I came here due to a check engine light problem on my car. Previous service was done at another repair shop since my car had to be towed and the other shop was closer to the place my car died @_@. Since the check engine light still allowed me to drive it, I decided to try Economy this time on my day off. I made an appointment, which is recommended and which you can do online. I dropped my car off when they opened at 8am. I had to wait a while for my husband to pick me up, so I decided to go to the donut shop next door. They don't have a waiting room (the only negative about this place), but they do have two chairs in the corner that you can use. After a few hours I got a call and found out that I had to replace the catalytic converter (ouch...) which they can order and install on Monday. When my husband and I picked up the car, they did us a favor and cut off the small lock that I used to lock the spare tire in the back. It has such rusted shut and hasn't been opened for 10 years @_@. After they cut the lock off, they even offered to fill it with air when we returned on Monday (awesome) since it was flatter than a flat tire. On Monday they worked at replacing the catalytic converter. They did run into a problem and one of the O2 sensors rusted to it and they couldn't remove it. They did try for an hour but it wasn't going to happen. So we also replaced an O2 sensor which they were able to get within the hour. They were able to finish everything by 2pm. They cost for labor was very modest, and cheaper that I've seen in a while. We also used our AAA discount which saved us a bit on the labor cost too. Overall my husband and I will be using Economy in the future!

Most of the dealers did not take the time to speak to me thoroughly and/or answer my questions except for one. From the beginning Mike and the AHT team communicated very well and made sure that I had every question answered. Mike came out to my location personally and took time to speak with me and take a look at the site (Garage) along with taking measurements of all my vehicles. He then went back and compiled simulations which allowed me to see the complete solution. After deciding on the solution, Mike stayed in touch to keep me abreast of the Installation date and any prep work which needed to be completed. (This allowed for a smooth Installation). The day of the Installation, Mike and the team went through a summary of the Install before we started and asked if I had any questions or concerns. During the Install, the crew was very careful and professional and did not damage anything. After it was done, Mike spent a good deal of time explaining the operation, maintenance and even stuck around to test a few of my Vehicles. The level of incompetence is astounding. The first time I got my car back, the oil cooler they…read morereplaced was leaking everywhere. The engine oil warning light came on. I made it clear in writing all of what needed to be done to the vehicle. I told the body shop (I was hit by a Geico underinsured motorist) that sent my car to this business that there's no rush and that I'm happy to pay whatever it takes to get the car right. I put in writing that the lug nuts needed to be torqued to spec. (101-103 ft. lbs.). Today I went to take 1 of the wheels they put on the car off. I used penetrating oil, tapped the hex socket (this is what you want to use, not a 12 point that will strip the lug corners) a breaker bar with a 3 ft. pipe extension (total of almost 5') and could not break the lugs free. And bent the breaker bar. I'm a 45 year old male with above average strength. Next I went to a neighbor's house, tapped the socket on to the lug nut and used a top of the line 1/2" Snap-on impact at 175 PSI. This produces somewhere between 1,200 and 1,600 ft. lbs. of nut-breaking torque. IT DIDN'T move a millimeter. There's about 4 people involved between this shop and the body shop and no one is capable of following manufacturer or customer instructions. Or verifying the shoddy work of others even after the "others" have done previous shoddy work. I have documentation of the instructions and receipts if anyone would like to see them before taking their car to this establishment. They've had multiple chances to do things correctly and have proven that they either are not capable, do not care or both. They have no more chances. Whatever manager/owner response that appears is a fools attempt to save face. I was a fool to allow my car to be serviced here. You are too if you read this and still go there. It's not worth risking your life. Do yourself a favor and choose another shop.

Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
