Went to The Office Tavern for dinner on our way home. The Office is 21 and over and has a very good pub vibe going on. Lots of indoor seating and a great outdoor section as well. Our waitress was timely and very friendly. Very informative on any menu questions we had. Our food was very good! I had the carnivore plate, and my girlfriend had the bruschetta. Both were very good! This is the second place I've been to recently that has had carnivore options on their menu. Their drink menu is very extensive, they have a great tap list, and a great mocktail list. The only reason they are getting a 4 instead of a 5 is that they were out of several of the ingredients to make their mocktails they had listed on their menu and we went their specifically for the mocktail menu because my girlfriend can not have alcohol at this time. My guy and myself try to get out and try new places- not everywhere is winner. But we saw The Office Tavern on our drive up north and loved the clean look and food options. As someone in the business you can't help but notice oddities, things you'd change, or truly ways you could do your own job better. Our service was wonderful and I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name. She clearly likes what she does, and backs the product she sells. It was a Sunday morning and she was energetic and on like it were a busy Friday night. We loved the food. The fact that the owner uses beef tallow made a huge flavor and health boost to our lunch. More people should know the care the owner and kitchen puts into having a quality product put out. Clean well manicured patio, clean restrooms, clean bar with a cool vibe for sports or a great pour of bourbon. Come see this place. We loved it! Tony- you have a good spot. What a cute little place in the heart of Burlington! I met a friend here for a drink the other night, and what looks like a tiny place from the outside actually was quite spacious and lively inside. The place was full during happy hour, which was ending shortly after my arrival, so I quickly ordered a Manny's (no happy hour pricing for craft beers, sadly), and their happy hour spicy Asian shrimp. The beer arrived cold and, soon, those beautiful, sizzling hot shrimp were sitting before me. It was the perfect appy to tide me over until dinner later, and just the right blend of crunchy and spicy. Highly recommend! Soon my friend arrived and we caught up on old times while she enjoyed a glass of chardonnay and I had another Manny's. I did look over their dinner menu, but the prices felt a little high (as with most places nowadays). Judging by how good those happy hour shrimp were, though, I can definitely see myself trying some of their other food when I return. Oh, by the way, the service was awesome and super friendly. We did not care for this tavern. It had no character - kind of a "wanna-be" tavern. The food was nothing to write home about, and we left with that feeling you get when a movie ends on a weird note...What was that? Needless to say, we don't plan to return. read more

They have a BLT and get this ... they don't have mayo. Service is decent, but it's hard to operate a kitchen without a pretty fundamental ingredient. They gave me garlic aioli instead, but it wasn't very good. read more

I love The Office Tavern! The restaurant is beautiful with lots of indoor and covered outdoor seating to accommodate the single diner to a party of 20! The food is consistently excellent. I like to share fiery spinach dip or the epic pretzel! I crave the zesty asian shrimp, caesar salad, smash burger and street style carnitas tacos! The fries are now cooked in tallow and the tartar sauce is a perfect accompaniment! I go at least weekly. The bartenders make amazing craft cocktails. They have happy hour all day on Mondays and 1 to 6 the other weekdays. And where can you get a Coors Light for $3! read more

Stopped in here for a late lunch on Oct 4 on our way home from the east side. Place was busy but lots of room to find a seat. My wife ordered the grilled cheese with fries and I had a BLT with fries. Both were very good and tasty. The one knock for me is that I like my bacon on my BLTs to be cooked, no fat. This one had way too much fat, but next time I will ask to have it cooked longer, not a big deal for me. Thought the prices were very fair and you can't beat a $3 Coors Light. The two that waited on us were great and did a great job checking on us considering they were busy and running their butts off. I will definitely visit here again. read more

My sister has been following The Office Tavern's Instagram account for a hot-minute. She requested once I returned into town that this would be our first stop. I was "in town" for a friend's Celebration of Life, therefore she picked me up at the airport, and off we go ... We posted up at The Office! It's choose your own adventure [pick your seat] My initial thought was this joint was too bougie for the Skagit Valley. The bar was lengthy, plenty of TVs, and the floor tables were spaced out such that it didn't remind me of cookie-cutter-zero-foot-property-lines-houses. We arrived late on Friday night. I had already previewed the drink menu, so I had an eye on the No Money, No Honey. The place was busy as expected on a Friday night, yet our server arrived immediately. My sister ordered a personal pitcher, and I didn't waiver on my drink. We LOVED our drinks - so tasty. Although, No Money, No Honey is sweet, so buyer beware. The food special was Loaded Taco Fries - those were necessary. I had a ravenous appetite after flying Frontier Airlines. I ordered the Teriyaki Bowl because finding a gem of Asian food in Phoenix is a lost cause. THAT 'YAKI BOWL HAS NO PEER! Bar none the best I have had in a hot-second. "Another great day at the office" says nobody ever.......... Ha! Just kidding. The Office Tavern is the exception. We go there when we think of it. They never disappoint. Their drinks are good, they have plenty of beer on tap (no Bud Light that I could see) and their food menu is good. This time I had Cheese Steak Fries. Yes you read that right. Cheese, Steak, French Fries. They take their Cheese Steak sandwich ingredients and smother a pile of seasoned fries with it. You get the peppers, onions, all the cheese, and the meat is prime rib. It's listed on the appetizer side but it's more than enough to eat as an entree. I took some home and it was just as good later. Mrs had the Crispy Chicken sandwich and a side salad. We like it there. It's a casual place. They keep it clean and their service is on par with most places. I will be going back for those fries!! read more

The team from the bar to the floor is happy, friendly and make you feel good about your POUR decisions. Ambiance: The bar is lengthy and has TV's for sports. The floor tables are spaced apart so you can enjoy your food without neighbors. Outside patio is PERFECT for all. Food: Look, the food is great, it is really, really great. Those onion rings were fluffy and not greasy. I should have shared them with Mr. Coins but I didn't and whatever, 50/50 doesn't apply to food. The street corn dip is a must, the kind of dip you lick the bowl when you assume no one is looking. The wings were BOMB. My and my other half ordered a tavern burger and some chicken wings. Both were really good. I will definitely be back to try thier other menu options. They have nice outdoor seating. It would be very easy to round this place up to five stars--there were a couple of little things off with our meal yesterday, and they fixed them right away. Bottom line, it's a newer place that's hitting fully on all cylinders. The setting is great, service is friendly and attentive, the kitchen has grand plans and executes on them, and the cocktails are excellent. We showed up mid-afternoon on a pretty winter Sunday. It was packed. We got a table inside, but the bar was full, and so was the patio out back. They've made a very welcoming space out of an older building, and people seem to flock here for it. It's one big room when you walk in, with a huge long bar, plenty of banquette tables, and highboys in back. The materials are not overdone at all, but everything's clean and nice and freshly painted. It feels new, but already lived in. Calling it the "Office Tavern" seems doubly ironic, since there is no office space around here, so no one thinks you're going to work in this area if you say you're going to the office. And it looks like a bistro all the way, not a tavern. We got menus right away, and water as soon as we asked for it. The place was truly bustling, with only a couple empty seats anywhere, and servers in constant motion at all times. The menus were all very promising--two pages of wine, two pages of cocktails, two pages of food. The food has lots of nice ingredients, and you can tell even on paper that the recipes have lots of thought behind them and they're aimed at big flavors. Lots of creative touches in the cocktail list, too, with plenty of in-house creations. We ordered two entrees with side salads, plus tea and a cocktail. The shrimp tostada came out first; the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed, and this is no big deal. This a great dish, though next time I will ask for just half as much salsa negra--there was so much of it that the dish was out of balance with salt and heavy flavor. We gobbled it down though. The Office burger came out next. Ordered medium, served extra well done, with underdone bacon. Took it off the bill immediately. Our server was an absolutely lovely human being, and even as busy as she was, she took the time to hear me out on the burger and was totally cheerful about the whole thing. She seemed kinda mortified when she saw how overdone the patty was. This is no doubt a good burger when the kitchen can focus, though adding avocado as I did made it supremely messy. I replaced it with the Cubano, which was tasty, hot, well-made, full of flavor. Great sandwich. The caesar alongside it was fine. The wedge salad across the table was a big hit. The beer list here looks fine, and the wine list was decent enough--nothing fancy. The cocktails, though, are priced beautifully and very creative, very well done. The Cadillac Maui and the Pussy Galore were both balanced, not oversweet, flavorful, and served beautifully. Out the door, we had two entrees, two salads, 5 drinks, and tea for about $100 plus tip. Very good value, and we'll happily come back. read more

Honest Review: Sunday 1130 AM Front row parking! Also easy access to front doors from parking lot from what I could see. We sat at the bar due to almost all tables being occupied - which is a good sign- very popular! The bartender was prompt to greet us and very courteous. He quickly offered menus and told us the daily specials and about bottomless mimosas. Done! We ordered our food: Chicken Fried Steak and the Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict and waited for approximately 25 minutes before it arrived (which was understandable as we came in right in the middle of the Sunday brunch rush). The bartender delivered our meals, silverware, and refilled our bottomless mimosas. Chicken Fried Steak: great crunch on the breading, crispy corners on the potatoes, but the gravy could've used some seasoning - it tasted like a flour, water, and pepper only. Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict: MAJOR kudos to making your own hollandaise sauce! This is a treat in this area! The sauce was good, but it could have used more hot sauce and lemon (believe it or not, it's not all about the butter), the eggs were over poached - yolk didn't run at all on one of them, the English muffins were raw - needed more toasting; but the tomatoes were DELICIOUS and the same great potatoes! I'm not sure if the kitchen was trying to rush our food from the long wait, but I'd rather wait for great food. Overall: Great option for weekend brunch! Many restaurants in metro areas offer only one day bottomless mimosa brunch, this place offers both Saturdays AND Sundays (rare)! Tip: Go around 10 AM to avoid the rush. read more

This space has so much potential! But the lack of service is just so bad. One waitress busier counting her money than dealing with the 4 waiting tables. But the poor business man who tried to call in an order, twice, only to have to come in to place his order. Then the order didn't get done, they had to come back, and the order wasn't correct. Honestly no one really cared, he got an I'm sorry that was embarrassing. Definitely need better management and training in customer service as well as service in general. A friend and I were attracted by The Office Tavern's unique exterior as we looked for a fun place for lunch. We enjoyed the tavern ambiance--it felt like a local watering hole, but welcoming. Service was fast and friendly, and food was delicious, with big portions. I had Mac 'n' Cheese with Grilled Chicken--a little difficult to eat, with the big slices of chicken breast on top of mounds of creamy Parmesan pasta, but yummy. The menu had several really unique dishes, both appetizers and entrees, so we'll be back again. read more

We have eaten here 4 different times and have always been extremely pleased. The portions are enormous and the food is always amazing. We have had everything from breakfast to the fish n chips, burgers, sandwiches. All delicious. 2 oriole could easily share a club sandwich. We were so stoked to check this place out. But it was all around a disappointing experience. We came in for dinner, last night [Friday] around 9:30PM, tho the kitchen was only serving from the Late Night Menu. We were seated, and the server brought us menus. We had to ask for a drink menu. We were not given cutlery nor napkins, nor were we served waters, the entire time we were there. The server seemed disappointed that we only ordered Street Corn, even tho we were planning to order more.... After ordering the appetizer and drinks, we waited over 15 minutes before the server brought us the Street Corn. She put the food on our table and apologized that the bar was "backed up". She left before we could ask for anything. The drinks arrived later. The corn dish was atrocious. What a totally sad dish!!! Oy vey. It was inBetween Luke warm and cool, and it was so icky. Bland. Literally tasted Like Mayonnaise & Corn. The chips were room temperature and stale. It did not seem that busy, and we saw people getting drinks served before us. Maybe our order got lost in a shuffle, but the service staff did not seem very concerned with us. Finally our drinks arrived. Like twenty minutes after ordering. The drinks were delicious, tho. But overall, the food was not appetizing, and left us both feeling ill [not well]. The waitress never came back, until we were done with our drinks. We Askt for the check. Was not a fan of the mushroom burger but the other two were really good. Service: this is a complex one. Our server was really nice and friendly. However, there was another server/cook sitting on a table with other servers, and he made this weird pop cracker sound(something like a thin plastic is banged on table), we did ignore it initially but then he kept repeating even though he saw we were irritated. So I have been on this quest to find the correct way to do beef teriyaki Ala kart. This place did it right. My situation was interesting, I treated my mother here and a person new at the work place made a reservation for me didn't know they were fully booked that night. The manager came in and apologized and STILL made a place for me to eat with my mother. They gave us the booth seats and the sushi chefs gave me a free on the house "firecracker" and apologized for the confusion. The food here is incredible, but the service is astounding. I would recommend this place but you MUST always make a reservation or beware the long lines that follow. read more

I really wanted to like this place so bad! It was an off night for sure. My experience lended itself poor cocktails and food that took literally 3 hours. Our waitress did her best of trying to manage the off night when a cook quit and walked out the door. Yes, restaurant drama, common I know! Had a bad experience with service right after they opened so didn't go back until recently. Exact opposite experience. We were greeted at the door, sat outside and our server followed us and took our drink order. She checked on us regularly and I only regret that I didn't get her name to compliment her. She very appropriately refused them any more alcohol service. One woman took offense and became argumentative and combative. Olivia kept her cool and handled the situation very professionally. Love this place! It wasn't too busy so we sat right away and service was spot on! The only thing I would like to note is - it echos in there and the noise level is a little high. The atmosphere and decor is very nice and cozy. I love the out door seating area as well. I ordered from the happy hour menu (good selections) and got the pork sliders and sweet potato fries. Both were super good. The sliders were moist and the bbq sauce was perfect. The sweet potato fries have a slight vinegar taste that was delicious - good combo! My party of 6 came here to celebrate my birthday after enjoying the Tulip Festival Sunday April 30. We walked in around 12:30pm and found a table right away, waitress came over and greeted us instantly, we were super excited to try this place as the previous review and pictures of food looked amazing. Unfortunately this is where the story takes a twist.. Waitress came and took our drink order, didn't write anything down so had to come back and ask us clarification on not just drinks, but food too! We placed an appetizer order and told her we would be ready to order entrees soon after. That's when she disappeared... two more tables came in got sat, and had their drinks and food before she ever came back to take our food order. And good luck getting any of the other girls attention, they wouldn't even look in our direction as I'm sure we weren't "their table". Appetizers came out quickly after being ordered (buffalo cauliflower and the spinach dip) both were nothing to rave about, probably would've tasted better hot yet there was no silverware, napkins, or plates brought to our table so we couldn't eat them right when delivered. After waiting 5 minutes for our waitress we had to go ask the bartender for silverware as again our waitress was nowhere to be found. We've now been here for an hour with empty drinks, and still no entree order taken. Waitress finally comes back around and takes our order, they were out of the pretzel bun which was a bummer as 3 of our 6 people wanted to try the beer cheese burger. Wasn't told about them being out at any point up til ordering. Fast forward now orders been in 40 minutes, still no food.. and now our waitress comes to our table and lets us know that they are out of cream cheese for the jalapeño burger that was ordered 40 MINUTES AGO! What took them so long to find that out, had she not put our order in? There's clearly a lack of communication. At this point we are all pretty frustrated, the people we had seen come in after us had now cashed out and left after getting their full dining experience and we are still waiting for our main course. It's now been 2 hours and food arrives, but wait, only 4 of our 6 entrees... at this point I'm ready to ask for the check and leave without eating.. the waitress starts giving attitude to us and her excuse is "we have a new bartender and cook". That's not an excuse! We didn't have any fancy drinks, and our order was 5 burgers and a Mac n cheese... and there was maybe 5 tables in the whole place at this point. I don't know her name but she was probably the worst server we've ever had anywhere. Her attitude, unprofessionalism, and disappearing act was ridiculous. When the final two entrees arrived the 4 who had gotten their food (15min before) were already finished. Waitress is gone socializing with the other servers at the other end of the restaurant clearly knowing our frustrations and that we were ready for the bill. One of our party members had to walk up to the bar to ask for the tab at which point she comes over, doesn't even show us our tabs so we can confirm they were split correctly and rushes us out. I come from 8 years in the service industry, waitressing and bartending, and let me tell you i have never felt more disrespected and upset at an establishment, worst part is we drove 2 hours to celebrate my birthday and this establishment and their unprofessional waitress was such a disappointment. This was a yummy and happy accident! Let me explain. We meant to get a crab louie salad and chowder from the place 2 storefronts up. We got mixed up and found ourselves ordering takeout from here. We figured it out when we saw that there was no crab louie salad to be had. It was deee-licious and we were glad that they stopped. A couple things to know. The outside seating area is not theirs but it ideal if you have your doggo with you. There were a lot of waitresses, about 4, just hanging out at the front when we placed our order. For whatever reason, there is only one waitress dedicated to take out orders. I visited The Office Tavern this week for the first time since it had been renamed and remodeled. I came to this restaurant/bar a few times before in the past but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The female bartender was so nice and friendly, gave me excellent drink recommendations. The atmosphere was very inviting, with a beautiful interior. I did not get to experience the nice outdoor area or try food (only drinks) and that is due to lack of options for my diet. From what I saw, definitely pub food and limited options for someone vegan such as myself. I was impressed by the handcrafted drink selection, I would definitely say these folks put thought into coming up with their drink menu. I will definitely come back for more opportunities to rate this establishment higher but so far so good! read more

We ran into The Office Tavern by accident on Mother's Day (today) while searching for a place for brunch with mom. Drove by, and I thought "wow, Varsity changed" - what an amazing difference!! The interior has been renovated into a classy venue, rather than the cheesy wannabe frat house that Varsity was. The food was cooked perfectly, and had actual presentation - I can't wait to go back! The staff is well dressed and classy (another huge upgrade)!! Came here on a Sunday looking for food around 10:30/11am. There was a decent amount of people inside and we found a table right away. It's very clean inside. Impressive looking bar. The food was ok but cold by the time we got it - weird since the place was maybe half full. I got the breakfast tacos and they were good (too much potato and not enough sausage) and my friend got the brunch burger which looked good. I'd come back if it was convenient or to try their drinks.
