Even after 12+ years of coming here, this remains as one of the top 5 bars of the city that I frequent and absolutely love. It's definitely more touristy but damn, I enjoy it nonetheless. I introduced my now husband to this place when we were dating and now it's one of his favorite places in the city as well. We more often than not strike up conversations with numerous patrons at the bar when we're there. It's such a pleasant and bright atmosphere that it's hard not to be sociable when there. I absolutely love the cocktails and vino selection here, and the food does not disappoint. I've tried most things on the menu and I can say I've not disliked anything. Bruce and Mikey are the best! I've stopped in here before for lunch and I remember the filet mignon being very good overall. Service was also great. This time was no exception. Service was again fantastic (my receipt says Bruce Y). Bruce (I hope that's his name!) was pleasant, suave, and gave a really calming vibe. I started with the Silly Midwicket, made with Bombay Sapphire, St Germain, rhubarb liqueur, grapefruit, basil. It was light and refreshing. One of the other bartenders was prepping some fresh basil (everything looked so fresh) and I was entranced by the smell. So I asked Bruce to make me something light and basil heavy. He didn't tell me the name of the drink, but the receipt says, "fresh linen," which the menu says has Hendrick's, basil, cucumber, egg white, lemon. Crosby offers many flavor profiles with several types of liquor and accompaniments. Tequila, fresh herbs, chartreuse, fruity flavors like watermelon, fresh raspberries. Joe is a great waiter. I stopped in for a glass of wine or two or three. The highlight of the place was the environment. The music was a very diverse and entertaining mix, but not so.loud as to not hear yourself think. The furniture makes you feel as though you're in someone's living room rather than just another commericial place in Manhattan. This will definitely be a future study spot. read more

I've been coming here awhile now and usually come about five times a year for breakfast. I still love it. HOWEVER, the last two times were odd with seating rules very early when it was empty. First time, I asked for the glass room which is near the garden. I was told it wasn't open yet. Ten minutes later I see people being seated there. This past week, I asked to sit outside and was placed in the back area ( not the pretty garden) and no one was seated there it was empty ( both spots ) I asked the waiter could I move to the garden area, he tells me oh that's for hotel guests. I think that's odd I was never asked if I was staying here when I checked so how would they know? Very weird rules that seemed made up the last few times. I can see if it was full but it wasn't even when I left. Also on Sundays drinks aren't served until 10 am. read more

We've been coming to the Crosby Bar for years. They never disappoint. This was the first time we ordered afternoon tea. We were a group of seven. Lots of different teas are available. I had English breakfast. Food is served on tiered plateaus. Sandwiches. On the first level and sweets on the top. All the little sandwiches were great and a few outstanding. My favorite was a flavor filled chicken salad with a close second being. Ham and soft cheese. Sweets were also first rate best was a macaroon. We were there for about two hours and had a wonderful time. At least four different workers took care of us, waitress drink servers more tea specialists and clearers. Even though the restaurant was full and very busy, we were treated excellently. The place is always beautiful and was decorated tastefully for the holidays. Any one can come eat at the Crosby Street Hotel restaurant, but only guests can come eat in The Drawing Room. In the name of exclusivity, we took advantage of being able to have an entire beautiful room to ourselves. Only drawback here is there isn't an ideal place to eat in the Drawing Room, there's no typical dining tables. There's couches with coffee tables but then you have to hunch over. There's one small dining table in the middle but you feel like you're eating on a piece of art since the table isn't level. If you have more than 3 people I would just eat with everyone else in the main dining room. As far as the menu goes, I had a really hard time deciding what to order since so much looked good. I landed on the Shakshuka and wasn't disappointed. For shakshuka theirs was on the simpler side, just the sauce and eggs, but simple doesn't mean bad! It was packed full of flavor and the service was good. Some reservations include breakfast (ours did!) and this was probably the best included breakfast I've ever had at a hotel so I can totally see how this hotel has a Michelin acknowledgment. Someone in my group got the Lox bagel, and if I ever come back I know for a fact that's what I'm getting -- it was HUGE and it looked so good. I first discovered this place when visiting for high tea for my friends bachelorette, and since then it's become my favorite spot in NYC for high tea! Came again with my mom a few weeks ago and we shared their delicious tower of treats (my favorites are their ham and mustard sandwich, and of course the scones!) I got the earl grey and mom got the chai tea, which were both lovely. The ambience is bright, modern, and elevated, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just a nice treat. The servers are incredibly welcoming and will even refill any of your favorite treats for no added charge. We ended up with a good amount to take home as well. It comes out to about $75pp, which is a little steep but honestly one of the better value high tea rates in the city for the quality and ambiance! The hotel also has the most beautiful and luxurious bathroom, so it makes for a great pit stop for a long day out exploring the city! read more

My friend celebrated her birthday here, and it was a really cute and unique space. We were seated right away and the cocktail menu was pretty extensive. We all ordered cocktails and everyone really enjoyed their drinks. They also had a sizable food menu with bar snacks along with a full menu to choose from. We ordered a number of items including the shishito peppers, the French onion soup, the Mac and cheese, the charred brocollini and the wasabi shrimp. While I didn't try everything, the things that I did try were pretty decent. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake, the chocolate lava cake and the salted caramel ice cream. The ice cream and the lava cake were my favorites from the bunch. Came here for a light dinner and drinks with a few friends. The interior is stunning and the staff even encouraged us to go and explore the various leisure rooms nearby the main entrance. We ordered for drinks the vegas heist, yuzu crush (non alcoholic) and bloody mary. The drinks were all thoroughly enjoyed. For food we had the bolognese, roasted chicken. There were no complaints there, except that the bolognese felt a little low on flavour saturation. We shared the chocolate cake which was the perfect finish to the night. The Crosby Bar has solid drinks and food in a great ambiance- what's not to love? Yes it is a bit pricey but it's worth it IMHO. I had a hot toddy (it was cold I had to) and the whiskey paloma (solid and a different twist to a classic). My friend and I also got the burgers (with cheese of course) and it was quite tasty. Afternoon tea has been an obsession this year for me, so you can imagine my delight when I walked into this colorful Vibey establishment after a long week at work. It comes with an option to add champagne if you want which both my friend and I skipped. You get a pot of tea of your choosing, I went with the Assam chai. Chai was made very well, with warm notes and tons of spices as promised in the menu. I especially loved the bright orange color as I poured it out. The cutlery is beautiful, and I loved the little strainer for my teacup that came on the side. I think that was such a thoughtful touch. I was especially drawn to the finger sandwiches, because those are always a highlight for me and a true mark of finesse at any tea establishment. All the sandwiches tasted fresh and delicious and were a great size. The cucumber and hummus sandwich could be jazzed up a little bit, maybe an addition of cream cheese? The coronation chicken sandwich was delicious and well spiced and I also really like the shrimp salad sandwich. Manchego sandwich had a generous amount of cheese, but it was not my favorite maybe because I just don't like jam in my sandwiches. The scones were absolutely delicious, especially the cranberry scone. They were the perfect size, unlike a lot of other places that serve mini scones. The regular scone was also delicious although just a little bit on the dense side. The accompaniments that came along were very good as well. I especially liked the mini desserts on top, the cheesecake bites were delicious, and the lavender macaron was my absolute favorite, it was bursting with flavor and tasted super fresh. Overall, I think this is a really great high tea experience, and totally worth the money. Our server was generous enough to top up our pots with hot water, so we kind of got a second pot of tea as well. I left here feeling pretty full and satisfied. The manager and waitstaff all went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to celebrate this special day, and even sent over a complimentary pastry to commemorate the occasion. I'd never been to high tea before and always thought the amount of food you get looked scare on those tiny tiered plates. Not so at The Crosby Bar. Each set comes with four giant fresh baked scones with fresh butter, apricot and strawberry jams, eight sandwiches that include an egg salad, cucumber and cream cheese, ham and mustard, and white fish. The top tier with desserts range from tiramisu to guava, meringue, chocolate cake and macaroons. If you want more, just say so and they'll bring some over. The tea service comes in decorative tea pots and a strainer that fits just right over the decorative tea cups. I tried the peppermint and green teas which were fragrant and tasty. We opted for the high tea option that comes with a glass of champagne (around $85 per person). Yes, it's a little pricey. Located in the aptly named Crosby Street Hotel, this modern stylized restaurant/bar is beautiful to walk in and around. Touches of modern flair mixed in with eclectic wall paper, paintings, statues and lighting give it a 60's Pan Am energy that I am really digging. We decided to start with Tuna Tartare and Mussels. Both were lovely, but nothing especially unique that you would not find anywhere else. I have to say, the serving size was surprisingly large, plenty for us to share. The waiter was quite enthusiastic about the burger and pushed me away from the Steak Frites and to the classic burger. This was a mistake, as my buddy ordered the steak and it looked and tasted wonderful and the burger was a solid meh at best. I asked for it medium and it came out well, and really it was not a great mix for the patty, kind of flavorless. And even though I can't pinpoint the exact reason, the bun just seemed off also. All in all it was not as great as I expected or hoped. I angrily watched my friend eat his steak with so much joy on his face this almost turned into a Lifetime movie - Stabbed for His Steak (not a pun). I did have a bourbon and an old fashioned at from the bar. Bourbon obviously was great, and the old fashioned was made perfectly. All in all it was a good experience. Came here for a surprise birthday shower. Because there were 7 of us, we made the reservation two weeks beforehand to ensure we had seating. This is my first time here and I liked it. It was a good call as it allowed me to taste best of both worlds. The burger is tasty and comes with fries. I also asked for bacon on the side. My friend and I came here for afternoon tea. The interior decor was lovely with pretty colorful lights hanging in the bar area and cool, unique art work. There was a nice, warm ambiance with orange, yellow, and brown color scheme. I got to try the Mythical Creatures tea by Wedgwood, as well as Second Flush Muscatel Darjeeling by The Rare Tea Company. I think I preferred the Darjeeling, which was a black tea with a floral aroma, with notes of caramel and muscatel grapes. There was a bold, yet balanced and delicate flavor profile. Mythical Creatures tea consisted of oolong, sunflower & cornflower blossoms, along with mango. This had a very refreshing and bright taste. The 3 tiered plate of scones, sandwiches, and desserts looked impressive. I liked how the portion sizes were more generous than most afternoon tea services. There were 2 different types of scones with clotted cream and preserves. One was regular, while the other had bits of fruit and other spices. Both were yummy, buttery, and flaky. They were also quite filling. There were 4 types of sandwiches. My favorite was definitely the chicken salad with truffle and thinly sliced Parmesan. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. There was also a strong flavor of truffle. I also enjoyed the poached salmon sandwich with lemon and dill mayonnaise. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the accompanying ingredients worked well together. The cucumber with cream cheese was simple, but still pretty good. I didn't care much for the roasted vegetable sandwich though, as it was kind of bland and boring. As for the desserts, I liked the dark and white chocolate parfait best. This was layered with chocolate cream, chocolate cake, and white chocolate cream. It was delightfully creamy, sweet, and rich. The pumpkin layer cake was also enjoyable, with a wonderfully crispy crust and fresh pumpkin filling. There were also a mini vanilla cake with whipped topping and chocolate macarons with fig ham, which were decent. The vanilla cake was moist and the whipped cream was a nice touch. The macarons were a bit too sweet though. There was also supposed to be sour cherry tart, but it wasn't available, which was unfortunate because I was looking forward to trying it. The service was solid in the beginning. We received our tea and food in a timely manner, but after that it was difficult to get the attention of the waiter and other staff. There was also no way to keep our tea warm throughout our time. If we wanted more tea, hot water was added to the tea pot, which compromised the integrity of the tea. It looks like the afternoon tea menu changes seasonally, which is neat. For example, on the current holiday menu, the eggnog panna cotta with amarena cherry and panettone crumbles sounds soo good! However, I thought the price of $60 per person for the afternoon tea was a little steep, so I don't plan on returning. read more
