Ordered loaded oats, fancy skillet with scrambled eggs, cubed potatoes and sour dough toast, turkey Rueben and Santorini salad with feta on the side. $61.48 Wait staff help each other out, making sure coffee mugs are topped and plates are taken away after finishing, since we have limited space on our table with so many plates. The turkey Rueben is okay, bread is soggy and I t definitely needed some thousand island dressing, it was too dry. The oats were good. The big Santorini salad is half of an entree salad to me and just a bit more than a side salad. Not sure it's $13 worth salad at all, looked rather sad lot. Maybe $7-$8 at most. The mixed greens are a bit old. Some nasty bits. I do prefer my onions more uniformly and thinly cut or diced for consumption. I had to discard several of the old wilted greens. The aesthetic is beautiful, the inside and outside are neat and tidy and modern, even the food presentation is nice. Unfortunately the food is lackluster. The frittata was covered in a layer of greasy cheese, the artichoke and pepper filling tastes like they were from cans, and the breakfast potatoes were bland and had no seasoning or flavor. The chicken and waffles was also the same. The chicken looked like tenders from Coney Island, the waffles were dry and flavorless and the bacon tasted overly artificial with a synthetic smoke flavor. This is a beautiful restaurant located south of 21 mile road on van dyke. We were the only ones there on an early Thursday morning for breakfast. The waitress recommended the Loraine, which is a fancy eggs Benedict that is served on a challah bread with spinach and prosciutto and an amazing hollandaise. It was really delicious. The reason for the 4 stars was because of my breakfast date. The tiny taste buds of my daughter told her that the pancake was just ok. The food was okay - we usually have breakfast so a little bit of a switch. They were busy but the customer service with our waitress was different. I ordered a hot tea with lemon and honey. Normally, I have two packets of honey per cup (there was tea for two cups) When she brought one packet I asked for 2-3 more. I got one more. Then I asked again for another two to put in my second cup of tea. Rita charged me extra for them!!! I could not believe they would charge for this as they never had previously.
