Even though I've never been to this place in person, I order from here for delivery through DoorDash quite often. My go to is the turkey lunch plate with pinto beans and a drink. The turkey is always flavorful and juicy and just the right portion for a satisfying lunch. The BBQ sauce that comes with it has the perfect amount of spice, and the pinto beans have a nice smoky BBQ flavor that pairs really well with the meal. Today I decided to add a couple of extra sides and tried the creamed corn and the green beans. The creamed corn is probably one of the best I've ever had because it's super creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. The green beans are cooked with pieces of bacon and are very well seasoned. We haven't been here since it opened. And I remember it used to be good. I had the chopped BBQ sandwich and it was ok. My low rating is due to the infested drink station full of gnats. And the once delicious iced tea used to be so good, tasted like they made it with water from La mangera (water-hose outside) iykyk. They had just opened so it doesn't make sense that everything tasted warmed up and maybe day-old: old potatoes; luke warm, dry brisket; luke-warm sausage cut into tiny bits so they fall out of the taco. My whole family hates their bbq sauce, so that hinders us being able to eat unless we take this to go. We also feel they are limited on sides and they are not that noteworthy. It's all freshly cooked but not the way we like them. We like buttered potatoes but theirs are bland. The corn is okay. Now what we really like from Smokey Moe's is their chicken. 5/5. We both got the 2 Meat Plate (comes with 3 meats, 2 sides, sauce, and 2 slices of bread). I got brisket, jalapeño sausage, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. My boyfriend got brisket, pork loin, Mac and cheese, and beans. We also got a chocolate chip cookie. The sausage and pork loin were both really good. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, and the brisket was flavorful too. I like my brisket more moist (like Rudy's) but my boyfriend liked Smokey Mo's brisket better. Either way, it was good. This restaurant has a beautiful interior and clean with kind and helpful staff that made great recommendations since it was our first time here. I had the 3 meat plate with brisket, turkey, and chopped. My sides were potato salad and baked beans. The brisket and chopped were delicious. The turkey i wasn't impressed with at all if possible just skip it nothing special or tasty. The potato salad was about average but the beans were great. Served with this meal is 2 slices of white bread. The bbq sauce on each table was delicious had a little spice to it but one of the best bbq sauces iv had. We didn't try any sides as we did those at home but the meat was perfect. I really enjoyed both the regular and jalapeño sausage. The brisket was not dry and more on the lean side but was not too heavy or rich. Chicken melted in your mouth and the pickles were sooo good! Placed a pick up order (for Uber Delivery) of 3/4 lb of meats and 4 sides. It was for delivery to a 76 year old woman who had returned from the hospital that day and the 76 year old woman taking care of her (and her 80 year old husband who has difficulty walking). Order was placed at 1:30 pm and was to be delivered between 7:00-7:30. At 7:45 I received a text the food had not arrived. When I checked it said it was "unfulfilled". Furious, I contacted Uber. They checked and said the restaurant canceled the order. I asked them to confirm it was Smokey Mo's that canceled the order. They confirmed (and I took a screenshot of the confirmation). Smokey Mo's left 3 elderly people with no food, no notice and no explanation. Just stopped by to grab some lunch and opted for the brisket sandwich combo with buttered potatoes & a lemonade (not fresh) but good. They brown paper bag it, my sandwich was wrapped in foil, I was so thankful for a bun and not a slice of bread. I also got some pickles and bbq sauce. The meat was tender and moist and didn't need the sauce but I put it on the sandwich anyway, it just enhanced it. The bbq sauce is a bit watery though and has a tiny kick. Specified that I wanted all moist not lean brisket and ended up with 1.5lbs of dry beef, the size of the sides are about 1/3 of what they used to be but the price is still the same. I ordered the regular baked potato and was given the brisket potato. They only sent 4 pieces of sliced bread with a family meal that's supposed to feed 3-4 people. I want to make it clear that I love Smokey Mo's! But I also need to make others aware for safety reasons. My family always orders big meals from Smokey Mo's. Normally we order from the Stoneoak location but we happened to be by this location so we picked up from here instead. We ordered two family meals for 10 people this past Saturday for a birthday celebration. Turkey, Ribs, Brisket, Cream Corn, Mac & Cheese, and Potato Salad. I'm not a big fan of BBQ but this is my go to for BBQ when I have a craving. I love the turkey and potato salad! The BBQ sauce is awesome of course, we always have some in the fridge lol. So after the family served themselves 1-2 plates, we noticed that at the bottom of the mac and cheese, there was a small roach inside. Everyone of course was no longer interested in eating the food, and to which a few of us were actually sick the next day. I spoke to Manager Patrick who apologized and said this has never happened before, and would refund the entire order. I appreciate the quick response from management and will still continue to order but just want to make other aware. read more
