Ooof. I grew up going to this place and thought I would check in after a cross-country flight from California to see family. It's a nice enough room and the servers are extremely friendly, no issues there. But my god, the meatheads that this place attracts on a Friday night. They were straight out of some sort of movie, and not in a good way. I guess they were the stereotypical movie portrayal of out-of-control adrenaline and hormones. Still, I would go back and try a reggae night. I must have just hit it on the wrong night. The DJ was playing something with lyrics like, "Yeah yeah yeah." First off I'm not totally defending this place but ease up on slamming the staff, it's been open a month. Takes time to work out the kinks. Anyways a group of us stopped in last night to check out the new "frankies" and were happily shocked to see the change, even though I'm sad to see the nautical dungeon go. It's wide open and bright with a dance floor, pool table and skee ball to boot. Big deck with a view upstairs and patio downstairs. Sitting at the bar I had the Boston burger which has melted cheddar, grilled onions and baked beans. It was cooked perfectly and I should mention they're made "in house". So nice to see this place re-inhabited! Upper Deck is great. I disagree with the previous reviewers... I had a completely different experience. Extremely pleasant, cheerful staff who were very eager to help us, constant refills, and timely service. The portions are ginormous and the food is delicious. Just a different day, different shift of people, I guess. The parking lot was packed, so clearly they're doing something right. I like this place - their menu is big which i'm sometimes wary of but everything is pretty good as far as pub fare + entrees. what I like most is the rooftop deck, they sometimes have live music. it's a big venue and if I lived down in the area i'd consider having an event there it's just a great low key space. This experience was awkward from the moment we walked in. My husband and I have never been here so we walked into the front entrance and there were a few people sitting at the bar. The bartender didn't even look up so we stood there for a minute and walked out. There's no direction at all to where you should go if you want to sit upstairs on the outside deck. So we walked up to the deck where the woman tending bar did acknowledge us but didn't tell us we could sit where we wanted or if we needed to wait to be seated. So we awkwardly stood there and sat ourselves. We waited about 10 minutes until she came over, and while she did apologize for the wait, she she just gave us the menus and said "what do you want to drink". My husband asked for a drink menu and she said they don't have one (which is odd because they do on their website). So we waited another 10 minutes or so for her to come back and take our order. My husband got the prime rib, and I got the lobster roll "platter". Some one else delivered our food, and while we both got fries, we were not offered ketchup and didn't realize until he walked away. My husbands prime rib was actually decent but mostly fat. My "platter" was a hot dog roll filled with 3/4 with meat but no claws or tail meat. A regular size serving of fries and a side of coleslaw. Literally no one came over to ask us how our meal was until all we had left on our plates were the cold fries (as we were waiting for someone to come ask if we needed ketchup). The fries, despite being cold were actually delicious. We waited at least 10 minutes after saying we just needed the check, while we watched all the servers standing behind the bar hanging out. Also, it was not busy, as there was only about 6 other parties there. Totally unacceptable. I am a person that always tips 20% but I really just could not for the service we received or lack of. My husband wanted to leave nothing, but we left 10%. Will never come back here, the vibe was so weird. Also, on the way out there was a broken beer bottle right near the stairs and a nip in the parking lot. Classy. This place needs a Bar Rescue. Seriously, where is John Taffer?! read more

The upper deck is a place for sports no doubt. The downstairs offers so many tvs they can literally play every one simultaneously. In addition the 3 pool tables and dart boards made my night out a fun time out. The food adds a bonus, in addition to their Mug Club offering patrons an extra bonus on every draft bought. If thats not enough at least its a nice mug.... Arriving on a Friday night is not like every other night; they have a live band which beats the touch tunes juke box everytime. Looking at the bright side, if the band isn't as advertised the skybox is readily available in the summer which I find enjoyable. Overall, I have been their numerous times because of their atmosphere. It is definitely unique in comparison to anything on the shoreline. read more

I've never even been to the actual restaurant, but I ordered door dash delivery. I got buffalo chicken mac and cheese. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever ordered. Noodles drenched in buffalo sauce, rubbery chicken and sprinkled cheese on top (not even melted.) The side salad and ranch was actually decent so that's all the other star is for. For $15 plus a delivery fee, taxes and tip, this was not worth it at all. read more

The wings are really good and they have good specials like $10 pitchers, $1 sliders, or 70 cent wings. It sucks that the staff is super rude and unpleasant. I went on a Saturday night around 8:00. They asked for my ID as soon as i walked in the door. I handed it to them politely. Its an out of state ID since i live in New Jersey, but we have a cottage in westbrook that we spend summers at (also ive been going to this bar for about the last three years) The guy looked at my ID let out a huge sigh and said "ugh NJ???" he pulled out his phone and asked me my zipcode. I told him it, he then began map questing my address (which when i thought about this later, i realized that was extremely creepy.) He asked me to name some streets around me. First off, if there was a rating below one star, this place would deserve the title. I first tried this place right when it opened up, service was TERRIBLE, but I gave them a little leeway since they had only been open a week. Servers didnt know their place, they were rude and unfriendly. Drinks took forever to reach the table (mind you we were sitting 10ft from the bar), food took just as long! There was no excuse for it since the place was dead(opening week!). Working in the food industry, I usually tip very well, but I know when not to splurge, I gave them 15% and went on my way. A few months later I decided to go out with a group of friends to watch a sports game, get some beers and hang out for a while. All that was accomplished was hanging out a while. Servers were still not attentive, waiting up to 45min to order another drink, nobody makes you feel welcome in this place, I said I'm never coming back here again. But I yet again leave a 15% tip. About a year and a half later, warm weather comes through and I have the urge to sit on a deck with a burger and a beer. I decide, "heck, if they are still in business, they must have changed, right?". We are driving down and noticing other restaurants are packed, Bills seafood, Haywire burger bar, etc. My girlfriend and I walk in about 4:30 last Sunday for an early dinner, nobody at the hostess table to greet you, we find a spot at the extremely vacant bar and sit down. Nobody acknowledges out existence for a good 20 minutes, nobody even looks at us. The majority of the staff are all talking amongst each other, watching tv, or fooling around with an Xbox. I should have walked out right then. The lethargic bartender comes over and asks us for our orders, my beer comes and tastes kinda bad, like its from an old keg or the taps haven't been cleaned properly. Another 20min pass, we ask for menus. By the time she finally came back, we placed our appetizers and entrees at the same time. 30 minutes later, I spy our nachos come out. I think "finally!", but then my heart sinks as I see them go back into the kitchen for 10 minutes. When they are finally brought to us, they are good, nothing amazing, but good. The only problem is that not even 5 minutes later, here comes our burgers. Does the kitchen know what meal spacing is about? The food as a whole was good, though timing was pretty terrible. Its a shame a place that looks this good and has a location this good with overflow from nearby restaurants can't thrive. I had enough, this time I left no tip, walked out of there and vowed to never go to this place again. I blame my entire bad experience on the staff and the managers that thought it would be a good idea to hire these horrible workers. From now on any chance I get, I will steer people away from this disaster. I know many people in the local food industry and I'm part of the "younger party crowd" this place is meagerly trying to cater to. This place should be out of business in a year. read more

Aesthetically they did wonders to the interior... Staff is pleasant. Beer selection and food, very average. Good place to catch a game and a beer, nothing special or interesting on the menu that would make you want to travel any distance. Wings are ok, Nachos terrible, Burger plain, although chowder is pretty decent. This place is convenient, as there is little in the area to compete with a sports bar like this. This is too bad; a little Gastro-flair to the menu, a few signature dishes, a little creativity in the kitchen and some pride in the menu would go a long away in the shoreline area. First time writing a yelp review ever so that means this means something. Went to this place tonight to pick up a to go order, bar had maybe 10 people sitting at it. Bartender does not look at me does not acknowledge me but is telling her coworker -DIRECTLY in front of me- that my food has been given away and this is the wrong order. Once she realizes it's the correct order she ignores the fact that I am still waiting for my food, walks away and says "I hate to go. This isn't fucking McDonalds. Someone else can handle this." To go wait on nobody. A quiet bar. Two bartenders. And one skinny blonde who is clearly too old and sour to giving any kind of proper customer service and managed to piss me off within the 5 minutes I spent there. Get a new hobby. Have been going to the deck since I was 21 and to say the least, this is my favorite bar! The owner makes sure problem seekers are unwelcome and taken care of in a timely manor. Food is always amazing! I have probably ordered almost everything once here and zero complaints ever! Not to mention, the staff is so welcoming! We go here occasionally for the prime rib because of the value, $14.95. We always sit at the bar. You can expect a decent piece of beef and 2 sides from a list of about 5. Our bartender Kim greeted us and said to sit anywhere and proceeded to take good care of us, checking back several times to be sure all was ok. Happy hour house winesare $5.00. This place is brand new and pretty awesome. The bar has everything you could possibly need - tons of TVs and lots of tables, servers, pool tables, and dart boards. I got the clam chowder bowl and it was - I have to say - one of the best bowls of NE clam chowder I've ever had. I also got the Mexican burger which was amazing also. Great view, horrendous meal. Server was fine, received prime rib well done was told it's med rare. It's not a steak house so before ordering I asked waiter if you don't have a med prime rib then I'll get something else., no big deal. Came in well done, intern manager/ runner came around told us that they will provide us with 2 that are med rare. 2nd one came out (well done). Asked manger/runner what was going on. Said steak is med rare. I've worked in high end steak houses. But manger / owner wanted nothing to do with us. My friend asked for a additional side for his trouble of waiting for 2nd cut to come out which was cooked well. They ended up charging him the cost of both. Bottom line is get a drink and don't order any food. They could care less about the customer. Waste of a great location. read more

Upper deck is a sports bar that is laid back and fun to be at. I have met some old friends here and some great memories have been made. Service is great food is great. Fried pickles deserve to be put on a silver platter! I'd suggest it to anyone. read more
