BBQ ribs, slaw, and pinto beans with jalapeños in them
    Leon W.

My daughter and I ate lunch here today and it was not to my taste, but of course everyone's taste buds are different! The BBQ ribs were dry, the potato salad was made with too much mustard and the BBQ sauce tasted made with too much vinegar. But the Brisket, (marble) was to die for!! I would go back in a heart beat for the brisket!

    Ribs, beans, coleslaw, and bread.

Food was amazing. Service was excellent!! My husband is a picky eater, but really enjoyed the food. Definitely going back!!

Found this hidden gem literally by just driving by. Very friendly staff and let me tell you. Fantastic Wagu Brisket, chicken and sausage! Pinto beans were pretty good. Potato salad taste like it was purchased elsewhere but decent. It was a little expensive but I don't mind paying for quality meat. Not really sure why the restaurant was so empty. On a scale of 1 thru 10, I have to give it a 9.5! I will definitely return.

Sausage sandwich with potato salad and beans

Love coming to this place. The brisket is always so tender and mostly meat. Today, I got the sausage sandwich, which has a slight kick. The potato had the right amount of seasoning, and perfection. I'm picky with beans, but they are amazing. Baked potato melted and was devoured. Very quiet, chill spot with a bar next door. Friendly, amazing people.

Brickyard BBQ was recommended by a family friend. Place was nice, clean, relaxing, probably had around 15 tables. Not too busy when we arrived just before noon. The brisket was delicious as was the beans and coleslaw. It was obvious that they were training an employee at the register, all staff were friendly. It was the 1st time eating there but definitely not the last time.

The food is an excellent deal for the price you pay. Very fast and efficient and friendly service.

Delicious dry rubbed ribs and delivered to us next door at the bar...if I lived closer id be a regular at these amazing prices! People are so nice at the restaurant as well as the bar next door!

The larger cup, beans. The really, really small cup, bbq sauce. I ordered 2 meats so definitely needed more sauce.

The brisket was kinda dry, not moist at all, overcooked? Or just sitting there too long. Definitely needed extra sauce. Ribs were good, fell off the bone. Potatoe salad ok. Beans had awesome flavor. Need more sauce and more pickles. MISSING the bread!

Briquettes with 2 sides. Potato salad and pinto beans.

I love brisquet, it was delicious. Albeit a bit expensive. That's the going price for good brisquet. The place has been there 6 years. Must be doing pretty hood. The 2 gentlemen there were pretty friendly. Clean restroom. Nice and quiet.

My colleague s and I dined here for lunch, and it was our first time trying this bbq spot. This restaurant has a convenient location within the medical center. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but seemed to start picking up as we were leaving. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean. They have two TVs and this is a plus to enjoy a show while eating. I ordered the loaded baked potato but it's not the kind of loaded that I'm used to; I still I liked it but it lacked seasoning. Even after sprinkling an excess amount of salt, I still couldn't taste it. I added bbq sauce but it didn't help with the flavor. As a matter of fact, the bbq sauce tasted watered down. I don't know if it was a certain brand or homemade. My colleagues enjoyed their meals. The brisket was cooked to perfection but something was missing. The soda was good and wasn't watered down. In comparison to other bbq joints I've eaten at, this place can't compete. The prices are excellent but I'd pay extra for larger servings and better taste. I do plan on eating here again but will bring on my own seasoning if I decide to dine in.

Flavorless dry brisket and dry bread

Unfortunately, worst bbq we've ever tried. Ribs and brisket were really dry, meat portions are small, no flavor and sides tasted store bought. The cream corn was watery. Even the bread was dry. None of it was worth the price we paid. Service was friendly, but the food was no good. Don't recommend and won't be returning. So disappointing.

Came to this restaurant on a whim on a lunch break. Generally I save bbq for when I go back to houston, but decided to try it out. Brisket (2.5/5): I requested the brisket to be moist. At $21 a pound, I felt the price was much better than the $28+ I'm used to. However, I felt it was pretty average. The smoke ring was practically nonexistent, and I definitely had a lot of leaner or dryer cuts mixed into the batch. Flavor wise it was decent, but I would probably stick to Rudy's if I wanted brisket that is priced well. The location is convenient in the medical center, the price is great, but I have had better brisket overall.

    Loaded brisket baked potato.

Loaded brisket baked potato. This barbecue place is like a hidden treasure. The food was very flavorful. We were told very little salt was used, but it's very very well seasoned. No salt and pepper shakers needed. It was just a hidden treasure that we discovered, and we will be back.

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.

Health risk warning!!…read more I visited this Potbelly's location and was very disappointed with their food handling practices. While preparing my sandwich, I watched the employee place ham directly on the scale without wiping it down, using parchment, or putting down any kind of barrier. When I asked if they could place something underneath the meat before weighing it, the response was simply that they "sanitize it." The scale clearly wasn't clean. I could still see leftover meat on it and given that this location serves chicken, turkey, roast beef, pork, and more, cross-contamination should be a major concern. Customers should never have to point out that a dirty scale needs to be wiped before food is placed on it. What makes this even more frustrating is that I've experienced this same issue at other Potbelly's locations. I drove farther out to this store specifically hoping it would be different, but unfortunately the same unsanitary practice was happening here as well. Food safety should always come first, and this experience left me questioning whether proper sanitary practices are being followed across the chain.
