There's an elevator in the alley outside, but we ended up taking the elevator inside the main lobby of The Moxy, which worked perfectly. Don't let the navigation stress you out; it's worth the effort once you get there. The vibe is a really cool blend of lounge and restaurant -- relaxed enough to linger, but polished enough to feel like a night out. We opted for three small plates and one large plate to share, which turned out to be a great way to sample the menu. Everything was well done and kept us wanting more bites. If you're a whiskey or bourbon fan, you'll be in heaven -- the selection is impressive and one of the clear highlights. Our server was friendly, clearly knew the menu inside and out, and did a great job staying attentive on what was a very busy Saturday night. GREAT ROOFTOP RESTAURANT! We had a great time, the restaurant is so open that even if you aren't on the patio you still enjoy the breeze and view of the outside. Drinks were yummy. All food tasted good. A highlight of the night was the calamari and shrimp. Maybe it's a bit of a reading comprehension issue, but for the bao buns we (a table of 5 people) all read the number 5 and thought it meant it came with 5 bao, but it was actually for 2 bao and the menu meant 5 spice as in 5 spices. I feel like the menu should reword the description to remove the number 5, or be more clear that it actually comes with 2 especially for the price!!!! The description literally started with the number 5, which makes it confusing. This place ain't cheap, and I do like to splurge. Service didn't seem to match the price point of this restaurant, service should be high end with high end prices. All in all, I'd come again but it's not my favorite choice in downtown Asheville. read more

This rooftop spot at the Moxy Hotel comes with a stunning view, especially around sunset--definitely plan your visit for golden hour. The host wasn't particularly welcoming, but our server was so kind and very sweet. On Mondays, they offer chef specials, so I went with the wagyu burger, which comes with fries and your choice of their house beer or wine. For $15, it's a deal you really can't beat. I chose the house rosé, and it was pretty good. The burger changes weekly, so keep that in mind. The one I had was their Big Mac-inspired version with a beef patty, Thousand Island dressing, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The meat was cooked just how I like it, and I was glad I ordered it since I originally came hoping to try the New York strip. The menu leans Asian-inspired, and the Crispy Fried Calamari and Shrimp was outstanding. My husband had the Chilean sea bass and it was excellent. The fish was fresh, and the flavors complemented each other beautifully. Cocktails were also well made. Reservations are recommended. read more

View is absolutely gorgeous. Design and look of the space is beautiful with a lot of thoughtful elements. Restaurant is separate from the hotel so bring credit card etc if staying in hotel. You can not charge to the room. So no Bonvoy points either fyi. Spouse had a beer on draft and liked it. Their main menu is where to look for what is on tap. Apparently the drinks menu is out of date and what he originally wanted was no longer on tap. Spouse says not a destination to go to for beer but it is fine. I ordered the carrot cake. I had looked it up and the restaurant before our trip. It sounded really lovely. The reality was unpleasant. The cake itself was more of a gingerbread cake texture and taste. The miso crème fraiche was a huge swing and a miss for me. It was overly salty to the point that was all that you tasted. I tried a nip of that separate from putting on the cake and it was like a salt lick. I'm not averse to deconstruction and creating a new flavor experience but the carrot cake was truly terrible. I had maybe 3 bites and set it to the side. There was not a thing redeeming about the entire dish. I like balanced flavors and this wasn't nuanced or pleasant. It's an aggressive salty no. It has none of the features that are beloved about a carrot cake. Server was lovely and thoughtful bringing water out for us both when bringing out my spouse's beer. Visit on 12/30/26 - This place was awesome. It was located at the Moxy in the heart of Asheville, and had a very contemporarys and relaxing atmosphere. I beleive our server was named Genaveve or something to that effect. She recommended that I try some Japanese soda water, which was great and a peculiar after taste that I had never experience. She recommended the lamb, which was amazing, and I dined on the salmon..... I don't drink, but if you are a drinker, this is good place to chill and try some well crafted cocktails. They had an expansive menu. Also, we had some complimentary dessert, since I couldn't resist telling the staff that it was my girlfriend's birthday despite being told repeatedly before we arrived not to do so and not to draw unwanted attention to her. In closing, our next trip we will stay at the Moxy so we can come downstairs and eat here and order in room dining from their kitchen. read more

My friends and I came here because we wanted to go to a rooftop bar for sunset. It's on the top floor of the Moxy hotel. I highly recommend making reservations if you want a table and food as it gets pretty packed. You can still get a drink at the bar and walk around though without reservations which is what we did. Bar is first come first serve for seating and you can get food there as well. We all got espresso martinis which were so yummy. Views were really pretty. Can't wait to return to this cozy, welcoming space with a great view! You enter from the street and walk into the hotel and take the elevator up to Wildwood Still. As soon as we left the elevator we were welcomed by staff. We already had dinner, so let the staff know we were just going to have drinks. They sat us in the most cozy, lounge space! The chairs were so comfy and right next to the windows! The drink menu has a great cocktail list. We tried several and all were delicious! Staff were friendly and attentive. We were here when the weather was cold, so didnt get to take advantage of the open windows and outdoor patio space. I cannot say enough positive about this space! It is warm, inviting and has modern decor. My favorite part was that there are tables if you are eating, but the space is so large there are plenty of small lounging areas with modern and cozy chairs. The lighting is perfect and sets the mood! There is also a large bar near the entrance. I walked out to the patio and it has such a great view of Asheville! Plenty of seating and fire pits. It looks like they have tall door/windows that slide open. I would love to come back when the weather is warmer! We had such a nice night here and would definitely return! read more

I made the reservation earlier in the week and once I got to the hotel, I loved being able to just go upstairs for dinner. I was seated immediately and had the most beautiful view of the mountains. It was absolutely beautiful and very low key. My waiter, Ryan, was such a sweet person and gave great recommendations and was consistent with checking in on me. I will admit, I was skeptical on the chicken, but it was absolutely delicious! The calamari and shrimp was seasoned well, and I was able to not have spice. I wanted to continue the experience, so I ordered the carrot cake, and surprisingly, it was amazing with the sauce. The drink was absolutely great and flavorful that I ended up getting 2. Soon after I was done with my meal, I was ready to shower and go to bed. If you're ever in town and wanting a great meal, this is the place to try! 10/10 I recommend! read more

Asheville is taking a real downward slide. When this place opened all was great. Had a terrific view, great food and so cool. Staff is still wonderful and friendly but the food is awful. The Wagu beef smash burger was hammered and not in a good way. Not crispy, obviously frozen and reminded me of cardboard. Fries were just okay. It was a beautiful evening and all the windows were closed. Two doors open. No air flow. And even though it was practically empty they gave us the worst table in the house. I was sweltering when the food arrived. What did I do wrong? I took someone who had never been and I doubt he will go back. Maybe it's just the economy. read more

I signed my wife and I up for a tasting event and when that event was cancelled due to the rep being sick, I was immediately contacted and offered a full refund and a complimentary cocktail that we would have received as part of the tasting if we wanted to dine with them that evening. We did. The space is great, nice views of the mountains and some of Asheville's iconic buildings. Upscale and modern, but comfortable. The food was legit. Both types of oysters were excellent - the chilled were the best. The mushrooms were tasty. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and the wilted bok choy was a perfect compliment. My wife's wagyu burger was just right. I didn't love the eggplant dish, but that's probably a bit of me having a tenuous relationship with eggplant. No issues with any of our drinks. They have a great whisk(e)y list. The service was attentive, even though it was obvious our server had most of the tables in the restaurant that evening. She was very friendly throughout. Service: Our server was sprinting back and forth between several tables so it took her a bit to get back to us on several occasions, but that was alright with us since we were not in a hurry. Food: The food took about 20 minutes to get to the table. Appetizers: Gyoza (Pork) and King Salmon Crudo (citrus, cucumber, vidalia onion, macadamia nut, tamari, lime, wonton chips) Both appetizers were delicious, and I'd absolutely order both of them again! When I come to fancy places I have high hopes but this one failed me. They have one vegan option and hardly can make anything vegan off their menu. I asked the server and she said this tomato dish and I mean it's really really bad. Edamame beans are good though. Service was incredibly slow from the bar (maybe add a couple more bartenders on the weekend?) Food was good, but $13 for 2 Bao Buns - I think not!! It's a tourist joint, so I get the high prices. Others in our party had the same problem. Finally we found a wine they had but server brought me the wrong wine. They did not charge me for that and eventually brought the wine I ordered. This is our second time eating at this restaurant. The first time was on Mother's Day, where our daughter was charged the full price for all nine meals as she made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. She was not notified that they would be charging her full price at that time. The second time we brought 11 people to celebrate a 50th birthday. When we walked in with a small cake we were told there would be a $24 cutting charge. Never in our lives have we experienced that. Then they would not separate checks for the 11 of us and one person was stuck with an $800 check. That doesn't happen in other restaurants. There were a few mixed up orders at our table also. I don't think we'll be back. By the way, we took the cake to a local bar to listen to their bluegrass band and their delightful waitress brought napkins and utensils so we could celebrate with our cake. At NO charge. My wife and I stopped in during our anniversary weekend to check this place out. We did enjoy the views. We got in around 8pm. Just in time to catch the sunset. Really nice experience. Definitely worth checking out. We ordered the bone marrow and lemongrass shrimp. These were pretty great. I'd definitely recommend those if you stop by. The drink service was pretty terrible though. We ordered their flirting with flames cocktail and a glass of brut rose. It took about 30mins for us to get the drinks. We received and finished all of our food prior to getting our drinks . Our server came up to us after we were waiting for about 20mins and said " Sorry, we're looking for wine glasses". That was a little weird. When our drinks finally came we were already pretty annoyed. The rose was flat and the cocktail just tasted like pineapple juice. We paid our bill and left. Probably not going back.
