    Lunch Menu

I have been eating at this lovely establishment for years now. It's a great breakfast place, have never eaten lunch there, but I can say that the breakfasts are delicious and always quality. The service has always been open, friendly, and fast. The restaurant has a good feel about it, and decor is appropriate. Today I had the Tolmex Scramble, and it's definitely one of my favorites!

Half a chef salad, dinner plate size very delicious.

There was a group of six of us. We all had a different dish. Everyone's food was very good. The service was excellent. The ambiance was very comfortable. I had a half of chef's salad. It was delicious. My husband had Prime Rib dip, it was great.

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path in a strip mall area that doesn't have very many businesses or retailers anymore. However, it's a classic diner and serves some good solid breakfast. Just what you would expect from a restaurant like this. They were decently busy and the food came out reasonably quick. The chicken fried steak, with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns, also came with choice of break but I went with the small pancake option. It was very delicious.

    Chicken fried steak, seafood omelette

Ordered chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, seafood omelette, and french toast. Service was a little slow but not too bad. Better food than expected. Everything came out hot. Omelette was really good evej though I'm not a big seafood lover. They give a lot of gravy. French toast wasn't that spectacular by itself but it was great with the salted butter and syrup

A piece of my husband's hash browns from the classic breakfast he ordered. It was delicious!!! Cooked perfectly, in a most excellent way.

CURiOUS ON FASHiON DRiVE Really great breakfast restaurant, that serves lunch and dinner options, as well. Oh, AND alcoholic beverages are available, if you need it morning or early in the afternoon! We arrived around 2:30PM, and the waitress did make it clear that we had arrived too late, but that today she would make an exception. I asked to make sure, and yes the restaurant closes at 3PM. In my world, if a restaurant is open tiL three, they are serving tiL three. After that tho she was very nice and professional. We ordered breakfast. My husband got the classic breakfast with hash browns and we ordered a shortstack and one French toast, coffee and orange juice. The food was excellent. A bit pricey but good. Several older couples were dining in the restaurant, and we wondered if we might find a coupon somewhere for a good deal. As we left, i asked a lady behind the counter if they were planning on extending their hours into the evening, considering their extensive dinner menu. She replied by saying, if they can find more staff, they would like to be open at night too. So, hospitality score on this little secret gem of a diner, waiters need apply!

Had been up north and we stopped on the way back to Tacoma for breakfast. Looked on Yelp which led us to this little place located in the Outlet Mall in Burlington. Small place and not crowded when we arrived about 10:00 the Monday before Christmas. Seated right away and given menus and our drink order taken. As time went on more and more folks came in, some seemed to be regulars, and I did feel badly for the lone server who kept going with a smile on her face. Huge assortment of both breakfast and lunch items. They close in the early evening. Noticed that you could have lunch instead of breakfast if you wanted. They had four choices of eggs Benedict which is my husbands favorite and he said there were good, not great but good. I opted for the classic breakfast which consisted of two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage, hash browns and choice of toast, muffin or biscuit. When our orders came, the server dropped off Hubs meal and my biscuit and said she'd made a mistake on the eggs and would be right back, they were fixing new ones right away. Totally disappointed in the biscuit. Not sure what I'd call it but it wasn't a biscuit. More like a roll with a biscuit texture. Got four strips of bacon, and a huge portion of slightly greasy has browns. Noticed that many gave this four stars, not sure it's worth that many but a decent option if you're at the mall shopping.

On my way home from the annual fantasy football draft, and decided to have breakfast at this place. I must say I agree with the positive reviews. I had the Tolmex Scramble and it was fantastic. The service was excellent and friendly. I do have to say the chains at the front of the restaurant are a little goofy, but you can sit and eat during COVID so a small price to pay. Eat here!

$16 for eggs and potatoes ? Lessons learned. Wow.:..flavorless, and in a place without any charm or creativity. So disappointing.

Love their turkey sandwich. Miss being able to dine inside but they do a good job with takeout.

Hello, we are looking for a breakfast place where we can get a breakfast of hash brown potatoes and a side of sausage gravy. Is this something that we could order at The Curious Chef?

Family owned and operated. Their food is so tasty and made from scratch. No premade stuff here. Their beef and barley soup and clam chowder is my absolute favorite. Everything on their menu looks and tastes fabulous. Homestyle cooking,. They serve…

Came in on a Tuesday around 11:30 AM for lunch. We were really hoping that we beat the crowds…read morebecause we usually don't go here anymore only because we don't like to wait and wait to be seated and then wait some more. What can I say? We were really hungry and really wanted their food and they have a nice variety on their menu. So we waited. It didn't even seem like there were that many people waiting or on the waiting list. Nonetheless, we waited probably 20 minutes in the entry. They called our name and seated us. They have a lot of tables set up throughout their space. I see there is seating upstairs but not sure when/if they seat up there. Their restrooms are now gender neutral and one toilet. That's nice! There was a changing table in the one I visited. The server came around within about five minutes and when we ordered our food, It took about another 20 to 25 minutes. I had time to shop the whole adjacent store, make a purchase and still waited awhile for our food. This is always a period of time that feels like it takes forever because by now you're starving and have looked at all of their sweets in the display case while in the waiting area and smelled all the cinnamon scented candles and the food being prepared in the kitchen. My Linda's brother-in-law scramble was delicious. I opted for the bacon sprinkled. It didn't seem like 4 dollars worth of bacon and there's plenty of flavor in that scramble otherwise. $23.54 with the bacon sprinkles. My hubby had the country biscuits and gravy, and he said it was good. $17.79. My husband did mention that he was disappointed that the country biscuit and gravy didn't automatically come with their breakfast potatoes. You have to choose- eggs OR potatoes. He ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, and it was a small bowl. $6.50. We shared the French toast and took most of that to go as well as some of the hash. $14.99. It was plain. We both had water to drink and had to ask for a refill. That all came up to $68.47 plus tip. The receipt says, "If you pay cash, your total may be rounded per this location's payment policy." I didn't see what that policy says.

Calico Cupboard is one of those places that you NEED to go to when you're in town…read more When you get there, you just sign in yourself at the stand which is a good system so no one has to check you in when they're already pretty busy. While you're waiting you can go to the shop down the stairs or go to the dessert area right next to the waiting area to get some great desserts. Last time i was there I saw frosted cream cheese sugar cookies, and pies, and more. When you get seated there are so many great food options, lots of options, same with drinks. They are only open until 3:30 pm so be sure to manage time well. And don't expect an empty place, it's usually populated. Tight space, so scoot in those chairs as far as you can. Staff were laid back, and nice. When they're busy make sure to be patient with the staff, they're dealing with tons of other orders as well.
