To be honest I love staying at IHG group hotels and why I'm a club member and always look for a IHG hotel to stay in. We just stayed at the Crown Plaza in Harrogate for 2 weeks for the second time, right before we came down to London. It was amazing, the staff was beyond professional. Check in was easy and everyone throughout the stay was incredible. The TV worked, the bathrooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the rooms service was amazing. My big mistake... booking at IHG hotel Indigo in Tower Hill. We booked here because it was close to Eataly and it was part of the IHG family which I trust and we only had one night to enjoy in London. We went to check in and Natty who helped us was the least unprofessional and the most rude. We had booked a room for two and my sister had missed her plane last minute. So I said she could stay the one night with us until she could get the next flight out the following day. I tried to explain this to the man at the check in. He said absolutely not in very rude terms. I understand this was probably a silly hotel policy and not the staffs fault, so I agreed but understandably was frustrated. I paid £180 for the extra room, so my sister had somewhere to sleep. Even after paying for the extra room Natty at check in was still condescending and rude to us. The woman working behind the desk was amazing and was trying to help, but Natty just brushed her aside and kept being rude. Not wanting to engage further unhinged the employee as we all left. It was noon when we left our bags which they said would be taken to our rooms and went to lunch until 3pm check in. We came back around 5pm and thankfully the check in staff had changed. We asked for the two rooms keys and the staff on that shift were so professional and helpful. We were on the 5th floor and the second room I had been forced to booked for my student sister was on the 7th. (We were never told on checking in that the 7th floor was only accessible by one floor of stairs) We came up to the 5th floor where they said the bags should be and there were no bags. My wife and I had two heavy bags because we had been traveling for two weeks and my sister had a small bag she packed for a two day trip. Not seeing the bags in my room I thought maybe they were taken to my sister's room on the 7th floor. So we tried to make our way to the 7th floor. In doing so we realized the elevator only goes up to the 6th floor and you need to take the stairs to the 7th. Once in the room, all our bags were there. Figuring this was some kind of pay back Natty who obviously had something against us. I decided to carry our very heavy bags down the stairs to the elevator on the 5th floor. My only guess to why our bags were not left on the 5th floor is a mean joke played on us by the unprofessional check in man. I have a bad back so this wasn't easy. After we got to our room, myself and my wife just wanted to forget about it all. We got changed and went to dinner with my sister at Terra in Eately. It was amazing we really suggest it. We came back to the room and tried to watch tv. The only thing that came up was DTV 1, the TV didn't work. Again I think another prank from the guy that checked us in. It was already 930pm and my back was hurting for carrying the bags down the stairs so we just went to bed and not call down to complain. On waking up the we decided to take a shower and the mold on the bottom of the shower pan and the ceiling somehow so neither one of us wanted to take a shower. And with day light we could see how bad the stains were on the carpets. I have to say the IHG Indigo hotel Tower Hill is the most disappointing hotel I have ever stayed at in the IHG family. I was forced to pay for a second room because my sister missed her flight. Then we were bullied by Natty who sent all our heavy bags to a floor where he knew we weren't all staying because he knew we would need to carry them down. Then we had a TV that didn't work, which I'm guessing he knew as well plus I'm sure he gave us the dirtiest room because this is not how IHG hotels are in my experience. All in all it was a pretty terrible stay for me, my sister and my wife I'm sorry to say. IHG I know you can do better we saw it at the Crown Plaza in Harrogate!

I was worried that the room would be noisy considering it was next to a church, but I heard zero noise. CONS: Just one. Why does the bathroom have a frosted door. Never do this. I don't want to know anything going on in the bathroom. All that being said, absolutely stay here. The staff, service, and room were fantastic. NOTES: The nearest station, Mansion House, DOES NOT have a lift/elevator. If you have luggage, or anything heavy, this will be a nightmare dragging them up the stairs.

I originally booked the St Ermins again, but then thought it may be fun to switch it up and stay in a new area of London. A friend/travel agent recommended The Marylebone Hotel, which met all of our requirements: - easy to get around in London - fairly priced by London standards - good shopping/restaurant area We arrived a little cranky from our flight in Edinburgh after a 2 hour Uber from the airport. They greeted us warmly and even told me they had an upgrade for me, although ran out of upgraded for my friend which didn't make her happy. To be fair our rooms were right next to each other and I didn't see a difference so don't think mine was really "upgraded" The rooms like most in London were small. We had 2 twin beds pushed together. It was basically like sleeping in one big bed, but we had our own set of covers which made my 13 year old happy. Everything was very clean and nice, but small. The attached gym was great. It seemed to be a popular local gym so was quite crowded, but if there was room in classes hotel guests could join. I did a leg class one day, which I enjoyed...although got a great leg workout just walking miles and miles around London everyday. The surrounding area was so cute - filled with boutiques (some unique to London and other popular back in the states). There were lots of little cafes to grab a treat as well. We spent a lot of time in covenant garden to see shows on this trip, which was quite the walk but great way to get exercise. And when we returned from the craziness of covenant garden it was nice to be in a quiet area. Breakfast was included in our daily rate. The buffet was adequate and I enjoyed eggs and coffee from the menu. We also received a $50 room credit, which we used to raid the mini bar the last day for some airplane snacks. I thought St Ermins was the perfect pick for my family's first trip to London since it was right next to the tube and near so many sites, but this hotel worked out perfectly for a mother daughter eating, shopping and shows adventure.

The bed was pretty comfy and there was a small closet spot where you you could store/hang things up. Even though it was a space-saving, I think two people are the max that will fit, and when you add in two luggages, the quarters can feel cramped. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Depending on where you are, you might hear some street noise from the surrounding pubs, but they provide earplugs just in case. Staff were all super welcoming and friendly. If we had any questions they were super fast to assist or provide recommendations. We didn't end up using the hotel internet because we didn't quite understand the privacy policy and what we were agreeing to, so we just used our hotspot we ordered ahead of time. The large bowl-shaped sink takes up most of the counter so you are forced to squeeze in your stuff uber and around the bowl. Sadly, the faucet BARELY makes it over the edge of the bowl so when you wash your hands, water goes everywhere and ends up spreading around the counter and gets your toiletries wet! Ugh!! That one detail is definitely not up to the normal Hotel Indigo standard in my opinion. Whoever designed the bathroom should never be hired again! This should be a 3 star review based on that. But.... The saving grace was the front desk and the maintenance guy. We quickly discovered that our safe didn't work. The front desk got the maintenance guy to our room quickly and he reset it. When we were ready to leave, it failed again so they summoned the maintenance guy again. He reset it but it failed again. So he proceeded to replace the safe. Those things are HEAVY!!! The poor guy had to lug it up from downstairs, unbox it, take out the old one, install the new one and then lug the old one back downstairs!! This guy was sweating profusely but handled everything so professionally. So kudos to him and the front desk for making this happen so quickly, thus the 4 stars!!

As part of a press trip with VisitBritain, I was privy to check into this quaint 82 room collection of seven Georgian townhouses and two mew homes. I arrived earlier than scheduled, so since my room was not ready, I was advised to take a load off and take full advantage of their study located in the lobby area. I was able to plug in and use their (quick) Wi-Fi, which was great since I need to get some work done. When my room was available the bell boy was quick to grab my luggage and show me to my room. Upon entering where I would be resting my weary bones after a long night of flying, I was pleasantly surprised (...and for a good reason). The standard room in which was booked into was immaculate (although it was also a month old, so I would hope so) and was very inviting. The room included such great features as: Complimentary wireless internet access, which was super fast and always kept me connected. Complimentary Nespresso machine and Jina tea, which I did not use, but it looked nice. Complimentary soft drink bar, which I did use quite often during my stay. It was stocked with a six pack of coca cola, orange juice, apple juice, milk, champagne and two beers. All included in your rate! Flat screen television with Sky HD package that includes foreign channels. Want to watch a movie? Then head downstairs and borrow a DVD to use in your room's DVD player. Internet radio was next to my bed but did not work when I tried to use it. Also doubles as an iPod/iPhone dock. US and European adapters in the room, which came in handy since I had forgotten mine at home. Laptop sized safe. Super soft and comfortable beds with great comforters and pillows. Plus the best feature of all...a television in the bathtub! If you can pry yourself from your room, then head downstairs to The Arch London's beautifully decorated and extremely delicious restaurant called HUNter 486. One evening for dinner I ordered the steak tartare with a quail egg and french fries and was in culinary bliss. So perfectly prepared and all that goodness was washed down with a local English stout that was recommended by one of the restaurant's managers. Enjoy some afternoon tea (or a few adult cocktails) in the super cozy Martini Library, located on the lobby floor. The Arch London is centrally located to all that London has to offer. You are within walking distance to such attractions as Hyde Park (which is just down the block), numerous cafes, trendy Oxford Street and the Marble Arch Underground station. Although it is still working out very minor kinks, which is natural for any new hotel, The Arch London is simply brilliant and definitely worth a stay the next time you are in London. For all you gym rats out there, and I am surely not one of them, The Arch London also offers a gym on the property. Location: Super convenient in the Marylebone neighborhood and also very close to Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Arrival: The hotel is on a quiet street where you can pull up easily in front and unload. Bellman: The bellman are all very friendly and helpful. Parking: N/A - we did not drive. Reception/Front Desk: The reception is located directly to the left as you enter the hotel. There are 2 to 3 people sitting at reception and are all friendly and willing to help. Lobby: The lobby is small, but quaint with a sitting room and also off to the side is another smaller room. Room: Our room was located on the fifth floor. It was a nice size and was very comfortable. View: We were looking out to the backs of homes so nothing too exciting. Bed: Very comfortable. Desk: Very functional. Bathroom: Very functional with a bathtub and shower in the bath. Hair dryer: Nice normal hair dryer that was found in the dresser. Products: Malin + Goetz products - yay! Coffee Maker: There was a Nespresso in the room - yay! Closet: Normal size closet. Safe: Traditional hotel safe located in the closet. Control Panel: No control panel and regular TV remote control. Minibar: Regular mini bar, but the one thing that I was excited about was that it also had milk for your coffee. Nice job Arch London because so many hotels do not do that. Mirrors: Large mirror in the closet door and also in front of the desk. Housekeeping: Housekeeping was the only weak link at the hotel. I left the hotel early in the morning a and returned back at 2:30 PM assuming that our room would have been cleaned by then. I walked in and it wasn't cleaned so I called the front desk. Someone did come quickly to start cleaning the room in which I then left to sit in the lobby which wasn't ideal. When I came back to the room it was clean but a couple of things were not replaced in the bath room such as towels and amenities. Wifi: Good speed. Dining: They have one restaurant with in which they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spa/Gym/Pool: We did not make use of any of the spa or the gym. The hotel does not have a pool. Concierge: Friendly and helpful. Style: Modern, but yet still traditional. Service: Overall the service is good. Dog Friendly? Yes, very dog friendly. The cost is £15/day. They provide you with a bed and food and water bowl. They also have a doggy menu if you would like to order room service for your dog. One thing to note is that you are not allowed in the restaurant with your dog, but they have two alternate rooms (the sitting room off the lobby and also the library) where you can sit with your dog and also order from the restaurant. They will come and serve you there which is great! Would I go back? Yes, because overall it was a good location, nice rooms, reasonably priced, and was dog friendly.
