They "accidentally" overcharged us. Yes they corrected it and apologized, only after we caught it and told them about it. BTW there's a 3% credit card fee (shown on the check, not on the menu), and $3 for sharing a plate (again not on the menu, and yes even at the bar area according to Chris the manager). I came here years ago when it was Caddy's and they didn't do much change in decoration. That's ok by me because the place has always been beautiful. The menu is pretty extensive with a bunch of Greek options. I think it's great for tourists since it's right on the beach. Despite the nice view we got from our table, and fine and somewhat attentive service, the food was generally pretty terrible. I got a fettuccine Alfredo that was quite bland and the taste I did get was not pleasant. My mom tried one of the veal dishes and did not enjoy it. The spanakopita was not bad but not great. Burger was fine, fries were gross. We hoped the deserts would make up for the generally unappetising dishes, and I was very glad to see my beloved creme brûlée on the menu, but my sugar crust was burnt, not caramelised, and the lava cake was fully cooked through! I hate to do this, but I have to give this place a bad review. I will break down everything in my entire experience of last Thursday's dinner. My best friend was in town, and we got free tickets to a comedy show that was going to be played right next door to Tavern on the Bay. One of my friends also joined as we had a table for three and met up at 5:30 PM on a Thursday night. When we arrived, the restaurant was not even 25% full, which makes sense because it was a cold rainy evening, and we were out super early. We were seated very quickly and had Leslie serve us. Leslie was obviously new and, unfortunately, needs more training. We told her we were going to a comedy show next door and had to be out of there within an hour. We ordered drinks and food within the first five minutes. The drink and appetizers came out quickly as the place started to fill up, and this is where the night went downhill. We waited another 30+ minutes before Leslie came back to our table and informed my friend that the halibut that he had ordered was no longer available as it was 86. he then pivoted and ordered the fresh grouper. She said she would have it made very quickly. Another 20 minutes passed, and I was very frustrated with the whole process. I understand workers do mess up, but you should own up to it. There is no way she put our food in altogether, and the time on the slip would have shown that I had also ordered a New England clam chowder that never showed up and ended up paying for it. Unfortunately, I did not have time to grab her and have her take it off as we were already late for the show, and she could not split up our bill, so I took it all and paid for it myself. She also did not apologize, as I was baffled by three simple meals taking more than 90 minutes. I have been a regular at Skidders for the last 20+ years and was very excited to try Peter's new place. I will definitely be back, but I will make sure I will avoid Leslie. The food was phenomenal, the other staff that followed Peter are always great, and the views off the back were outstanding. Things that went wrong: * ordered and paid for chowder that never came * waited over an hour for 3 entrees * she didn't give me a bottle of ketchup on every other table but little packets * waited 50 minutes to inform my friend his food was 86. * if she had put the food in and not forgotten, the kitchen staff would have informed her immediately Service: 1/10 Bang bang cauliflower: 9.0 Baked scallops: 9.4 Tuna melt: 8.4 Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after trying once read more

Super cute inside! Everyone was so nice and the service was great ! The food was as you would expect , did feel it was a bit over priced ( even for the beach) . We had a the Greek stuffed chicken , mozzarella Luna and a gyro . Everything was pretty good! I will say the drink and wine list is geared toward the sweet cocktail lover . Not very balanced . We have been coming to the area for decades. We thought we would try a new restaurant. Unfortunately, our bet did not pay off. Our group consisted of 6 people (three adults and three kids). Not a single person in our group would come back. Whomever drafted the menu did a wonderful job. Dishes sound delicious, but the food served did not equal the enticing descriptions in the menu. Also, I would say that we have eaten out just about every night for three weeks in the area. This was by far the most expensive dinner for our group (even before the mandatory tip!). If you were like me, you recently saw a paid ad with videography of this Mediterranean restaurant. The video was absolutely beautiful and the location, well it speaks for itself. That is if you do get seated in the area where you can see the water. Regardless the menu is missing Mediterranean food. When I first walked in a table was leaving. I was unsure of what they told the hostess, but it seemed as if many tables did not have their food. I'm partner and I sat outside to grab anI'm partner and I sat outside to grab a drink while we were reading to be seated. My drink was so strong that I ended up not drinking it and even though Tuesdays is advertised five dollar cocktails somehow someway mine was still 13. After about a 20 minute wait for two people, We were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. I'm not sure if there was a plumbing issue, but there certainly was something going on that did not sit with our stomachs very well. There were candles lit so I assume that they know about this issue and this is not what this review is about because those types of things are not in the control of the restaurant. What is in control of the restaurant is the menu. Most of the time when you advertise as a Mediterranean restaurant you would have Mediterranean food. Instead, we were surprised with coconut shrimp, chicken, Parm, fettuccine Alfredo, and other dishes that just did not make any sense. Some did have a twist on a Mediterranean theme for lack of a better explanation however, we were disappointed to say the least. We saw that all the tables were getting bread so we didn't order an appetizer cause we weren't starving. But our table never got any. I double checked the menu and there was no bread bowl as an appetizer. I think we were just forgotten about. Our food was as if we were served in a hospital bed. The chicken was dry. Everything was flavorless, and the presentation was more of like we were an interruption of their day and slapped on the Plate. The coconut shrimp was on a bed of rotten lettuce, leaving an awful taste, and what could've been a decent meal for me. The prices do not match the quality of the food. My hope is that maybe there is a new employee who is lacking experience and will be taught. I'm wondering if maybe the menu changed after the hurricane to appeal to more people to get more business, which totally makes sense. I'll be willing to try again after the plumbing issues are fixed, and the staff has more training. The decor made absolutely no sense and neither to the music, but I guess that all doesn't really matter. All in all the food was awful. I cant say enough good thing about this place! It was so good we came here twice during our stay and honestly I could have eaten all my meals here and been more than satisfied! Everything we ordered was so fresh and delicious. We ordered a lot of seafood and all of it was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. My only complaint is that there isn't one close to home. I ordered the Octopus small plate and I specifically asked if it comes out with a nice char. I was insured it would, well it had very little char and had a very soft texture. This is not how it should be prepared and at 26.00 for a small plate it is way over priced. My wife had two appetizers that tasted like they were frozen and not prepared in house. This is the 2nd time we have been there and are very disappointed in the quality of food especially for the price. They need to get their act together to survive. First, let's start with the service... we sat at the bar and all of the bartenders could not have been more amazing than they were! David, Chris, and the rest of the crew were so attentive and accommodating. They'd ask what we were feeling and they make it. Then, the food happens to be in credible! The flu be cheese to start was awesome, as were the cauliflower bang, bang bites, the salad, chicken francaise, lobster mac & cheese, veal piccata, and all of the other versions of pasta and protein. The shrimp were plump, sautéed nicely, and colossal in size! The creamy sauce had a nice parmesan flavor with sun dried tomatoes and spinach incorporated in. The molten chocolate lava cake was just average. It was not very moist and had more of a fudge texture and flavors. The ice cream did help save it a little. The service was on par. Our waiter was friendly. The ambience of this restaurant is welcoming. They had live music the night I went which is always a nice surprise. I recommend a table near the back of the restaurant. My family and I ate at Taverna on the Bay for the first time. Much like most restaurants these days, they were very short staffed. The hostess who was very friendly, doubled as our server, which was not her typical position. We ordered Greek salads and feta bites for starters. The feta bites never arrived and we received Cesar Salads in place of Greek Salads. They did correct their mistake and brought the Greek Salads out eventually. We ordered Greek Pita's for our entree and grouper bites for our 7 year old. The Greek pitas were pretty good, but our son was not a fan of the grouper bites. They were more like fried fish filets than grouper bites, which is a major problem when dealing with a child. read more

The food came out wrong for both of my friends as the chicken they ordered came out as fish and the chicken parm the other one ordered came separated between the noodles and the actual chicken parm. I ordered the penne with vodka sauce which wasn't that good but the added chicken for 6 dollars definetly felt worth the value.
