This place is so cute. It's in oak park in a shopping center complex. You can get your shopping on then so and get you something to eat. I got the tuna salad, where my friend got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich with grids. The food was good, snd the service was good. It's a quaint family owned restaurant that knows most of their costumes by name. That's how at home you feel when you're there. I only wish that they would incorporate mixed greens, or romaine with the ALL salads. But other than that.. this place is slappin'.. A good place to eat! Yall keep yelping.

I feel like I have been here before, was it possibly another diner that was known for sandwiches. Suggest sitting away from the door, it's a bit drafty and cool every time the door is opened, despite there being double doors between. Our waitress was nice and friendly and attentive. She got our food order in quickly and if you came out not too long after. She was quick to clean up afterwards and give us some clean space. She was also efficient and getting us a check so we could leave. Ordered the Greek omelet with Tzatziki sauce, hash browns with Rye toast and an order2 eggs scrambled, hash browns with green peppers and onions well done and cinnamon raisin toast too. The rye toast and Greek omelet came out as well as my raisin toast, my eggs, turkey sausage and hash browns came out a minute later. The omelet, not burnt and a bright yellow and plain hash brown looked good, they looked nice and crispy. My two scrambled eggs were a nice healthy yellow color, were not burnt. The turkey sausages looked super thin and deflated. There wasn't much to him and he didn't taste that great. My husband enjoyed his Greek omelette as well as his crispy hashbrowns. He tried his right host as well, so it was OK. My raisin toast was fine, didn't have much butter on it, but was OK. I'd probably give it about a 3 1/2 star, but the main part of the food was good. The bread and the turkey sausage is about two for me. The main entrée food was a solid four. I would definitely come back here for the hashbrowns and omelettes. I'd like to try some of their lunch menu items next time, They looked good as well.

The empty, restaurant there was literally only two tables here when I got here

The food was horrible, I literally didn't even have a server. I had to beg just to get anyone's attention. The service was the most horrible service I have ever had in my entire life. Then the manager tried to yell across the restaurant to see what I needed when I politely raised my hand to add on a side. It was the most ghetto experience and atmosphere to ever attend, my food was soggy and I was dining in. I didn't even have a chance to take a picture of the food because I sent it back, then she tried to say I'm paying for the whole bill. And the food is making me sick to my stomach and I'm about to puke it up. I would advise anyone to stay away from this establishment , very ghetto females who work.

I went and got their special of 2 coney islands and fries on my lunch hour. I chose this place because it was nearby and when I told my coworker I was going she said she wanted the same thing. Picked up our food and got back to work and was shocked at what we got. The food did not seem fresh at all! We had to throw it away because it was not edible but would have brought it back if we could. The coney dogs were burnt black and dry and the fries were over cooked and greasy as if they had been put in the grease twice. We immediately called and the customer service we received was horrible. The manager was nasty and asked what did I want her to do about it? She then said everyone knows their food is fresh and that they coneys are deep fried more than other places. When I asked to speak to the owner she refused to put him on the phone saying he was cooking. She then said they don't give refunds because other people have been asking for refunds which has nothing to do with us. Clearly there is a lot of red flags with this place because why is everyone picking this place out to ask for refunds if nothing was wrong with it? This place. What place has complaints and the owner refuses to talk to them? This place. It was 12 oclock when I spoke to her and she calls back saying she was leaving at 3. This was after I told her I came on my lunch hour and did not get off until 6. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!

9 Oaks for the win! Country hash, veggie omelette and pancakes.

I have been to 9 Oaks Grill multiple times. I actually live down the road and was super excited to find a breakfast place that was close. It takes a lot to deter me from my usual breakfast places, but sometimes you just want to go somewhere, not wait in a line, grab a table and get amazing breakfast. Sounds easy, right? So, 9 Oaks Grill is tucked into a plaza with multiple other stores. If you blink you could miss it. Actually, I would love for them to get a bigger, bolder sign so people know that they exist. It's not a bad sign, but you can't really see it from the street. Anyway, basically this is my new go to breakfast place (along with Monty's. Loooove Monty's). There are tons of options on the menu, but I always seem to get the country hash. Who doesn't love crispy hash browns, green peppers, onions ham, cheese... Yum! When you sub feta for cheddar they NEVER skimp. The breakfast platters (yes, platters) are huge. I always have breakfast leftovers for the next day. The veggie omelette had lots of really fresh ingredients and was perfectly cooked. Grab yourself the corned beef sandwich (9 Oaks Special). It's really tasty! At first I thought it may be just like all the other corned beef sandwiches, but there is just something extra delicious in this one. Maybe it's the buttery grilled thick rye bread or their specially made corned beef. I don't know, but I love it. The food is really good and maybe one day I will move past my regular order... It's just so damn tasty. The standout here is really service and climate. The servers are always attentive and friendly. Maybe this is just my perspective, but they seem to actually like one another. There is a simpatico between the waitresses/waiters and the kitchen. They always seem to be smiling and joking. You can always tell when staff is treated well and I always appreciate that in a local place. I like to eat local and try very hard to shop local. These are the things you can't get from bigger places. Also, the small diner feel brings me back. I like walking into a small place and seeing the same people. Maybe that makes me uber traditional, but I appreciate that in a place. If they keep doing what they are doing, they will have a customer for a long time. Stop in! You'll be glad you did. :)

Corn Beef hash. I requested my hash browns cooked hard. Corn beef perfectly cooked and not salty.

I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.

The restaurant overall had a very dirty feel. Our server's tone felt incredibly rude and made us feel like a burden whenever we ordered anything, despite us being very polite. I ordered curly fries and was disappointed when I found out they were out of them when I was brought waffle fries instead, but they were still good. I wouldn't come back to this location.

I went there often whenever I was in the mood for a good ole BLT sandwich. But after the last 3 times in the last few months--and 3 failed BLTs in a row--I think it's time to find a new place for my coney/diner BLT cravings. I cant afford to throw away their mistakes every time I pick up a to-go order. AND THEY DONT DO REFUNDS WHEN THEY SCREW UP!! JANUARY: I ordered a BLT from the Flat Rock location. Im not sure what exactly theyre doing, but the bacon had an overpowering smoke flavor. I actually enjoy smoked bacon, but this tasted like they dipped the bacon strips in liquid smoke. My friend ordered potato skins with bacon crumbles & when I mentioned the over-the-top smoke flavor, they said they didn't taste it. So I sampled the skins. No smoke flavor at all. How does one bacon have it & the other doesn't? Who knows, but the BLT was awful & I couldnt enjoy it. FEBRUARY: A few weeks later I again got a BLT, this time at Monroe location. The bacon was fine & cooked perfectly, but there was ONE thin leaf of lettuce, no mayo, & the bread wasn't toasted. Raw & dry. Again, my BLT was barely enjoyable. My friend ordered the worst CHEESE quesadilla I have ever seen in my life. The tortilla was completely raw & not grilled at all. Unlisted on the online menu under cheese queso, it was jam-packed with an enormous amount of chopped RAW green pepper & RAW onion. The tortilla was bulging in the middle there was so much crap crammed in there. Then a blob of unidentified melted orange cheese. No spices. No seasoning. That's it. Barely even melted. Clearly microwaved. Gross! They forgot the salsa & we spent forever picking out all that gross uncooked pepper & onion. A CHEESE QUESADILLA! When Taco Bell's quesadilla blows yours out the door, you're having some REAL PROBLEMS in UR kitchen. The amount of raw green pepper/raw onion was ungodly. I'm serious when I say it looked like an entire pepper. The tortilla tore & it was spilling everywhere. We threw it out. The car reeked! I cant eat raw onion. I cant even be around it because the same fumes that make UR eyes water when cutting one burn the living hell out of my sinuses with the mere scent. It was just awful. MARCH: The last straw was this week. I got an order of hummus from the Flat Rock location & once again took a shot at a decent BLT. I couldnt believe my eyes when I opened the hummus. I had to take a photo. It was $7 or $8 for a SMEAR of hummus on the bottom corner of a huge container. Then, I can only assume to add weight & make the box feel full, they added an entire pile of shredded raw onion, half a soggy tomato, chunks of cucumber, a few chickpeas & an olive. Hummus appetizer = tiny amount of hummus. NO BREAD! Not a single piece of bread for the generous tiny spoonful of hummus they sold me as an appetizer. When I got home, I got out my camera & measuring spoons. NOT EVEN TWO FULL TEASPOONS of hummus in that huge container. I'm not exaggerating. CHECK OUT THE PHOTO. They plopped down a blob, smeared it around so it looked like more, & dropped some old sad vegetables on top. Look at it. It's barely enough for a single piece of bread--which I didn't even get! ONE PIECE OF BREAD WOULD HAVE FINISHED THE ENTIRETY OF THE THIS $7-8 HUMMUS ORDER! If U ran out of hummus, just say so & I'll pick something else. Instead, they thought it was okay to charge me $7/8 & hand this to me. Screw U! Go back & complain & they claim U ate it. One look at my photo U see I didn't touch it. Oh, but this time I thought I was clever when I ordered my BLT! Not wanting another dry blt, I thought ahead & asked for mayo on the side & extra lettuce in the comments when ordering online. I received SOUR CREAM in a cup. And 2 thin leaves of wilted lettuce. THIN! Why even call it BLT with 2 measly leaves? Not full head of lettuce leaves, but small strips of green. Leos laughing all the way to the back with that one!! Jesus!!! Im not asking for a head of freaking lettuce here! May I please have enough on my sandwich to actually taste the stuff? Its lettuce! It's the L in the BLT! And once again, the bacon was so overpowered with smoke flavor I couldn't finish it. 3 strikes, you're out. I wanted to give Leo's the benefit of the doubt after over 20 years, but U can't measure up to the lowest possible half buried bar in the dirt for even the most basic orders. It's a BLT & U can't get it right even when I SPELL OUT the order. It's hummus & bread & U screwed THAT up & ripped me off. I dont know how you're even able to stay in business. Frankly, if U go under, I wont miss you. Judging by the other reviewers, neither will anyone else. At the time of this review, Im not shocked to see U sitting at 2 stars. Sorry, Leo's, but U are all are just horrible. Keep your dang raw onions.
