I recently visited County Line in South Texas, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying dining experiences I've had in a long time. The barbecue was excellent--I ordered the brisket sandwich, and it was packed with flavor. This was one of those rare meals where I walked away with zero complaints about the food, the staff, or the environment. Everything just worked. The portion sizes are massive. One regular side of mac and cheese was enough to feed my brother, his wife, and their three kids--we were genuinely stunned. The ribs were enormous, like straight-up dino ribs, and full of flavor without being overwhelming. Every bite was rich and well-seasoned, but it didn't leave you feeling heavy or bloated--just craving more. I tried a mocktail that was basically a spicy virgin mojito: lemonade, cucumber, mint, and jalapeño. It tasted great, but fair warning--the jalapeño flavor is very raw and lingers for a long time. I love spicy food, but it did leave my tongue feeling a bit unpleasant afterward. I'd recommend getting it without the spicy element unless you're really into that kind of heat. That said, they offer beers, wines, and cocktails, and everything looked well put together. The atmosphere is beautiful--green, relaxed, and inviting. It looks like they even have a stage for live music. Parking is plentiful, and I'd recommend parking in the back for the easiest entry. Now, here's something unexpected but genuinely cool: the restroom. It was surprisingly clean and honestly worth checking out. It feels like a piece of history--almost like a restored relic from the late 1800s or early 1900s, as if they lifted it straight from an old county courthouse downtown. To top it off, they have a custom County Line trivia radio playing in the restroom, quizzing you while you take care of business. It was funny, creative, and totally memorable. The service went above and beyond. We were celebrating my brother's birthday, and the staff stored a full Chantilly cake for us, kept it cold, found candles, and even tracked down a lighter so we could celebrate properly. That kind of attention and care really stood out. I'm absolutely bringing friends here again, and I can already tell I'll be a loyal customer. Highly recommend County Line if you're looking for great barbecue, generous portions, and an all-around solid experience!

Don't sleep on this place. The staff has always been amazing. Fast and quick for pickups. The food has been consistently good. Awesome country feel inside. Definitely keep showing them love. The food is better than most.

Delicious bbq! The brisket was the most tender I have ever had! The beef ribs were gigantic, moist, tender and delicious! The burger was scrumptious. The beans were perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw was plain. The bread was good, but the honey spread was awful. Could hardly taste honey. More like an oil spread. Our waitress was great. Very attentive and gave great advice. The decor was country, cute, with lots of interesting sign and knock knacks to look at.

The queso fries are great! Could be shared between several individuals or eaten as a meal. The brisket was a little dry. Chicken fried steak was HUGE and had a good gravy on it.

The food was good and very reasonable. We ordered the combination plate that had 5 or 6 kinds of meat and two sides. Our server was a funny guy, he helped us with the menu and also with directions since this was our first time visiting the area. The ambience was fun and exciting, so many things going around at the riverwalk, there's music playing, people traveling around with in boats, very entertaining. Wish we had more time to explore

Two meat serving: Links and brisket. Two sides: Baked beans and potato salad.

We finally went to this place we always see off the IH10 freeway. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. They sat us down right away and everyone was really nice and helpful since it was our first time there. The menu was simple and easy to understand. Our server was always on top of things, making sure we had drinks and refills. The food came out hot and pretty quick. You definitely get a lot of food for your money, we all had leftovers. We didn't have any complaints at all, we'll definitely be going back. Great job!

Hadn't been here in a couple years but last night was so goood. I don't remember the food being as good as it was last night and was soooo delicious. Of course the decor is always fun and you go home smelling like bbq. Great portions.

Three meat combo with beans and potato salad, loaded brisket baked potato, and their homemade fresh and hot bread.

We went there for dinner after reading reviews and comparing other places in the area. I'm so glad we decided to go. The food was great and very plentiful. We still have enough for dinner tomorrow. It was pretty slow on a Monday night, but everyone went above and beyond to insure we had a great evening. As for the "loud kitchen" comments. The cooks were singing along with music and having a great time at their job. There's to much sullenness in the workplace these days. It was refreshing to hear them have fun. It was never loud enough to interfere with our conversation, and in fact a lot of times we had to strain to hear it. It's nice to go to a place that provides a positive work environment. If you want a quiet somber dinner, maybe don't go to a bbq restaurant?

Sample photo of the poor quality of Romaine used in the salad

My Server was friendly and very nice! The food however was disappointing!! I ordered the grilled salmon ceaser salad this evening to go. The salad had wilted leaves (see a sample photo). The salmon was overcooked and on the dry side. The side of bread was also not fresh and was very dry. My order was a take-out and I didn't realize the poor quality until I opened it for dinner, otherwise I would have returned it! For $17.99 plus tax and tip, the quality was poor. Next time, for the same price or slightly less, I would rather go next door to the Sea Island Shrimp House.

This is the brisket I was served.

Cute place, but the food was not good. Maybe the worst "brisket" I've ever had in my life. Completely inedible. I asked the waitress why it didn't look like brisket and she said it is the second cut and more juicy. (Insert eye roll.) I will not be back.

    A perfect meal

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

The hostess was welcoming and friendly and our server was excellent. We were seated in the other building near the windows. The menu wasn't huge, but just right with a few lunch and brunch items. After debating for a while of what to order, I decided on the Texas Gulf Shrimp plate. Agua Fresca of the day per our server was strawberry pineapple. Our server was able to water mine down slightly- since it was very sweet, but love knowing that it was freshly made. Complimentary chips and salsa always a plus, and we were able to order some spicy salsa to accompany at no charge. My shrimp plate was delicious! 2 skewers of nicely cooked and seasoned shrimp atop salsa with perfectly cooked cilantro rice and a fresh leaf salad. A half slices avocado accompanied my plate. Oh how I love avocados. I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. The chicken al carbon was also a good choice - half a chicken that was juicy, not dry. The avocado toast was beautiful and the pecan salsa was quite interesting. The female performers during our brunch in the room, made it very hard for all of us to have conversations. The volume echoed loudly in the room, so it was very hard to speak and understand each other. Although a great idea, maybe outdoor patio area might be more suitable.
