The women who work here are incredible! Always cheery and happy to give suggestions for little changes to their sandwiches, as in extra horseradish. Outside eating area is nice, and has beautiful plants and flowers. French dip is always great. Ham & cheese was surprisingly tasty, the tomatoes gave it a real lift. The lunch is really good, but what is really impressive is their homemade Nanaimo bars. I discovered Nanaimo bars 40 years ago and have them whenever I see them on the menu in a variety of restaurants in Canada and Washington. I've even had them in Nanaimo! But these are the very best that I've ever had. I can't say why they are different but the base cake is perfectly moist and loaded with coconut, the custard is that same mix used in any recipe for these, and the chocolate is obviously high quality. The sandwiches are great! We have driven by here so many times and never noticed that it was a restaurant. It's right on State St in Sedro and should be loud but it feels like your in a comfortable garden! The women who were working there were so nice, funny and helpful. We got the Fill-R-Up (dip sandwich) and the Reuben. Both sandwiches came with potato chips and pickles. These sandwiches were absolutely amazing. Really nice cafe for brunch! We sat outside to enjoy the weather. Superb service & cute ambience. We started with yummy mimosas & their sweet pepper Jack jelly & crackers. For entrees we tried their tuna melt & their haystack sandwich, which is a sandwich from a selection paired with an 8 oz soup. I've eaten here numerous times as I used to work down the road, the sandwhiches are large, and filled with fresh Ingredients that overflow. The menu is a great mixture of classics you can count on while also some creative combinations that you can't believe you've never thought of yourself. I was excited to try this place mainly because of how high the reviews are, but sadly I did not have the experiences as others. Me and my husband walked in for coffee before our hike, and I greeted the old lady in the front. I said hello and she instantly ignored me with silence and asked me right away. What is it that you want? What would you like to order? I told her I'm new here so I do need a few moments to look at the menu to which then she just stared at me and then walked away, I felt unwelcome and as if she wanted to get the order out-of-the-way no greeting or anything bad experience would not recommend. I love the garage cafe, I get a my favorite sandwich a couple times a month. But I was very disappointed this last visit when I took my daughter from out of town there for a nice lunch. The waitress took orders from two tables that sat after us. Both of our sandwiches came out wrong, after I teased her about not writing the order down. Then I was overcharged, as they had increased their prices for the 4th of July and hadn't changed the prices back. read more

Hi, I was there yesterday 9/17/24 & I had ordered smoked salmon appetizer that comes with crackers, cream cheese, crêpes, but that Service suck Service, cause that blondy sour face/old hag is there again the 2nd time round & again the same unwelcoming face look & it seems a little racism look I think that explains her sour/crumpy look toward me/sassy look, that she gives vibe thing look, but w/others customers she seems pleasant towards them & I think she's as well the owner of the place I think & does acts like it. Anyhow, the first time I ate there and had coffee, which is very tasty coffee. I really enjoyed, but the only problem is her attitude with me. That's why the first time I gave her one star and I came back for the third time in a while I read it for is because I love the coffee. I really enjoy it but her attitude rated the 1st time 1star, but I had to gotta go. She's going to end up pushing everyone away. She does that towards Asian the attitude she got towards me.. Oh! I'm just gonna tell you I really doubted the garage after the two other places that were there previously. However they took an idea ran with it and made everything so much better. I'm really inspired by how beautiful their patio is. You can tell the owners put in a lot of effort. Everytime I drive by it brings a little joy to my heart. The food is good you know. Called in to place an order. They asked me if I would hold for a moment. After waiting 15 minutes, I decided just to drive there. When I went in, I said to them that they could hang up the phone. That I had been waiting on hold and decided to come in to order. The lady with the blonde ponytail was rude and replied well we are busy. The other gal just laughed. And said oh yeah you were. I could hear their conversations while on hold. Because they actually just set the phone down. I had recommended this place to a group of ladies for a lunch visit.
