a good scrubbing as it's not very clean in here and the prices area little steep for a dirty diner. They have a delicious chicken finger and potato skins and their coffee is awesome. However their dinner salad left me wondering if they had something against salad toppings, it's plain....very plain and SMall. The wait staff is hot or miss with their ability to smile most days they are not very bubbly. I only keep returning because it's close to work and I keep hoping they will improve the value of their specials menu. read more

I have eaten here many times over the past few years and have arrived at a final verdict. ONLY eat here for breakfast M-F and ONLY when the restaurant is relatively crowded. That's it. No more...and disregard any lunch or dinner coupons. Lunch and dinner are marginal at best, usually bad, sometimes embarrasingly bad. I can relate to a previous review indicating moldy foods and stale breads being served. I don't think they can keep an afternoon cook. The staff are numb "just-trying-to-make-a-living" types. We decided to have breakfast out today. We went to Country Inn. The place looked closed, there were no customers when we got there. I found out the reason when I got the bill. No morning (8:00-11:00 am) discount. No senior discount either because it was a holiday. It's a School and Bank holiday. So my girlfriend and myself used to go here for quite a while, everything we ordered seem decent. My girlfriends brother warned us about going there because he did some construction on the place. He said its filthy and he would never go there. We did not heed his warning, the last time we went, I found two hairs in my meal. I told the waitress who just told me sorry and then walked away. I've been to this restaurant, maybe 5 or 6times, and from what I've experienced it is an amazing place. The very log-cabin feel with the taxidermy deer makes it feel more like a home. The food I've ordered was amazing, it was the cabin burger, and anyone who likes burger would love it. I haven't had they're breakfast but I would be surprised if its just as amazing. If you are looking for a great date night place to grab some artesian cuisine in a modern, well appointed place with only the richest leather and tables made of nothing but the highest quality cocobolo and mahogany available, please go elsewhere. If you are aiming for a quick meal at a reasonable price in an environment that welcomes kids, this is the place to go. Every time we go there the service is great and the food is good for the price. Drinks are always refilled, food is always hot and fresh, and the fries are honestly my favorite of any restaurant outside of chick-fil-a. Oh, and if you are like me and cannot stand breakfast food no matter where you go or what time of the morning it is, they will have no problem making most of the items on their menu at any time of the day. Was very unimpressed with this place. Yes, portions are huge but that's about all they have going for them. Service was okay, I never got my water refilled the whole time we were there. That is number one in my books over any other thing a server can be good at. Hash browns were over cooked - dead, dry, disgusting. I do not suggest them. They weren't even busy but the parking lot was packed which seemed weird to me. Veggies in the eggs were raw. Either cut them smaller so they soften in the eggs or cook them before mixing with the eggs. All I could taste were raw onions. The manager, Julie, is totally unprofessional! She accused me of swearing at her 17 yr. old employee! On another occasion telling my husband, he never placed an order! A professional would never accuse of customer of lying and just corrected the order. The workers forget part of the order and I have to come back and they offer no compensation. When I asked for compensation (after being accused of lying) she thought I was unfair. But really what upset me was her telling me to my face that I lied not the employee! This is twice now she has accused us of false claims by the employees. Her employees have messed up orders and then have the nerve to lie and accuse customers of not placing the order and saying things they did not say. read more

The food portions are huge but that's really the only reason I gave this place one star. We came here around 7 am with one other table in the restaurant. I had to get up and ask for coffee and water refills. I had to flag down a server to place our order, and then waited forever for our food. The server was not friendly, and since we were sitting close to the kitchen, my husband overheard the other server tell the cook "she hates people like that" then the cook looked back at my husband. After eating, I again had to flag down our server to get our bill. The only time she independently came to the table was to give us our food -- everything else I had to get up and get her. It shouldn't ever be this way, especially on a slow Sunday morning!! Never again read more
