Fire pits in front of inn

The newly reopened Creekstone inn is a stunner! We have stayed several times at the neighboring Grand Idyllwild Lodge and decided to try the Creekstone on this trip to Idyllwild. The remodel maintained the rustic charm of the previous inn, like the massive walls of large stones and ultra cool twisted wood bannister, while adding a modern, eclectic flair. The lobby has a bar, game area, and nice sitting area in front of a fireplace. Outside there are fire pits and rocking chairs. We were told there are plans to build an outdoor swimming pool. The rooms are quite large with the same mix of rustic and modern decor as the lobby. I especially love the bathrooms that have beautiful tile work. Our room had a large stone fireplace and a very comfy king bed with luxury linens. We faced the street and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The inn is located within walking distance of the quaint town of Idyllwild and is close to hiking trails. It's nice to have another upscale lodging option in Idyllwild and we would definitely stay at the Creekstone again on our next trip.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Idyllwild, CA and was charmed not only by the town, but by the quaint, eclectic flavor of the Creekstone Inn. The lobby comes equipped with a working gas fireplace, beer bar, and a beautiful vintage wooden shuffleboard table (more on woodwork in a minute). I really loved all the fabulous Halloween decorations! The mini-Elvis was only one of the many skeletons hanging out downstairs, some sitting, "drinking at the counter" and some doing yoga, really fun. As far as the woodwork goes, the gorgeous hand-carved staircase that led me upstairs to my room, was exquisitely crafted and impossible to ignore - there's a careful attention to detail here. The front door and room code locks were extremely easy to use, I've been in hotels where they are a nightmare. My accommodations were roomy and bright and the view of the mountains from my window was lovely. The blinds darkened the room enough for the mornings spent over-sleeping in the super comfy bed. I also thought that the white noise machine near the bed was a nice addition. The room had a cute reading area, a small fridge and coffee maker. The ice bucket was topped with an actual loose wine opener, which surprised me. The snacks offered here are not free, but they are plentiful and good (I loved the dark chocolate-covered caramels). In the bathroom, there was an impressive and spacious glass-partitioned shower, completed with subway tiles. Finally, l loved the sign behind the bed that says "Fun" surrounded by popcorn bulbs. Where do the owners get these awesome additions? I slept really well here and I will come back to the Creekstone again. I can only imagine how breathtaking both Idyllwild and this hotel must be at Christmas time.

Loved Creekstone Inn from the moment we walked in until the following day when we left. The hostess is so lovely. The rooms are clean and super cozy. I really did not want to leave our room. The Inn is for adults only and is a beautiful haven. The Inn has a lot of space for hanging outside of your room such as in the lobby, living room or front corridor. A truly special place that I honestly cannot wait to come back too. My favorite part of it is the location. High up in the San Bernardino Mountains away from the city. How romantic.

Very clean, comfortable stylish rooms and bed. We had a fridge/freezer as well. The rooms are "refreshed" meaning bed made and trash cans emptied. No clean towels! That was a disappointment.

Beautifully renovated from a rustic mountain inn. This mountain chic boutique hotel has attention to details and mixed modern chic with natural elements. The bed and bedsheets are 5 star hotel quality and up to date electronics with streaming channels. Free locally brewed blueberry mojito kombucha tap in the common area is a nice touch to a modern day trend. Still under construction for bar/restaurant area but no noise or dust. It's very serene and welcoming place.

A very easy and convenient virtual check in. Adorably cute space that has obviously been redone recently. We had a number to text for any questions or issues. The place was quiet and just a 5 min walk into town. Rooms were clean and comfortable. If I had to point out a complaint it would just be that the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors easily. And, our pillows became flat and unsupportive when you laid on them. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable though! I would definitely recommend and can't wait to visit again.

The Creekstone Inn is well decorated. Here is why I will NOT be staying there again: After booking, I received no confirmation email, and they waited until 1 day before my trip (when it's too late to cancel and get a refund) to tell us there is no front desk or staff on the property. First thing we see when we walk into our room is a highlighted document to sign with rules and policies not previously advertised. (As of today I've saved their relevant website provisions and nothing is advertised there either.) Housekeeping did not clean our room during our stay, but we still tipped when we checked out. Soon after checking out, I receive a receipt with two different charges for $45, one unexplained and one for a "damaged linen fee". I called and Michelle said there was a stain on the bedsheets (there was a small mark of blueberry sauce on the fitted bedsheet). I asked if they attempted to launder it, and Michelle said yes of course it has been. I asked her to send me photo after it was laundered. She me the attached photo, showing they hadn't even stripped the bed, let alone laundered it. She then told me they will send it to a professional laundering service which will return the item on 1/4/2023, and if they get it out, the charge will be reimbursed. Looks like they are just making this up as they go, as none of this was ever provided prior to charging my card. Michelle also promised a manager would call me on 1/4, but she refused to provide his contact information, or the owner's contact information. On 1/4, I received no contact from anyone, and they still have my money. If you're looking to stay at a place that values transparency and customer service, I would highly recommend you search elsewhere.

We stayed one night 2/20-2/21 and we didn't want to leave. This place is so cute, beds are very comfortable and the management was so nice. Can't wait to stay here again.

Review for the Woodland Park Cottages…read more PROS: - Beautiful scenery! - All kinds of wildlife in the area - Very quiet place to stay. Makes you feel like you're not in CA. - Pet friendly! - Close to downtown Idyllwild. - Cabins are comfortable and nestled in the woods. - Our cabin had a nice little patio deck with a table and chairs. - Cable television that also includes the Dodgers channel! - Full kitchen and bath. - The cabin also has air conditioning(not the best though). - This location has a pool, picnic area, BBQs, and even a ping pong table. - The cabin also felt pretty clean... for the most part. - The rates and prices are great! CONS: - The A/C unit (not central air) was kind of weak during the day when it got really hot. - The lounge chairs inside the cabin were kind of grody, especially the arm rests... - WIFI onsite, but it's really slow. PRO-TIP: - Just FYI, the kitchen sink DOES NOT have a garbage disposal. - Also, expect random thunderstorms during the summer. It was actually pretty cool to see and experience out in the mountains. - If you have VERIZON, the signal in certain parts of the complex is almost non existent.

The cabins are in the middle of beautiful, tall trees, a mini park, and pathways with wild flowers (summer). There's a flurry of activity from squirrels, chipmunks, bluejays, and woodpeckers. The family that owns it (Collin, Denise and Matt), is very friendly and accommodating. Downtown Idyllwild is walking distance from the cabins - slightly over a mile. If you like alpine settings, this is the right place. The cabins are duplexes with a large side and a smaller side. I take the large side as I prefer the large deck to enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, take photos, watch the wildlife, or just enjoy the scenery. This setting renews my soul.

Read my review. I am honest and thorough…read more Do NOT book your stay here. The photos of the RedWood room are misrepresenting what we walked into. The photos had 2 end tables with lamps on them, The tables and lamps were removed and replaced with cheap short metal tables with no lamps. TV required log-in ID and password that were not provided inadvance nor in any welcome manual. Texting the manager/representative provided that information that was incorrect. We hoped to watch the World Cup USA game on tv but the password they gave out was wrong. They did not indicate that their password (ldy2025) began with a Capital "I" (eye) NOT a lowercase "l" (el). We realized this the next morning, but game was over. Regardless, we couldn't watch TV in the anyway. There was only one large upholstered armchair. The chair was next to the TV and you could move the chair to face the tv but you would be 3-4 feet from the tv screen. I imagine both of us could sit on the edge of the bed. There is a small kitchen in the room with stovetop, sink, microwave and refrigerator, with NO TABLE. There was no desk. The only place to eat your prepared meal is on the bed, the ONE armchair or the flooor. The room was very dark until the neighbor arrived or chose to move their car. Outside one of the 2 windows was a car parked within 2 feet of our window. All activity with that vehicle (coming and going) was heard and seen, car headlights in the window and through the blinds. Ridiculous! The bathroom was horrible with badly repaired holes in the walls, cheap dingy vinyl floors, very small room with a large step up to a platform with the toilet and tub. This was odd and very uncomfortable. We own many properties listed on Airbnb and VRBO with over 20 experience and we know how to provide comfortable housing, to which the guest will want to return. This unfortunately is not one of them.
