Ate here today on Saturday am. Very very busy! We knew what we wanted and ordered beverages and breakfast when we first sat down. Waitress told us the kitchen was backlogged but we decided to wait. Took 10 minutes to get our beverages. We waited and I read. Food came a split order of 8 oz chicken fry steak split. The gravy was unbelievably bland and lacked any seasoning, or meat product or flavor! The steak had a thick batter that was under fried and seasoned and primarily tasted of flour! The hash browns were crispy fried and requested. The toast had an odd flavor and not of butter but a commercial faux spread! The poached eggs were fine. Upon reaching home I had a case of the galloping trots for two hours. NEVER AGAIN and I have eaten here 23 years through three owners! read more

I had the Country Scramble, my husband had chicken fried steak. We both had eggs over easy, they were cooked PERFECT! The biscuits light and fluffy, the homemade breakfast sausage so delicious! We've been wanting to come to DeeDee's for a while. We're sure glad that we stopped in this morning! We received a very warm, friendly greeting, and all of the staff were very nice right out of the gate. We opted to sit outside as we brought our dog, Jack, with us. That said, our awesome server indicated that if Jack was well behaved, we could sit inside. (We opted to stay outside, just in case any of our fellow diners didn't want to eat with our dog.) It was a busy Sunday morning, but despite that, we received very quick and efficient service. Our server was nice, friendly, and attentive and definitely an excellent server. You could tell that she was experienced, which makes all the difference when serving a house full of hungry diners! The food was delicious! We both ordered omelette combos, along with a half order of biscuits and gravy to share. Holy smokes! Everything was great and we licked our plates clean. WOW! We pass through Valley Springs a few times a year on our way up to Mountain Ranch. We sometimes stop on our way at the Mar-Val market. Never realized Dee Dee's Café since it's set back a bit from the parking lot and their main entrance is on the side of the building. We discovered Dee Dee's the other day when we stopped to get burritos at the taco truck in the Senders Ace parking lot. A lady from Senders was also waiting for food and we got to talking and she recommended Dee Dee's for breakfast or lunch. We happen to be working on a project in Wallace and decided to head over and have a late breakfast one morning. Upon entering this classic little diner Café, we were greeted by everyone working there. We were given menus and offered coffee right away. The menu isn't too extensive but many classic breakfast dishes so you can't go wrong. The food is basic good breakfast food. French toast was great. And I always judge a good restaurant that has Cholula on the table. Coffee was hot and tasted great. The customer service was over-the-top amazing. Lexi was our hostess in server and she made the visit absolutely enjoyable. if you can't have a good meal here... it's probably you. Sorry not sorry. Decided to pop in for a quick bite at DeeDee's and was greeted very pleasantly. Thought I would just try the hamburger lunch special. Was a good meal even though my waitress brought me a salad after I clearly asked for French fries. Turned out it probably was a better voice, I won't fault her for that. She did get my drink order correct which is usually where it gets mixed up. I always ask for no ice and she came through like a Champ! Was and enjoyable meal. read more

Don't sit outside- you will be SWARMED by flies. Watered down coffee. French toast was not good. Not fluffy at all, just basic wheat bread. Chicken fried steak looked like a frozen patty heated up. Gravy was not homemade with just chunks of a link sausage. I will say the link sausage by itself was good. Daughter's Mickey pancake was cute and tasty. Terrible, extremely slow service. Not very clean. We walked in and stood around, waiting to be seated or told to sit anywhere. The staff just stared at us until I caught a server who said to sit wherever. 10 minutes go by and the kid who was doodling on a note pad, talking to coworkers and counting his tips came by to get our drink order. I dismissed his lack of service since maybe he was on break, I was hungry and the other options in the area were limited. He gave us menus and walked off to continue his f-Kery behind the counter (clearly not on a break). I can't review the food since he took our drink order and after 8 minutes (yes, I set a 10 minutes or I'm leaving timer like a grumpy old lady) returned to our table WITHOUT THE DRINKS to ask if we were ready order only to shout "hold on" mid sentence to run back to the counter to screw around with his phone and a pen. We got up and left. It was comical the way they all watched us walk out, completely clueless as to why on earth we would just leave. We weren't in any hurry but at 25 minutes for zero service I wouldn't recommend this place to my elderly cat who has the patience of a saint and enjoys nodding around his empty bowl before food comes only to eat one nibble at a time over three hours. read more

A great little place for Breakfast and Lunch in a small-town diner setting. On Friday and Saturday, DeeDee also serves Dinner from 5:00 to 8:00 in that same small-town, local diner setting. Dee Dee has different dinner specials each night, or you can order from the lunch menu (mostly burgers and sandwiches). The night we were there, the specials were prime rib($17), New York steak ($14), and meatloaf($12). Each was served with a loaded baked potato and mixed vegetables. A tossed salad and/or dessert could be ordered. We arrived at 6:15 and the restaurant was full. However, we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. I ordered the prime rib, but was told they "just ran out". Disappointedly, my wife and I ordered the New York steak instead. The wait person took our orders, but when she came back with our drinks, she informed us that they had ran out of baked potatoes, and offered to substitute them with mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife agreed, but I asked for, and got, French fries, instead. Our meals were delivered in about 10 minutes. Mine was a perfect medium rare, while my wife's was a perfect medium well. The food was hot, presented beautifully, and very tasty. Dee Dee's Cafe would have received 5 stars, but running out of the "star" special so quickly into their dinner service cost them the 5th star. We'll be back, however, for what we had was priced right and tasted great, with good service in a local, small-town diner setting. read more

My boyfriend and I were in town because I needed the passport service at the post office next door. Despite some poor reviews we decided to give this place a whirl. Our first impression walking in: it was clean and the staff was friendly in acknowledging us. We promptly got our drinks and a food order in, and the food came out in a timely manner. Now I'm not a big breakfast fan, but I honestly enjoyed my vegetarian omelette and my boyfriend liked his California omelette. Not many breakfast places so I wanted this spot to be good. Always full, locals who have no other choice is my assumption. Staff isn't the friendliest, small restaurant for them to be so frantic. Expensive for the quality of food you get. They also don't take orders over the phone because they've been burned too many times and are too busy. When you run a monopoly as the only real breakfast restaurant in town you can afford to pull stunts like that I suppose. read more

I was so very happy with our entire experience our first time here. First, warm, welcome from a sweet waitress Kaitlyn, the atmosphere was casual and instantly felt like family all around. The Christmas tree was a quaint addition to the ambiance. Food prices were average, not pricey, food portions were not over the top and just the right amounts. I ordered the Philly French Toast with bacon (I loved that my bacon was bouncy) and Bob ordered DC Scrambler and hash browns, all cooked to perfection !! We'll be back! read more
