    The Country Combo
    Priscilla H.

Sweet little Mom and Pop diner with personable servers and savory food. I went a couple of days before Halloween and the homey decorations put me in a good mood. I had the Country Combo: 2 eggs over medium, 1 biscuit and gravy, 2 sausage links, and home fries. NOw, I love biscuits and gravy, but I'm particular. Creamy with savory sausage, not too much pepper or spicy heat--yes, I know, but this is MY preference. Gabby's nailed it. Eggs were properly cooked, and the link sausage was OK but the flavor seemed oddly sweet to me. But the Home Fries were the star of the plate. Thinly sliced, real potatoes that were perfectly cooked with bits ranging from baked potato soft to crispy crunchy. My new favorite Breakfast diner!

Service was great! This is an old school spot, so the decor is not fancy, but the food is good, prices are fair and the bathroom is clean. Cheese omelet with feta had plenty of cheese, homefries were barely seasoned, so salt, pepper and hot sauce helped. Biscuits & gravy were decent. Raisins toast is excellent... I love that's one of the regular toast choices. Lots of regulars at this place

We arrived at lunch time in a Saturday, they were medium busy. The place has the vibe of your standard old style diner. The service was very pleasant, however the furnishings are worn out and uncomfortable. We ordered the Haddock fish sandwich which was not on the menu, you had to alter the dinner Haddock. it was really good. The tartar sauce was obviously home made and the crinkle cut fries were cooked just right. We also had the jalapeño cheese burger which came with a nice hand made patty and fresh grilled jalapeño's was juicy and perfect. Over all a good experience.

Hits the spot everytime 10$, picked up in 10 minutes... Plus it was delicious!!! Highly recommend putting the slaw on the sandwich, game changer! It did include mushrooms as well but not a mushroom fan.

Stopped here while going to St Pete. Fast and friendly service. Food came quick and was good family restaurant. Options for breakfast or lunch. I got the Mexican omelette which was chorizo, onion, pepper. Came with home fries and toast. Wish it was cheddar inside versus American, but flavor was good. Chorizo was a bit light. Home fries were nice and crispy on the outside. Others in my group hand tuna melt, Reuben and a breakfast platter. Melts were good size. Waffle was good.

I came here because of the high quality reviews I saw about the burger. And I'll be honest, the meat did have a good taste to it, but the overall burger wasn't the kind that you're just dying to have again. It's good, but not unforgettable. Now the cole slaw? Maybe the best I've ever tasted. On the real. Unfortunately it came more like a garnish in a like a little two bite cup.

Looked forward to stopping in for a quality breakfast. I recently stopped into the Parkside Cafe and wanted to see how Gaby's matched. The quality and flavor of the food exceeded that of Gaby's competitor. I chose to get a little variety. The food was hot and made to order to my request. The bacon was flat, crispy and dry per my request. The Biscuits and gravy had good flavor. Definitely hit the spot. I'd highly recommend a visit. It's easy to find in 49th street just south of Ulmerton Road. The service was of good quality as well. Thanks Michael J Beal Clearwater, Florida

Was picking up my bike and wanted to grab breakfast beforehand and Gabys popped up with decent reviews. Love mom n pop places. Very friendly folks and plenty of seating at the time we were there. Breakfast / lunchtime. Standard selections for breakfast. I got the sunrise which had a bit of everything. Wanted to have the sausage gravy since it got the most comments. All was really good! The gravy is awesome! No non sense just good solid cooking.

(They live in San Diego and had a small wedding on west coast). Angie, the owner and chef extraordinaire, took care of every detail for me, as if I was a member of her family. My sister who was born on the bicentennial arrived to a decorated private room that was all red, white and blue - tablecloths, napkins, centerpieces, white string lights, and dangling flags and USA from the ceiling. It was so beautiful that my sister was in awe and had a little tear of happiness. Some of family loved the centerpieces so much that they took some home! The food was absolutely a 12 on a scale of 1-10. Angie helped me on the food and alcohol budget. We planned a fish and chicken taco bar. The mahi mahi was so flaky, fresh and perfectly seasoned. Even non-fish lovers raved about it! (Apparently mahi mahi sandwiches are #1 on the menu). She made homemade queso, homemade baked mac n cheese (for my non-taco eaters), chicken nuggets, fruit platters and more. My family raved about the food and even got to go boxes. As part of the party, I had games and giveaways. Angie donated a couple Breakroom gift cards for the local family to win. And the drinks...we had the bottomless Sunday drinks! The Breakroom has every flavor mimosa, with the favorites being passion fruit, mango and raspberry. My oldest uncle from Sarasota, who is 91, wasn't interested in the bottomless options. He wanted Johnny Walker. The Breakroom had a lot of scotch but not Johnny. But that didn't stop Angie for making sure he was happy. She ran out special to buy a bottle. My Uncle, who is hard to please, told me "best party ever"! It's been a week since the party, and I'm still getting daily compliments from all the family on how much they loved the parTy. Bravo and Thank you, Breakroom. We will be back!

It was fine, but no substitute -- the honey made it a little too sweet for my taste. Still a solid pizza, just not the same. The tomatoes were excellent, still a little firm and not soggy, with just the right amount of crisp on the coating. We bellied up, ordered 2 brews, an order of mild chicken wings and a medium classic burger, which was just meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. I wanted a different burger, but the prices were crazy high. The basic freaking classic burger was $10.50. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked where our food was. The bartender went to check on it and returned roughly five minutes later. Unapologetic, he handed us our food. I cut my burger in half, and the damn thing was beyond well done, but since we were in a bit of a rush and hungry, I just ate the thing. First bite was crunchy because the edges of the burger were actually burnt. Nothing made up for the $10.50 price either. It wasn't a particularly large burger, it was dry, there was little-to-no seasoning and the bun was far from fresh. I mean, it's been a really long time since I felt so gypped. I ate half, got the rest to go and we bounced. I would have mentioned the ill-cooked burger had the bartender ever came back around to ask how the food was. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend eating here. There are much better options nearby, like Burger King and Moe's.
