I ordered a veggie omelet, a cheese omelet, and bacon. It was... nutrients. Maybe I am missing out and their sweet stuff is better. The omelets tasted a tiny bit odd on the outside, the hashbrowns smelled weird (those two things means they might need to clean their griddle or ingredients are off), and there was literally, actually, no seasoning. You can't do that with veggie and cheese omelets. It's so terribly bland. And the potatoes didn't seem to contain a hint if salt either. I understand salt to taste, but there should be some to start, as it is not the same trying to incorporate it after cooking as when it is during cooking. With a heavy heart, I must give 2 stars. I ate half the omelet bc I was starving, and my fiancee at half hers bc she was having a blood sugar episode. Faint praise. My new favorite breakfast spot!!! Love that they open and are ready at 7:30 am. And they have a little parking lot. The service was so friendly. It was a friend's birthday and they gave her a bowl of fruit with sprinkles and whipped cream!! So sweet of them. We each had a skillet breakfast. This is a cute diner off Mack ave. They do have a small parking lot but it seems there is one right next door that you can use too. We were greeted and sat right away. The menu has all your diner stuff. Breakfast, salads, lunch and dinner foods. I got the meat lovers omelet it was full of everything by!! I could only eat half. Food was adequate. Hash browns were terribly bland and greasy but the croissant sandwich was good. I was in a hurry and I handed the waitress my credit card without asking for a printed bill. She handed me a portable terminal with a total displayed. The terminal then asked me to enter a tip. My server was a blond haired woman in about her mid to late 60's. Today is July 26, 2025. We arrived at apprx. 2:25pm est. The food was average no complaints ,yet the only thing that rubs me wrongly is that my server had a very short temperament toward me and then to top it off she over charged me for our meal. You all please add this up with me ok? We ordered three entree's. Two of which cost $14 each and the third was $14.50. I also ordered pancakes for $9, a milk, and a hot chocolate. Including tax, our bill totaled to $73.20. As an after thought, I asked my girlfriend if she thought that the numbers added up correctly as we drove home. Soooo first time in was 10/10. I've been hearing great things about this place for years and my lunch break was finally long enough to sneak over. I love the homey feel in this restaurant, it's super cozy! Although I forgot to take photos for the first time I can tell you everything we ordered was delicious! We ordered one of the skillets with steak and eggs over medium and everything was cooked perfectly! The Monte Cristo breakfast sandwhich was to die for and is the perfect combination of sweet and savory that you need in your life for breakfast! Lastly, the omelette that ordered was huge so I'm assuming they are atleast 3-4 omelettes, I love that they grill their onions before adding them in! Just moved to GPP. Moving doesn't leave a lot of time for cooking, especially with contractors, unpacking, etc, in the morning. Stumbled on place while looking for a gas station. So happy I did. This is my new go to place. Small parking lot is appreciated and inside has a nice mix of booths and tables. Looks like a diner, only thing missing is a sit in counter. Immediately greeted and seated with a server right behind to give me coffee and water. She also checked in regularly during the meal to see if I needed anything like water and coffee refills.Nice menu and great prices for value and quality of the food. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great. Good portions of hash browns, crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, gravy was rich and served with fried steak on a separate dish (I like it that way so it food does not get soggy and crowded). Nice size steak and eggs cooked perfectly. It came out quickly and hot and the coffee was good. Most people were eating and chatting and I noticed some had finished meals but were leisurely chatting with friends. Very relaxed vibe. Came the next day and just had fried eggs, ham, bacon and sausage and it was perfect. Same as day before. I hope it maintains this consistency and vibe as I will be a regular. read more

John and I are always on the hunt for new and exciting breakfast places to eat at. I saw this one pop up and called to make sure they were open on New Year's Day, which they were. It's a little bit out of our driving range, but well worth it once we got there. Walking in, there's plenty of seating and the menu has many options to choose from. One thing we noticed was how not everything was laced with pork, which is good since I don't eat it. I went with the breakfast wrap and John got the Strawberry French toast. His French toast was amazing and picture worthy, but he dug in before I could take a photo! My breakfast wrap was good but tasted a bit salty. It was fine though, and I did like it. Service here was friendly and wonderful, and we enjoyed our time here. They also automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill so make sure to check when you go to pay. I didn't realize it until I saw the sign at the register and then checked my bill. I did add additional tips so that worked out well. While the area isn't the prettiest I've been to, it's worth every bite going here. Many breakfast and lunch options to choose from and the place seems to run pretty efficiently which we loved. It's super sweet and decadent. The Florentine Benny was yummy for my mother. She said it was great. It's her favorite thing on the menu and that's all she's ever had during her 4 visits here. This was my first time dining at The Cracked Egg. My coworkers had recommended this restaurant years ago, so when my friend wanted to meet up for breakfast/brunch, we decided to try this restaurant. I liked the fact that the restaurant was big enough to allow for social distance between tables. And another plus we're the waitresses, they were very nice and the customer service was great! The reason for my 3 star rating was the food! Now, the portions were huge! But the food just liked seasoning, and taste. I ordered the Steak Omelette, Hash Browns and Grits on the side. The steak wasn't seasoned; the hash browns were dry, and the grits were thick, but tasted dry as well. My friend ordered the Corned Beef Hash, and and order of the Chicken and Waffles (I know, greedy, lol). He didn't complain about his food. But I definitely wasn't completely satisfied with my food. I would be open to trying The Cracked Egg again, and perhaps ordering something different on the menu. But I hope that the food will be better next time around! read more
