I'm only giving 2 stars because I actually love Marriott. The hotel is amazing, super friendly staff, clean rooms and the scent is super refreshing. The food on the other hand is horrible. I order the alligator tacos and it was very bland and expensive. I wanted to send it back and have it taken off the bill, but I didn't want to trouble the waiter. The food was horrible- absolutely no taste.

I'm stepping up my rating of this place after numerous repeat visits that were much better then the first. The service here has really improved as well. Not sure if it's because I'm a "regular" now but they're better at greeting you at the door and service seems speedier. I always have the elderflower martini here ($11.00) which is good, strong, but good. I like a good strong martin after a crap day so no complaints here. They've changed a few things as well, still trying to find perfection. The heirloom tomato salad ($9.00) is presented in a stack style now, which I like, and it's very good . Numerous types of tomato with nice fresh mozz and a great balsamic. the chicken and waffle sliders ($10.00) also seemed to be stepped up some, although still not on advertised "Belgian " waffles. They should just deleted that word from the description . The chicken is done so well though, its very good! had my traditional gnocchi bolognaise ($20.00) which is a little high priced for pasta dish, but it is at a hotel restaurant, and it is darn good. Barely tweeked from the old vincenzos days as it really didn't need it. He had the chicken marsala ($26.00) Definitely overpriced for chicken BUT have to say, best marsala I've had In a long time. Really good stuff, and the chicken was soooo juicy . Impressive. Had a bottle of Justin Isocseles with dinner ($80.00) suggested by our waiter, and it was very good and not badly off pricepoint either. I will continue to support this business and look forward to return visits. (Hopefully without 40 kids screaming around the very visible pool-they really should put curtiains on the windows)

Espresso BBQ Burger...extra charred for that awesome hockey puck on a bun flavor!

The dining room was empty when we got here. Considering it was lunchtime this should have been a warning sign. We both ordered the Espresso BBQ Burger with fries, which the server highly recommended. Nothing on the plate was seasoned, including what I suspect were frozen burger patties. The patties were so charred they literally looked like pieces of coal. The inside meat was not pink as it should have been but instead was grey. Even the fries were overcooked! This place is a total joke and not at all farm to table or fresh tasting in any way.

I enjoyed my visit to The Craft on Friday. Although there were a couple things of note. Ambience is trendy with large lighting and booths divided by sheers. Plenty of bar space and dining area. Some of the booths were at windows facing an elegant pool. The evening with friends started with fried cheese curds and a Stella. The sauce was a buttery gravy under fried cheese wedges topped with spiraled beets with bacon. A nice start with warm creamy flavors. Kind of subduing. I was delighted they served banana bread beer. A new pleasure. We ordered another appetizer. Ahi Tuna that had delightful peanut sauce, spicy mayo, and the typical ginger and wasabi. The tuna was room temperature. As dinner started we enjoyed a bottle of wine the Prisoner. Similar to the taste of a Shiraz. For dinner i had the Gnocchi Bolognese. The sauce wasbexc excellent. The gnocchi was room temperature and relied in the sauce for warmth. The combination was very good together. As the evening wound down we hadca bottle of Magnificent. Also excellent. The one negative was a drink was served with a bug. The server "bartender" who obliged us with table service in an excellent manner and took care of the issue once brought to his attention. I would recommend this place but I did not think it was consistently wow.

James was a great server the minute we walked in he was attentive! Got us bread and drinks. Came right back checked in if all was good and he was in training. Brought our salad and more bread he said he put more for us;)! Gave us a togo box and i wanted more fresh bread and he never said no. James way to go!!!! Keep up the great service!

    Filet perfectly done!

(They live in San Diego and had a small wedding on west coast). Angie, the owner and chef extraordinaire, took care of every detail for me, as if I was a member of her family. My sister who was born on the bicentennial arrived to a decorated private room that was all red, white and blue - tablecloths, napkins, centerpieces, white string lights, and dangling flags and USA from the ceiling. It was so beautiful that my sister was in awe and had a little tear of happiness. Some of family loved the centerpieces so much that they took some home! The food was absolutely a 12 on a scale of 1-10. Angie helped me on the food and alcohol budget. We planned a fish and chicken taco bar. The mahi mahi was so flaky, fresh and perfectly seasoned. Even non-fish lovers raved about it! (Apparently mahi mahi sandwiches are #1 on the menu). She made homemade queso, homemade baked mac n cheese (for my non-taco eaters), chicken nuggets, fruit platters and more. My family raved about the food and even got to go boxes. As part of the party, I had games and giveaways. Angie donated a couple Breakroom gift cards for the local family to win. And the drinks...we had the bottomless Sunday drinks! The Breakroom has every flavor mimosa, with the favorites being passion fruit, mango and raspberry. My oldest uncle from Sarasota, who is 91, wasn't interested in the bottomless options. He wanted Johnny Walker. The Breakroom had a lot of scotch but not Johnny. But that didn't stop Angie for making sure he was happy. She ran out special to buy a bottle. My Uncle, who is hard to please, told me "best party ever"! It's been a week since the party, and I'm still getting daily compliments from all the family on how much they loved the parTy. The Hot & Crunchy Tuna bowl absolutely deserves its reputation, and the hot honey pizza was dangerously good. I like that you can select from an assortment of proteins and bases for salads and bowls, allowing you to customize your order. The food was tasty. The cons were just too numerous for me. 1. The parking lots is chaotic, at best, as Cali is the corner unit of a grocery store plaza. If you are familiar with Florida parking lots, this is a textbook nightmare. 2. The service was horrendous. The hostess saw a half empty restaurant and told us our group of 5 would have a 10 minute wait. She was determined to give us a round table, but the couple who were occupying it, were lingering long past cashing out their check. We offered to sit elsewhere, and was told that it was a no. The tables were bolted to the floor and we should just wait. Finally, we convinced her to let us pull up a chair at a vacant table outside, to make 5 and she reluctantly agreed. Once seated outside, the table was bare, as the seating is on the plaza sidewalk. So, it's bare minimum - chairs and tables. Anything you need to eat- silverware, napkins, salt & pepper, must be brought from inside. Our waitress was working tables both inside and out, so we were overlooked. She would make an appearance to drop off menus, then take off for 10 minutes. She would return to do take our order and quickly disappear. It was frustrating ti have to ask for napkins, more drinks, the checks. There was no flow, no consideration for seated diners. The food was tasty with fair size portions. But, the experience made me feel like I was the one waiting the table. My friends suggested the Cali in Tampa as the better option. I'll pass.

We bellied up, ordered 2 brews, an order of mild chicken wings and a medium classic burger, which was just meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. I wanted a different burger, but the prices were crazy high. The basic freaking classic burger was $10.50. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked where our food was. The bartender went to check on it and returned roughly five minutes later. Unapologetic, he handed us our food. I cut my burger in half, and the damn thing was beyond well done, but since we were in a bit of a rush and hungry, I just ate the thing. First bite was crunchy because the edges of the burger were actually burnt. Nothing made up for the $10.50 price either. It wasn't a particularly large burger, it was dry, there was little-to-no seasoning and the bun was far from fresh. I mean, it's been a really long time since I felt so gypped. I ate half, got the rest to go and we bounced. I would have mentioned the ill-cooked burger had the bartender ever came back around to ask how the food was. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend eating here. There are much better options nearby, like Burger King and Moe's.
