The bar and restaurant has a staff meeting while customers are there waiting for service. The most important part of servicing your customer is the part where you service the customer. 5. The staff is constantly chatting to one another and not expecting any needs of their guest.. front desk is often on their cell phone. 6. The fries at the bar are okay - but they have so much garlic that they need to be served with an aioli or mayo based sauce instead of ketchup. You can tell this place is poorly managed and lacks structure and procedures it could be great and charming but it's just okay.

So...I decided to go with my old faithful La Quinta...and let me tell you...this place is good! Lots of spaces in the lobby to hang out. It has a pool and a well stocked little snack store. The staff is nice. They have a breakfast and you know it looked typical. Breakfast ends at 10 but it was nearly check out time (11am) and the food was still out at around 10:30. I asked if I was able to eat since it was still set up and the staff was cleaning up. Everything looked so fresh. I have to say this was the BEST breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. I mean, if I had gone to a breakfast restaurant that was sit down and I was served this plate. I would've happily paid for it. The potatoes were nice and spicy but not hot, the eggs were seasoned. The muffin wasn't dried out at all. There was also sausage bacon, a waffle station, bagels, biscuits, bread to toast, selection of juices and coffees. There was cereal. It was just really good. My room was clean and smelled good. I was having a really bad vacation my car broke down in the middle of nowhere. Anyway my situation requires me to stay another night overnight in St. George next week so I will absolutely be staying here...it was the breakfast that really sealed the deal. I was going to give this a five anyway even without the breakfast included, but that put it over the top. When I got to the front desk, the lady who was working, asked me if I had any special requests and I said yes I would like a room that doesn't have anyone next-door to it and close to an elevator and she was so accommodating and she found me the perfect room. I complained to management about most this (the stuff that's within their control) and got back a response taking no ownership of any of the issues. No elevator but the staircase was easy to negotiate. Our room was nice and clean. We had two queens, which we like when traveling. The bathroom and shower were small but the water was hot and the pressure was good. The bathroom fan worked well. The beds were not super comfortable, but good for one night. The AC was great. There is a healthy place to eat right across the street and other eateries within walking distance. Apparently there is a pool but we didn't use it. We will stay here again when passing through.

Upon arriving the front desk employees were genuinely welcoming to me and my dogs and continued to be throughout my stay. The facility is clean and new appearing, with the room spotless, spacious and very dog friendly. The location is in the beautiful red cliffs area, a 9 minute drive to the dog show located at the Washington County Legacy Park. For those folks who travel to shows with family members who may not enjoy shows, the scenic Zion Park is reportedly about 45 minutes away. The free breakfast is available at 6AM and, though not spectacular, it serves the purpose of an early meal. There is a designated dog potty spot, which could be larger, but comes equipped with plenty of poop bags. I would suggest the hotel provide more trash receptacles in other areas of the grounds. The room AC was easily adjustable to any temp, the room was spacious for dogs and crates and very quiet, especially considering other dogs were in nearby rooms. The king bed and pillows were very comfy! I highly recommend this hotel for those traveling with dogs!

We arrived really late at night, around 2:30-3:00 AM, and ended up standing outside the hotel entrance for about 10-15 minutes because nobody was at the front desk. We were calling the front desk number and nobody answered. Luckily, there happened to be another guest sitting in the lobby -- honestly a blessing at that hour -- and he let us inside so we weren't stuck outside in the cold. Even after getting inside, we still waited another 10 minutes or so before someone from the front desk finally showed up. We called the front desk number again while inside and still got no answer. Overall, it took close to 20-25 minutes just to see an attendant and get checked into the room. I stay at a lot of IHG hotels and have some level of membership with them, and at most locations it's pretty common to at least be greeted warmly or offered something simple like points or water bottles. Unfortunately, when the attendant finally showed up after the long wait, it honestly looked like she didn't care at all. I even asked if they had any water bottles available and she simply said no. She just didn't seem welcoming or interested in being there, which was disappointing considering a hotel front desk is a customer service role. Once we finally got into the room though, everything was fine and pretty standard with no other issues during the stay.

We stayed in suite 3 which offered an upstairs bedroom area. They are equipped with everything you would need and more for a relaxing family vacation. -The kitchen (in suite 3) had a mini fridge, microwave wave and small cooktop complete with utensils and cookware. There is also a Kurig with some complementary coffee. There is a bar dining table top with seating for 3 and a small round table with seating for 2. -The bedroom downstairs is combined with a small living room area with a couch, chair and TV for the family to come together and watch a movie. The bed is plush and great to sink into after a day of hiking. There is an overhead ceiling fan above the bed and a downstairs AC wall unit, both can be controlled with remotes. Under the stairs they also had luggage racks which we found helpful and kept our belongings more organized and out of the way. - The bathroom downstairs has a walk in shower, with plenty of towels and complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It was a nice touch that that they also had a separate make up towel and make up remover towelettes. - Upstairs, the bedroom area was just as cozy as the downstairs and the bed just as comfy. There was a small loveseat with TV (suite 3, may be different layout for the other 2 bedroom suite). The upstairs also has a wall mounted AC unit with is adjustable and an extra floor fan to circulate air to your desire comfort. - The outside offers just as many amenities as the inside with area for a fire pit completed with firewood (shared with the other guests) , your own grill with charcoal, and picnic and lounge area. It's beautifully lit up at night and great to sit out beneath the lights. The whole place is just bursting with farmhouse charm and we absolutely loved the time spent here. We can't wait to plan more vacations and additional stays at the Silos!
