While it wasn't NOT painful, it wasn't remotely as bad as I expected. Anna was super nice, informative and patient with me as I told her I was nervous. The place gave accepting and chill vibes. I was greeted by my waxer Amanda within seconds of walking in the door. She took me to my room in a wonderfully decorated space, the bed was SO comfy! Amanda brought professionalism to every moment without losing her sense of humor and made the entire experience genuinely fun! She was impeccable; asked every question that a waxer should before ever touching my skin, and knowledgeable about how to handle each of my personal variables. I'm a bit nerdy and she fully indulged my interest in all the products they used; which blew me away with the quality! Absolutely peak quality wax and oils, on a level I have never seen in another waxing location, for even the MOST sensitive skin! Which is super important for me because I have EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and my skin is extremely sensitive and abnormally easily torn on a molecular level so when I say that I walked away with HAPPY, not irritated, skin after a full Brazilian wax, please know how remarkable this is! I have walked out of waxing appointments at other businesses bleeding on many occasions. Not only was Amanda exceptional in her knowledge and manner, she was thorough! I have lighter hair and generally have to point out missed patches to get a clean finish but when I checked everything -- NO NOTES! Then to top it all off she had an aftercare kit for me when I was checking out! And if all of that doesn't tell you how wonderful and wildly above standard quality this was, I was in and out in 22 minutes flat.

I am used to my appointments being 15-20 minutes long because they pride themselves on quick service. My boyfriend and I share a car and we had to go pick up his kids from school before my appointment and then I told them to just wait in the car because my appointment would only be 15 minutes. Easy peasy. Kids wouldn't get antsy or fight and we'd be home by 4:30 (my appointment was at 4). The morning of my appointment I got a call that my waxer was out for the day so I would be with someone else. Which is totally fine with me! Until it wasn't. I got to my appointment right on time, then was told I had to wait a few minutes. Which is fine because I usually have to wait about 3-5 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and my waxer finally came out to take me to the back. I've never seen her before at this location so I assumed she was newer, but I know they train well so I wasn't worried. Finally she starts my wax and it's all going well and she's chatting with me and making me feel comfortable, she is pulling my skin taught so it doesn't hurt and it's going really well! Then she kept going over the same spot, over and over again. Which I know is because she wanted to get all the hairs out, but I felt it getting later and later and I knew my boyfriend and his kids were waiting in the car and I just knew that they were getting antsy. Anyways, she did a great job, but I checked my phone at the end and it was 4:50!!! 4:50?! 40 minutes to do a Brazilian. I'm fine with having a new person, but I would've love to know she was going to take that long for my appointment! That was ridiculous!! And no one even seemed to apologize about it. When I finally was at checkout, I didn't even want to schedule again because 1. I didn't know if I'd want to come back to this location, even though it's the closest to my house and 2. I was now in a rush because my appointment was 35 minutes over what I thought it would be. We had someplace to be and now we were really late for it. I'm really disappointed in my service this past experience. Warn your customers if it's a newer waxer and if they take longer so they can plan better. You are in customer service after all! I won't be back at this location. Be better Mill Plain EWC.

I had almost given up on finding a good stylist in Vancouver after a lot of bad experiences but…read morethen I met Cydney at Salon Grace. She is listed as a Level I Stylist on the website but I had a good feeling about her. She immediately understood what I was trying to accomplish with my hair. I have curly/wavy hair and I like to wear it curly or blown out sometimes and it has been hard to find someone here who could create the style I wanted. I've even gone as far as to get my haircut on long layovers with my previous stylist in AZ! Cydney totally exceeded my expectations. She had the most gentle energy about her and knew what I was trying to say immediately. I finally feel like myself again! I am so grateful that I finally found someone who "gets it". The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because some of the other stylists were talking some smack about other customers which always makes me wonder what they could be saying about me when I am not there but Cydney didn't participate in it and that earned her even more respect in my eyes. My daughter got gel with French tips. However after only a few days they began to come off. I called and they said they had a 7 day guarantee and that we could come back and fix it for free. They were very friendly about it and did not make us feel uncomfortable. I really appreciated it. Apple, was my daughter's nail technician and she was so kind and professional. We ended up just getting regular gel nail polish. The front desk girls have great customer service. But some of the other workers there are very intimidating and just stare at you. Every customer should be greeted and welcomed in, after all we did pick your establishment to spend our money. Overall, the experience was good. They have so many nail color options and styles, you will find something you love. We will be back to try them out again!
